Age 45. A native and lifelong resident of Mobile died at a local hospital on Wednesday, December 1, 1999 after a brief illness. He was a 1972 graduate of McGill Institute, attended the University of South Alabama and was very active with many Mardi Gras activities. He is survived by his parents, Joyce L. and Edward A. Overbey, Sr. of Mobile; brother, Ed (Fran) Overbey, Jr. of Nashville, TN; sister, Lynn (Tim) Bailey of Mobile; brother, Christopher Eric (Jerri) Overbey of Mobile; niece, Mary Catherine Overbey of Nashville, TN; aunt, Miss Pamela Laws of Mobile, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 2 p.m. with interment in Pine Crest West Cemetery. Joseph M. Parker, Jr.:
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile died at a local hospital on Thursday, December 2, 1999. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 49, a member of the Marine Corp League, Veteran of the Korean War where he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Parker of Mobile; two daughters, Terri (Jack) Martin of Tallahassee, FL and Wendi (Eric) O'Dell of Mobile; brothers, Francis Parker of Lakeland, FL, Eugene Parker and John Parker, both of Mobile, George Parker of Greenville, SC and Charles Parker of Tennessee; grandchildren, Kelsey Martin, Emily O'Dell, Elisabeth O'Dell, Elena O'Dell; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 1999 at 1PM from the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 1999 from 5-8PM at Pine Crest Funeral Home. Mr. Willie Partee, Jr.:
Age 62. A native of Carlton, AL, resident of Prichard, AL, departed this life on Thursday, November 25, 1999 at a local nursing facility. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Evelyn Partee; six children, Theresa (Hervey) Hayes, Meshell (Junior) Battles, Idella Partee, Shedrick (Myoshia) Partee, Tonjua Partee, and Nicole York; a devoted mother, Mrs. Theresa Partee; two sisters, Nina Carroll and Dorothy Simon; one brother, Charles Partee; four brothers-in-law, Elijah Peters, West Peters, Robert Peters and Henry Peters; three sisters-in-law, Rosa Stewart, Sally Pettway and Deloris Frenchroy; fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several aunts, Queen Burrell, Willie Mae Adams, Elvira Bell, and Annie Mae Davis; uncles, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and host of other wonderful relatives and friends. Mr. Leon (Skillet) Powe:
A native of Camden, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL departed this life on Sunday, November 28, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Melanie Powe; one loving and devoted daughter, Ms. Katina M. Powe; a devoted grandmother, Mrs. Bonnetta Blackmore; aunts, Mrs. Francis Blackmore both of Mobile, AL, Mrs. Texanne (Rufus) Stevenson of Birmingham, AL; uncles, James Belford Spratling of Rochester, NY, Albert (Martha) Archie of Avon, NY and Humphrey Moore, of Mobile, AL; seven devoted sisters-in-law, five devoted brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, three devoted, Leroy Rivers, Norman (Coldwater) Williams and Darryl Holt. Mr. Forrest Terrell Pugh:
Age 101, a native of Grove Hill, Alabama, and a longtime resident of Pascagoula, MS, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999 in Pascagoula. Mr. Pugh was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Jackson County, MS for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Doris Bowles of Grant's Pass, Oregon; three sons, Clifford Pugh of Grand Bay, AL, Kimbrowgh Pugh of Grant's Pass, Oregon, and Willard Pugh of Eagle Point, Oregon; his step-daughters, Voncile Smith of Lucedale, MS, and Pat Parker of Vancleave, MS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 1999 at 10:00 A.M. from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Mr. Samuel Kenneth Roe:
A native of Brewton, AL died Tuesday, November 30, 1999 in a Birmingham Hospital. He was a student at Troy State University and was an Eagle Scout in Troop 31 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow and a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, Thurman and Dorothy Roe (Barnetts Crossroads); grandmother, Flossie Roe, Grove Hill, AL; brother, Ben (Brandie) Roe, Barnetts Cross Roads; a niece, Victoria Roe. Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home, Friday, December 3, 1999 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 1999 at the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mrs. Mildred Glenn Rose Whitehead:
A native of Flat Top, WV and a resident of Mobile died Thursday, December 2, 1999 in a local hospital. She is survived by one sister, Nell Jean Davis, Pensacola, FL; three daughters, Judie Ann Jones, Beckley, WV, Patricia Jo Heath, Pensacola, FL, and Nancy Jane Wettermark, Mobile; four granddaughters, Kellie Lee Meyers, Burlingame, CA, Lindsay Leigh Hosney, Pensacola, FL, Elise Epling Wettermark and Sarah Boyce Wettermark, both of Mobile; one great granddaughter, Dylan Rose Meyers, Burlingame, CA; and her devoted four-footed companion, Luci Rose. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 3, 1999, 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Lung Assoc.
