Mr. Aaron Clark Tedder:
A native of Brewton, AL and a resident of Mobile for the past 14 years died in a local hospital on Tuesday, December 14, 1999. Mr. Tedder retired as a lieutenant with the Alabama State Troopers after 33 years of service. He was a Mason and an Army Veteran of World War II. Mr Tedder was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy C. Tedder. He is survived by his wife, Odeen Tedder, Mobile; Daughter, June (Dale) Martin, Mobile; Sister, Josephine Barnes, Mobile; 3 Brothers, Sam Tedder, East Brewton, Wilkie Tedder, Julian Tedder, both of Silverhill; 2 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and other Relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, December 17, 1999 at 2 pm. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Vance Sparks Allen:
Age 64, a native of Jasper, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL for the past 43 years died at a local hospital, Wednesday, December 15, 1999. She was a retired principal and teacher of the Mobile County Public School System. During her career, she was principal at Scarborough and Orchard; a Reading Resource Teacher for South Mobile County and taught at Orchard Elementary. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, James J. Allen, Sr.; four children, James J. (Carolyn) Allen, Jr., Denise A. (Roger) Clark, Charles B. (Robbin) Allen, and Virginia V. Allen, all of Mobile; seven grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Benitez, James J. Allen, III, Heather Lynn Casteel, William Blake Clark, William Jesse Clark, Patrick Drake Clark, and Troie Beth Ours; two sisters, Linda (H. Wayne) Walker of Birmingham, AL and Leigh Price of Biloxi, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18 at 10 a.m. in Pine Crest Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday, December 17 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Annie Bell Wright Black:
Born September 14, 1903 in Manila, AL and longtime resident of Choctaw Bluff, died Saturday, December 11, 1999 at a local nursing facility, after an extended illness. Mrs. Black was the eighth child born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wright of Manila. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Henderson Black; and her nephew, Willie Lee Wright, Sr. She served as church clerk at New Canaan Baptist Church. Her survivors include a grand-nephew who served as her caregiver, Thornal D. Wright; five stepchildren, 26 grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 1999 from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral hour at the New Canaan Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff. Pastor Willie Griffin will officiate. Mr. James Dale:
Born August 18, 1921 in Wilcox County (Oak Hill), AL to the late Julia Tallworth and Zolly Jackson departed this life on Friday, December 10, 1999. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Burns. He leaves behind a wife, Evelyn Dale of Cleveland, OH; one daughter, Mary Dale Robinson of Prichard, AL; one granddaughter, Vatina Robinson of Mobile, AL; one great granddaughter, Montavia Robinson Henderson; two sisters, Annie G. Dale of Pensacola, FL, Mary Alice Perkins of Mobile, AL, one aunt, Pearlie Grins of Oak Hill, AL; one devoted cousin, McArther Ward of Mobile, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Booker T. Davis:
A native of Grand Ridge, FL and resident of Mobile, AL for many years departed this life Sunday, December 12, 1999. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp having served in the Korean Conflict and a retired Principal at Whistler Elementary School. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mrs. Ruby H. Davis; two daughters, Ms. Vicki Davis and Ms. Akimulisa Davis; one grandchild, Jordan T. Davis; mother, Mrs. Cherry L. Albert Newton Doughman:
Died December 15, 1999, he was a native of Fort Wayne, IN and a resident of Mobile for many years. He served 31 years in the United States Air Force and 12 years in Civil Service. He was a member of Navco Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, Finance Committee, a Trustee and Sunday School Director, as well as Sunday School Adult Teacher. He was very active until the on-set of Parkinson Disease and was forced to resign. He continued to serve the Lord as Deacon Emeritus until he was hospitalized. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Ann Russell of Houston, TX and his parents, James Albert Doughman and Berneden Doughman. He is survived by his wife, Judith W. Doughman; one daughter, Debra Sue (Eddie) Holland; two sons, Donald Phillips Doughman of Minneapolis, MN and Bobby Albert (Patty) Doughman of Fairhope, AL; nine grandchildren, Jonathan and Katie Doughman, Benjamin Doughman and Suzanne Doughman, all of Fairhope, AL, Lance Lyle and Lee Russell of Houston, TX, Nicole and Kimberly Holland of Mobile; other relatives and many friends. Born May 6, 1963, died the morning of Thursday, December 16, 1999 in her home. She was a member of Wilmer United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Wilmer, AL. She is survived by her parents, T. Robley and Eleanor H. Evans of Wilmer; her grandfather, E. Bruce Hobby of Warner Robbins, GA; one brother, Greg (Alison) Evans of Wilmer; three sisters, Brenda (Dawson) Wilkerson of Petal, MS, Julie (Kevin) Holland of Wilmer and Stephanie Evans of Wilmer.
