A native of Prichard, AL and resident of Raleigh-Durham, NC died Wednesday, December 1, 1999. She was a 1972 graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School and worked as a supervisor for MCI Communications Network. She was preceded in death by her father, Percy L. Montgomery, brother, William Montgomery, and a god-child, William Hayes, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Jeffery Hinkson, Raleigh-Durham, NC; a devoted mother, Nell Montgomery; three sisters, Doris (Leon) Jones, Cynthia (Jimmy) Smith, all of Prichard, AL, and Clara (Eric) Smith, West Palm Beach, FL; four brothers, Bennie (Josephine), Daphne, AL, Percy, Jr. (Catherine), and Charles Montgomery, both of Mobile, AL, and Isaac (Carol) Montgomery, V irginia Beach, VA; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; a devoted aunt, Della Friend, Mobile, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church on Monday, December 6, 1999 from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral hour with Rev. Paul Anderson of Raleigh, NC officiating, Rev. Robert Emanuel, Jr., Pastor. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Memorial Garden. Funeral arrangements by REESE FUNERAL HOME, 925 Bessemer Ave., Prichard, AL.
Mr. Rush Lawrence Mauney:
Funeral services were held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home Dauphin Street on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at 10:00 AM officiated by Rev. Charles Wood, scripture readings were offered by Mrs. Libby Badon. Pallbearers were Melvin Badon, Charles Gibbons, Donald Harris, Ron Sullivan, Arlen Jones, Gene Welsh, Curtis Smith and Jimmy Jay. Mrs. Phyllis Schaffer McEvoy:
A native and resident of Mobile, AL died on Friday, December 3, 1999 in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morgan McEvoy, Jr. She is survived by six children, Carrie McEvoy, John McEvoy, Zachry McEvoy, all of Mobile, Shirley Dawn Ammons, Robert Morgan McEvoy III, Shawn Anthony McEvoy, all of Virginia; two sisters, Maybelline Williams of Mobile and Edna Manning of Grand Bay; five grandchildren, Mason McEvoy, Danny Harwell, Stephen Harwell, William Ammons, Gabby Ammons; and other relatives. Visitation will be held from the funeral home on Sunday, December 5, 1999 from 5-8 PM. Rosary will be said at 7 PM. Graveside services and interment will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens on Monday, December 6, 1999 at 10 AM. Mrs. Marjorie "Betty" Cain Nolan:
A native of Bayou La Batre and a resident of Semmes died Friday, December 3, 1999. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, December 6, 1999 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Bayou La Batre. Interment will take place in Oddfellows Cemetery. Mr. Michael David Overbey:
Funeral services were held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael J. Sreboth officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Bailey, Andrew Browning, Thomas Kirk, Jim Lincoln, Virgil Russell and Quentin Smith. Mrs. Melissa Biggs Redd:
Age 31 - A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Friday, December 3, 1999 at a local hospital after a short bout with cancer. She was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Murphy High School. She was a loving mother to her children and a hard working wife who always put her family's care and needs before her own. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Redd; daughter, Taylor Marie Redd; son, Josh Redd; stepdaughter, Joanna Redd; stepson, Adam Redd of Akron, Ohio; father, Michael A. (Linda) Biggs, Sr. of Mobile; mother, Rosemarie (Charles) Seeley of Chickasaw, AL; sister, Cynthia Hollingsworth of Chickasaw; brothers, Gary Seeley of Chickasaw, Mark (Melanie) Biggs of Mobile and Michael (Melanie) Biggs, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Two very special friends who were by her side during her illness, Pam Molyneux and Angie Surgenor. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, December 6, 1999 at 12 noon with interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens. A native of Georgiana, AL and longtime resident of Chickasaw, died on Friday, December 3, 1999 at a local hospital. She is survived by one son, Joseph R. (Sylvia) Thames of Chickasaw; two daughters, Virgie Trawick of Saraland and Lynette Watson of Chickasaw; one sister, Eura Bell Baggett of Monroeville, AL; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Monday, December 6, 1999 at 10AM. Visitation will be 5PM-8PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.
