Mrs. Mary Eugena Smith:
A native of Jackson, MS and lifelong resident of Mobile died Thursday, December 2, 1999 at a Birmingham, AL Hospital. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Marvin Smith, Jr. of Mobile; one son, Sebastian Lewis of Mobile; one daughter, Mallory Lorraine Smith of Mobile; her mother, Trisha Butler; five sisters, Cindy Butler, Laurie Butler, Judy Butler, Genny Blalock and Linda Lewis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at 12 noon from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 10AM until service time. Arrangements by SERENITY FUNERAL HOME, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Mobile, AL

Mrs. Mattie Lou Thames:
Funeral services were held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Monday, December 6, 1999 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Don Campbell officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Watson and Edgar Polk. Active pallbearers were Jim Trawick, Keith Trawick, Mark Trawick, Joe Thames, Alan Thames and Heath Thames. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements were by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL.

Mrs. Jane Josephine Tibbetts:
A native of Marlboro, MA and a resident of Mobile, AL died on Sunday, December 5, 1999 in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Tibbetts. She is survived by one son, Edward R. Tibbetts of Mobile, AL; and a special friend, Sylvia Walton of Mobile, AL; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 8, 1999 from St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL.

John Louis Tucker:
A native of Pine Barron, Florida and resident of Bayou La Batre, Alabama, died December 6, 1999 in the Grand Bay Convalescent Home. He was 85 years old. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bayou La Batre, Alabama and was retired from the City of Bayou La Batre Water Works. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile Sprinkle Tucker. He is survived by one son, Walter M. Butler, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Sarah Butler; three grandsons, Walter M. (Julie) Butler, Jr., Birmingham, Alabama, Rhett Butler, and Whitney Butler, Bayou La Batre, Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Andy and Elizabeth Butler; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 1999 from 5-8 PM at First Baptist Church, Bayou La Batre, Alabama. The funeral will be noon Wednesday from the church. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. Arrangements by SERENITY FUNERAL HOME, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Mobile, AL

Mildred Luker White:
Born December 24, 1910 in Salitpa, AL and a resident of Mobile for 66 years, died Sunday, December 5, 1999. She is the daughter of the late Robert Straugher Luker and Lucinda (Lucy) Elizabeth Digman Luker. She is survived by one daughter, Fredda White-Crenshaw of Destin, FL; two grandsons, George Roland Crenshaw, III, and Luker Keith White Crenshaw, both of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Lucille Luker Centanni, Saraland, AL, Ella Faire Luker Sasser, Crestview, FL, and Mary Catherine Franklin Luker, Brewton, AL; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 7, 1999 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum, Pine Crest Cemetery on Wednesday, December 8, 1999 at 11:00 AM. The family will also receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM in The Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 808 Downtowner Blvd, Suite G, Mobile, AL 36609 or Pressley Street Baptist Church Children's Program, 903 South Pressley Street, Atmore, AL 36502. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bailey:
Born January 16, 1907 in Ozark, AL, and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died on Monday, December 6, 1999 at home in Semmes, AL. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, a member of the Community Service Committee, and served for Loaves & Fishes. She is survived by four daughters, Media Hendrick of Mobile, AL, Sarah Sullivan of Saraland, AL, Mary Emma Ray of Semmes, AL, Patsy Jo Burke of Saraland, AL; one sister, Mrs. Bannie Burt of Montgomery, AL; two step-sons, Ben & John Wesley Bailey of Eight Mile, AL; one step-daughter, Dorothy Ketchum of Eight Mile, AL; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, December 8, 1999 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be celebrated in the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Thursday, December 9, 1999 at 12:00 Noon followed by interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, AL.

Mr. Orville T. Betancourt:
Age 86. A native and lifelong resident of Mobile died Tuesday, December 7, 1999 peacefully at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Sarah Cieutat Betancourt and Blygh Alexander Betancourt; two brothers, Robert G. Betancourt and Peter D. Betancourt. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Thelma Wells Betancourt, of Mobile; children, Thaddeus Orville Betancourt Jr. of Montgomery, Kathleen Betancourt (Thomas) Tucker of Birmingham, Susan Betancourt (Rodger) Glass of Mobile, Deborah Sarah Betancourt (Carlton) Thompson of Mobile; grandchildren, Valerie Tucker (Matt) Cross of Birmingham, Jason Thad Betancourt of Cullman, AL, Melissa Gail Betancourt of Cullman, Thomas Lee Tucker Jr. of Birmingham, Torey Kristen Glass of Mobile; great-grandchildren, Daniel Betancourt of Cullman, Madison Gray Cross of Birmingham; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, December 9, 1999 in Pine Crest Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon, Thursday at the funeral home. Gifts in memory of Orville T. Betancourt may be made to Allen Memorial Home, 735 South Washington Avenue, Mobile, AL 36603.
