Mrs. Claudia Scott:
A native Jay, FL and a resident of Mobile for many years, died at a local hospital on Sunday, December 12, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Scott and granddaughter, Lynn Robinson. She is survived by her son, Gilbert (Kathy) Scott of Mobile; devoted sister, Maudie DuBourg of Mobile; grandchildren, Robin Wilson and Mark Scott; great grandchildren, Albert Robinson, Ashley Griffith, Ryan Andrews, Holly Andrews, Justin Scott and Daniel Williams; one great great grandchild, Rachel Williams; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 11 AM from the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home. Mrs. Nancy L. Smith:
A native of Anniston, AL and a longtime resident of Eight Mile, died at her home on Sunday, December 12, 1999. She was a teacher with the Day Care Program through the University of Mobile and was a member of Smithtown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Richard A. Smith, Jr. and a son, Richard A. Smith III. She is survived by her Children, Cecil Wayne Smith, Sherri Kay Browning, Daniel Franklin Smith and Rebecca Lynn Neighbors, all of Mobile; brothers, James Carpenter of Chickasaw, and Richard Cotten of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Sandra Barber of Pell City, Gayle Stasiak of Saraland and Pat Cain of Maryland; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. from Smithtown Baptist Church with interment in Smithtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 1PM-2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Semmes, AL died Monday, December 13, 1999. Mr. Stringer is survived by one daughter, Helen (Brian) Sutton of Mobile, AL; two sons, Lee (Laurie) Nichols of Semmes, AL and Johnny Stringer of Semmes, AL.; five grandchildren; his mother, Vivienne George Stringer; one sister, Juanita (Wayne) Hall of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Darrel (Carolyn) Stringer of Mobile, AL. and Larry (Kim) Stringer of San Antonio, TX; other relatives and many friends. A 1928 native of Frankville, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL departed this life Saturday, December 11, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Dave and Georgian Watts. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Mrs. Diane Watts of Mobile, AL; two sons, Mr. Timmie Watts, Shawn (Charlene) Felts of Mobile; six daughters, Shelia, Georgian, Carrie Watts of New York, Vivian and Samantha Felts and Gevena (Terry) Dunn all of Mobile; one loving sister, Mrs. Della Duff of Butler, AL; 17 grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ella King, Justine Robinson and Sarah Purifoy all of Mobile, AL; eight brothers-in-law, Thomas (Celia) Felts, James (Annie) Felts, Johnnie Felts, Luther (Maxine) Felts, Jacob (Verna) Felts, and Oscar Felts all of Hattiesburg, MS, Richard (Jaonette) Felts of Des Moine, Iowa and Rufus Felts of Emperor, Kansas; a host of nieces and nephews, devoted, Ann Henderson of Cullomburg, AL and Eric (Tawanda) Felts of Mobile; a host of friends, devoted, Lester Kidd of Cincinatti, OH, and Abraham Mixon of Mobile, AL, Becky Major and the American Red Cross, Mrs. Voncille H. A native of Yazoo City, MS and a resident of Mobile County for the past 56 years went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at a local hospital at the age of 86. She was a member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Joseph Collins. She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted daughter, Vera Collins (Lamar) Jones, of Eight Mile; a lifelong family friend, Pat Sims of Loxley, AL; one brother, Lester Layton Johnston, of Yazoo City, MS; one sister, Eunice Johnston Culipher, of Canton, MS; four loving grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
