She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline (Levi) Robertson and Tangela (Jesse) Holloway; two sons, Laporis (Victoria) Kyser, Gregory (Cynthia) Kyser, 11 grandchildren, one devoted, Tanuneca Williams, 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Johnalisa Broadnax; one brother, Dru Broadnax; a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated Monday, December 6, 1999 at 11:00 AM from St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Bayou La Batre with Rev. Patrick Madden officiating. Minister in the Sanctuary was Rev. Scott Hohn. Pallbearers were Dustin Nolan, Justin Bachmann, Phillip Bachmann, Vernon Bennett, David Lanie Sr., and David Lanie Jr. Interment was in Oddfellows Cemetery. Age 55 of Ocean Springs, MS died Monday, December 6, 1999, in Ocean Springs, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and Mobile, AL and co-owner of P. and P. Construction, Inc. She was preceded in death by father, R.C. Blackwell. She is survived by husband, Kenneth R. Patterson of Ocean Springs, MS; (2) daughters, Deana Blackwell Bush of Gautier, MS and Opal Ann Patterson, Ocean Springs, MS; one son, Ray C. Patterson, Ocean Springs, MS; mother, Opal A. Blackwell, Mobile, AL; two sisters, Glenda Logan of Mobile, AL, Joy Nash of Mobile, AL; grandson, Christopher Bush of Gautier, MS; granddaughter, Amy Bush of Gautier, MS. Mr. Oscar "Big Man" Rainey:
The youngest of four children born to James F. and Dina Rainey on October 15, 1908, departed this life on December 2, 1999 in Brooklyn, NY. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces in June of 1945. Oscar was a lover of people, cars, and most of all, life. He leaves to mourn, a very devoted niece/foster daughter, Alfreda (Donnell) Washington; Grand niece/granddaughter, Aisha Washington; two very devoted nephews/grandsons, Reginald L. (Brenda) Poole and Eric Turner; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Seals, McIntosh, AL, Edna Killingsworth, Oakland, CA and Bessie Rainey, Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Osband Johnson, McIntosh, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Miss Elizabeth Hope Sanford:
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died at her home on Sunday, December 5, 1999. She was a 1994 graduate of Shaw High School where she played Basketball. She received an associate degree from Faulkner State and was a junior at the University of South Alabama. She is survived by her mother, Zella Paulette Johns of Mobile; her father, Paul T. Sanford of Bay Minette, AL; a brother, Paul T. Sanford, Jr. (Carrie) of Mobile; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Robertson (Zella) of Mobile; other relatives and many friends. Mr. Harry M. Saranthus, Jr.:
A native of Mobile and resident of Saraland died on Sunday, December 5, 1999 at the family residence. Mr. Saranthus was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Infantry 3rd Division, Old Guard, Washington, D.C. He was Owner, Manager of Southeast Wood Fiber, L.L.C. Mobile, Alabama. He retired after 25 years with Scott Paper Company as Manager of the Southeast Woodlands-West Operations Division, Mobile, Alabama. He was Past Vice President and President of the Mississippi Forestry Association and served on the Executive Board. He was a member of the Board of Trustees at the University of Mobile and Director of Peoples Bank. Mr. Saranthus is survived by his wife, Nell Nall Saranthus; one son, Joel Thomas Saranthus; one brother, Jerry W. Saranthus. Visitation will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, December 7, 1999 from 5-8PM. Funeral services will be held from Shiloh Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 8, 1999 at 12 noon.
