Theresa C. Heenan
CITRONELLE - Theresa Constance Heenan, a homemaker and Citronelle resident, died Jan. 8 at a local health care facility. She was 93.
Mrs. Heenan was a Thorpe, Wis., native. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
She is survived by a niece, Vivian M. Szurgot of Hollywood, Fla.
Graveside services took place Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill.

John W. Henderson
John Wesley Henderson, who had worked as a truck driver, died Jan. 8 at the age of 66.
Henderson, a Dallas County native and Mobile resident, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Henderson; two daughters, Deloris A. Boone and Brenda O'Neal; four sons, Wesley O'Neal, John O'Neal, Johnny O'Neal and Fredrick Novis; three sisters, Ruth Miller, Sarah Johnson and Mary Jones; two brothers, Jim Henderson and Mack Coleman; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, followed by services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Memorial Funeral Home of Prichard is in charge of arrangements.

Oscar W. Neese
Oscar William Neese, a veteran of the U.S. Army, died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 74.
A resident of Eight Mile, Neese had served in World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Sellers Neese of Eight Mile; five children, James Edward Morrow, Alice Lorene Shaw of Citronelle, William Franklin "Buster" Neese and Peggy Darlene Guy, both of Wilmer, and Billy Gene Neese of Eight Mile; one brother, Earl Jake Neese of Valdosta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are set for noon today at Serenity Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery, with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 49.

Stella B. Slaughter
Stella Blount Slaughter, a former elementary school teacher with the Mobile County Public School System, died Thursday at her home. She was 84.
Mrs. Slaughter, a native of Bigbee, Ala., lived in Mobile. She attended Citronelle United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Slaughter of Stone Mountain, Ga., and J. Eugene Slaughter of Citronelle; three daughters, Ruth S. Angaran of Columbus, Ohio, Virginia Luckey of Mobile and Rebecca S. Watson of Eight Mile; two brothers, James K. Blount of Anniston, Ala., and Larry G. Blount of Magnolia; three sisters, Kathleen Lucas of Pensacola, Marie Henson of Wagarville, Ala., and Waurine Williams of Citronelle; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Services are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Citronelle United Methodist Church, with burial in Methodist Cemetery in Citronelle.

Willie Sullivan Sr.
Willie Sullivan Sr., a retiree of Courtaulds Fibers Inc., died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 61.
A native of Selma, Ala., Sullivan was a longtime resident of Saraland, where he was a member of New Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna L. Sullivan; five sons, Frank Sullivan, James Sullivan, Mitchell Sullivan, Melvin Sullivan and Kirk Sullivan; one daughter, Sheila Martin; three brothers, Joe Sullivan, Henry Sullivan and William Sullivan; three sisters, Leola Chandler, Mattie Brown and Louisa Hill; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing is also set after 9 a.m. Monday at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 22 Harris Avenue in Saraland, where visitation will be from noon until the 1 p.m. services. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery.

Walter M. Tanner
Walter M. Tanner, a retired production control supervisor with Ingalls Shipbuilding, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 77.
A native of Wilmer, Tanner was a resident of the Crawford community of Mobile.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
His memberships included the Alabama Cattlemen's Association, the Alabama Landowners Association and the Woodmen of the World. He was an avid hunter.
Tanner was also a member of First Baptist Church of Rocky Creek in Mississippi.
Survivors include one son, William L. Tanner of Lucedale, Miss.; one brother, Eugene J. Tanner of Wilmer; one sister, Margie Chavers of Mobile; and one grandson.
Arrangements are being handled by Sigler Funeral Home in Lucedale.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rocky Creek.

Ed Gwinn Sr.
CHUNCHULA - Ed Gwinn Sr., a lifelong Chunchula resident, died Saturday at a local hospital. The retired Alabama Shipyard welder was 98.
He is survived by five daughters, Edna Margaret Boggess, Rosale Clark and Bernice Jackson, all of Antelope, Calif., Mary E. Green of Fremont, Calif., and Daisy M. Ingallis of Menlo Park, Calif.; one son, Ed Gwinn Jr. of Chunchula; one brother, Henry Lee Gwinn of Chester, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren and five great-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Starlight Baptist Church in Chunchula, with burial in Starlight Cemetery. Arrangements are by Reese Funeral Home in Prichard.
