Charles B. Cummins, Jr.:
Age 72, died Sunday, December 26, 1999 at a local health care facility. He was a native of Lima, Ohio and a resident of Fairhope. Mr. Cummins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairhope. Before retiring, he was employed by McDermott International, New Orleans, LA and Raymond International, Houston, TX as an Offshore Construction Worker. Mr. Cummins is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Cummins of Fairhope; a daughter, Andrea Baker of Summerdale; a sister, Anne M. Lanham of Lenora, NC; two brothers, James D. Cummins of Union City, CA, Jerry A. Cummins of Ono Island, and two grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30, 1999 at 2PM from the Chapel of Bayview Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Colony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairhope or the Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch in memory of Mr. Cummins. Mrs. Vivian G. Davidson:
Age 85. A native of Arcadia, Michigan and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died on Friday, December 24, 1999 at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Davidson. She is survived by 3 daughters; Constance J. (Zeno) Chaudron of Mobile, AL, Darlene H. (Al) Callender of Arizona, Pamela V. (Rick) Doty of Arizona, 1 son; Ronald K. Davidson of Michigan. 1 sister; Yvonne Gilbert of Michigan, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Annie Torrence Eaton:
A native of McKinley, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama died on Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at a local hospital. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church No. 1. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quilla Eaton and two children, Eva Lee and Sammie Lee Eaton. She leaves to cherish her memories, nine sons, William (Vincer) of Detroit, Michigan, Coleman (Marvie), Lonnie (Emile), Earl (Bernice), Fred (Jean), Joseph (Dorothy), Levi (Angela), Warren, Aaron (Darlene) of Mobile, Alabama; two daughters, Lucille Pettway of Detroit, Michigan, Elmira Dickerson of Bessemer, Alabama; twenty-six grandchildren, Cora Lee, Coleman, Jr., Carl, Cedric, Adriene, Johnnie Lee, David, Brenda, Sherrell, Lonnie T., Genera, Jonathan, Sharon, Winfred, Bernard, Wyconda, Cindy, Kathy, Roderick, Kercenia, LaTonya, Tamara, Amber, Kimberly, Nicole and Michelle; two deceased grandchildren, Jennifer and Sandra; thirty seven great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; five brothers, Willie (Maggie) Torrence of Bessemer, Alabama, Robert (Grace) Torrence of Mobile, Alabama, Harvey (Janie), George (Diane), Leon (Gwen) of Buffalo, New York; six sisters, Clara Hampshire, Lessie Torrence, Florence (Rev. Mr. Walter O'Neil English:
A lifelong resident of Mobile died at his home on Sunday, December 26, 1999. He was a member of Navco Baptist Church and retired from the Mobile Press Register in July of 1976. Mr. English was a Charter Member of the Mobile Sheriff's Posse and was well known throughout the southern states as a champion trainer and judge of Tennessee Walking Horses. He was inducted into the Alabama Horsemen's Hall of Fame in 1997. He is preceded in death by his wives, Gertrude N. English and Lillie H. English; his parents, S.W. and Annie Lou English and his only sister, Edna Louise Massey. He is survived by three brothers, Billie English of Brewton, AL, Harold Cortez English of Laurel, MS, and Edd ie Lee English of Mobile. He is also survived by the children and grandchildren of Lillie English who brought joy and happiness to his life. Mr. English is survived by a niece, Patricia M. Chastang and great-nephews, Davey and Donnie Chastang who lovingly cared for him during his last days, other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Robert Freeman Riley:
A native of Camden, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile died Thursday, December 23, 1999 in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Riley was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II. Mr. Riley was preceded in death by his son, Freeman Fitzgerald Riley and granddaughter, Aaliyia Riley. Survivors include his brother, Samuel Riley of North Islands, CA; a niece, Mrs. Bennie M. Riley of Mobile; daughter-in-law, Shirley Riley Seals of Kenner, LA; many other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearer was Max Miller. Active pallbearers were Tunstall Inge, Robert Doyle, Porter Brock, Lester Powell, Frank Brown, and Dr. Bert Eichold.
