Thomas Taylor Jr.
Thomas Watkins Taylor Jr., owner of Taylor Machinery, died Thursday at a local hospital at the age of 45.
The Pikeville, Tenn., native lived in Mobile since 1983. He was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Kimberly Mary Taylor, Kelly Brown Taylor, Mary Watkins Taylor and Thomas Hudson Taylor, all of Mobile; his mother, Mary Taylor Foster of Mobile; three sisters, Mary Jayne Dobbins of Tulsa, Okla., Susan Thames of Samson, Ala., and Emily Jones of Mobile.
Arrangements will be announced by Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.

Gerritt D. Orsburn
Gerritt Donahue Orsburn, a Tampa, Fla., native and a Semmes resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital after suffering from seizures. He was 2.
Survivors include his mother, Penny Mountain of Semmes; two sisters, Bethanie Barber and Wavie Barber, both of Semmes; one brother, Stephen Barber of Semmes; his grandparents, Ina and Harry Orsburn of Mobile; and his great-grandmother, Wavie Orsburn of Mobile.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. today in Mobile Memorials Gardens.

Clyde M. Kelly
Clyde M. Kelly, who retired from Brookley Field as an aircraft welder, died Thursday in a local hospital. He was 77.
Kelly, a native of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., lived in Mobile since 1943. After retiring, he operated his own shop, Kelly's Garage and Welding.
A guitarist, he was known in local music circles and was a member of the local musicians union.
Survivors include his wife, Majorie Johnson Kelly of Mobile; two sons, Freddie Lee Kelly of Eight Mile and Bob J. Kelly of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Kathryn Guyton of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, William Charles Kelly of Taylor, Mich., and Lanny Kelly of Montevallo, Ala.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with services at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.

Fred Mitchell
CHICAGO - Fred Mitchell, a native of Mobile and resident of Chicago for 53 years, died Monday at his home.
Among his survivors are his wife, Willie Mae Mitchell of Chicago; and two children, Lanisa Abrams and Deantwuan Abrams, both of Chicago.
Visitation will be at Corbin Colonial Funeral Chapel in Chicago on Jan. 23 from 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. services. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, Ill.

Ellis Turner
PORT ARTHUR, Texas - Ellis Ray Turner, a native of Mobile, died Sunday in a Houston hospital at the age of 58.
Survivors include his son, Tony Fitshard of Huntsville; his father, Daniel Cooley Sr. of Whistler; three sisters, two brothers; his companion, Carol Jacqueline Jones of Port Arthur; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be at First Sixth Street Baptist Church in Port Arthur on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery with Gabriel Funeral Home of Port Arthur in charge.

Ledger S. Diamond
Ledger Stien Diamond, a Prichard native and a member of Toulminville-Warren Street United Methodist Church, died Tuesday at the age of 79.
Diamond retired as the first vice president of the Laborers International Union of North America in Washington, D.C., after 30 years of service.
After retirement, he operated a business and became involved in numerous civic activities in the community.
Survivors include his wife, Clastine Diamond; four daughters, Maxine Mamon of North Hollywood, Calif., Bernadette Paul of Pittsburgh, Ledgetuanice Diamond of Huntsville and Takaiya D. Johnson of Mobile; two sons, Vaughan Ousley and Pathro Diamond, both of Mobile; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be after 11 a.m. today at Toulminville-Warren Street United Methodist Church, 2271 St. Stephens Road, where visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the 1 p.m. services. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.

Lesley M. Hayes
Lesley M. Hayes, who worked for five years as a tankerman for Brown Marine Co., died Tuesday at his home. He was 49.
Hayes a was a native of Killeen, Texas, and longtime resident of Mobile County.
Survivors include one son, Andy Hayes of Lucedale, Miss.; one daughter, Memphis H. Hubbart of Eight Mile; one brother, Ellon G. Hayes of Theodore; one sister, Effie Wiggins of Grand Bay; and one grandchild.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. today in Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with visitation at the cemetery from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street is in charge of arrangements.
