A native of Gosport, AL and resident of Mobile, AL for many years departed this life Thursday, December 9, 1999. She was a faithful member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Mobile where she served in the Sunday School and Senior Choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander James. She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Edward L. James; four daughters, Ola (Rev. Henry H.) Jones, Jr., Delma (Edward) Warmack of Mobile, Lucille (Jarvis) Chatman, Prichard, AL and Clayrea (Herman) Thames, Wilmer, AL; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, three devoted cousins, Carrie Ely, Ollie L. Hollins and Elena Stevenson and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 16, 1999 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 609 S Warren St, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour with Rev. Tracy Rene' Kountz:
A Native of Wilmer, Alabama died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at a local hospital. She was a member of the West Mobile Jaycees, the Deep South Girl Scout Council, and Semmes Ball Park. She had also served in the Army, and was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Timbo Kountz; three children, Misty Kountz, Jesse Kountz, and Candace Kountz, one step-daughter, Heather Kountz; one sister, Stacy Karl, her mother, Jewell Dean Howell; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Snow Rd. from 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Ch urch. Interment will be in Wilmer Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at all Regions Banks.
Mrs. Carolyn Glover McDonough:
Age 61. A native of San Marino, CA. and a longtime resident of Mobile, passed away Monday, December 13, 1999 at a local hospital. She attended Vanderbilt University. A member of Christ Episcopal Church, she was head of the altar guild. She was also a longtime member of the Mobile Infirmary auxiliary, Providence Hospital auxiliary and the Junior League of Mobile. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Lee Lee & Cliff Brady of Mobile, AL, Lisa & Tom Howick of Marietta, GA, and West & Jim Flanagan of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by her mother, Lucy Y. Glover of San Marino, CA; one sister, Barbara G. Tucker of Aptos, CA; one brother, Thomas Y. Glover of Beverly Hills, CA; her former husband, William L. McDonough of Orange Beach, AL; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 10:00am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am. Ms. Frances McInnis McGraw:
Private graveside funeral services were held on Sunday, October 31, 1999 at 2:00 PM at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Terry Charlton officiating. Ms. McGraw died October 29, 1999 at Mercy Medical of Mobile after a battle with cancer. Survivors include 3 children, Anne Favre of Chalmette, LA, Gene Brantley of Stafford, TX, and Carol Manning of Pensacola, FL; 4 stepchildren, James McGraw of Montgomery, AL, Joan Middleton of Walker, LA, Charles McGraw of Winston-Salem, NC, and Faye Troxler of Metairie, LA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Mr. Myrick F. Prouty:
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died at his residence on Monday, December 13, 1999. Mr. Prouty retired from Dwight W. Prouty Co., Inc. as Vice President. He was a graduate of Murphy High School in 1955. A longtime member of the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. in Miami, FL and Mobile, AL and also a member of several quartets. A member, and elder of the Gathering Place Christian Church. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Janet Prouty of Mobile, AL; Two sons, Keith Prouty of Mobile, AL and Scott Prouty of New York City, New York; daughter, Gail Chipman of Brighton, TN; brothers, L.E. Prouty, Jr. of Spanish, Ft. Thomas A. Robinson:
A native of Holt, AL and a longtime resident of Theodore, died at a local hospital on Tuesday, December 14, 1999. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Post 76 and Post 250 and was a member of VFW Post #49 and Post #4328. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Ann Robinson and a sister, Jean Robinson and is survived by his children, Gordon T. (Donna) Robinson of Belle Fountaine and Shelly Robinson (Michael) Winters of Theodore; his mother, Edna Mae Robinson of Theodore; sister, Marilyn Landrum of Mobile; brothers, Arthur (Joan) Robinson of Robertsdale and Donald Robinson of Deridder, LA; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 10:00 A.M. with interment in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
