Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Mr. Denver R. Sellers:
A native of Coffeeville, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL died at the family residence on Monday, December 27, 1999 at the age of 80. Mr. Sellers was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the Guy T. Smith Lodge #883 F&AM. He is survived by his wife, Virginia T. Sellers; five children, Virginia (Ted) Danford, William R. (Paulette) Sellers, Mark A. (Gale) Sellers, all of Mobile, AL, Cdr. J. Keith (Barbara) Sellers of Corpus Christi, TX, and J. Karen (Ed) Beyers of Glendale, AZ.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nelma Powers of Atmore, AL and Alva Hicks of Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 1999 beginning at 12:00 noon with funeral services following at 2:00pm from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to The World War II Veterans Memorial Fund, Attn: Shirley Butcher, 5245 Service Rd., S. Mobile, AL 36619. Funeral arrangements by MOBILE MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 6040 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL.

Mr. Walter Roderick Tillman:
Funeral services were held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, December 27, 1999 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Dale Murphy and Rev. James Messer officiating. Pallbearers were Jonathan Whittling, Justice Mandrell, Bob Dearmond, Daniel Dearmond, James Dearmond and Dean Mandrell. Interment was in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by MOBILE MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL.

Mrs. Elsa Mae Vaughn:
A native of Coffeyville, KS and longtime resident of Mobile, died on Sunday, December 26, 1999 at the family residence. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of Theodore United Methodist Church since 1954. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. Vaughn. She is survived by three sons, Richard D. "Dick" (Kay) Vaughn of Mobile, Dale (Audrey) Vaughn of Mobile, and David E. (Beverly) Vaughn of Douglasville, GA; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and other relatives. Visitation will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, December 28, 1999 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held from Theodore United Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends in the church from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Medical Hospice. Renita Hall Wade (Bugsy):
Age 48 of Oak Grove and a native of Saraland, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 at the Mobile Infirmary. She was the owner and operator of Bugsy's Trucking. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her father, Howard E. Hall of Satsuma and grandmother, Augusta Mae (Jackie) Coleman of Saraland. Mrs. Wade is survived by her husband, Paul W. Patterson of Oak Grove, AL; mother, Francine H. Hall of Saraland, AL; three daughters, Daphne Wade Hubbard of Northport, AL, Astra Autumn Wade of Mobile, AL and Paula Marie Patterson of Oak Grove, AL; one sister, Reva Hall Lewis of Saraland, AL; two grandsons, Ashton Hall Hubbard of Northport, AL and Charles Jackson Hubbard of Northport, AL; grandfather, Mr. Travis O. Coleman of Saraland, AL; one nephew, Ira E. Lewis, III (Trey); one niece, Heather Paige Lewis; one great nephew, Blakely Alan-Trey Lewis; one great niece, Taylor Elizabeth Lewis. The family will receive friends at the Central Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 225 Hwy. 43, Saraland on Tuesday, December 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to the Dauphin Island Park & Beach Board, 109 Bienville Blvd., Dauphin Island, AL 36528. Cremation arrangements handled by FAIRHOPE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 19698 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL.

Mrs. Doris Elaine Cain "TeTe" Waldrop:
Age 56. A native and lifelong resident of Bayou La Batre died Saturday, December 25, 1999 at a local hospital. Mrs. Waldrop was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cain Sr., and one sister, Marcella Nelson. She is survived by her husband of twenty years, Richard Waldrop, of Bayou La Batre; her mother, Mathilda Cain; four children, Milton Lyons of Irvington, Mathilda Gillespie of Gonzalas, LA, Donna (Glennon) Music of Grand Bay, Donald (Paula) Lyons of Tillman's Corner; four sisters, Mildred Stork, Ann Barnes, Aline Barnes, Margarite McQuaid; two brothers, Paul Cain and Charles Cain Jr.; thirteen grandchildren, one expected great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 10:00 AM from St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Bayou La Batre. The family will receive visitors Tuesday at the church from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. Interment will take place in Oddfellows Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by SERENITY FUNERAL HOME, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Mobile, AL.

Mr. Johnny Larry Able, Sr. (Heart Attack):
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL for 49 years exchanged his life for eternity Wednesday, December 22, 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Able and nephew, Carl Jerome Able, Jr. He is survived by one son, Johnny Able, Jr., three daughters, Shondretta (Akareem) Spears, NaDonna Nicole Black and Tiffany Michele Black, mother & step-father, Jeannette (James) Lee, devoted fiance', Flo Andrews, four brothers, Carl Able, Sr., Tommy Lee Able, Ronald Able all of Mobile, AL, and Wayne Able of Birmingham, AL., two sisters, Glenda Able of Mobile, AL, and Darlene (Robbie) Pickett of Houston, TX, grandmother, Lizzie Johnson, one aunt, Mary Taylor, seven grandchildren, Jasmine Black, Antonio Black, Sabeidre Black, Bob O'Cain, Quintarius Able, Joshua Lewis, Britany Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Devoted friends are members of The Bad Acting CB Club. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Hodges Funeral Chapel and after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 1999 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. J.C. McNeil, Pastor and officiating Minister. Interment will be held in Whispering Pines Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to HODGES FUNERAL CHAPEL, 701 Dr. M. L. King Ave., Mobile, AL.

Mr. Aaron N. Butler:
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, born January 23, 1925 passed Sunday, December 26, 1999. He was a member of Big Zion A.M.E. Zion Church, a former Superintendent of the Sunday School, member of the NAACP, Executive Board of the Progressive Credit Union, also a former President of the National Organization of Letter Carriers. He was very supportive of youth, sponsoring 2 teams of Boys and Girls Baseball. He also assisted financially to sending many young men and women to college. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and a retired Letter Carrier. Survivors are four sisters, Ardell Turner, Harriette Goode, Katheryn Butler of Mobile, AL and Carolyn (Joe) Montgomery of Atmore, AL; three brothers, Wiley N. (Mary) Butler and Marshall Butler of Mobile, AL and Dr. Ralph (Lula) Butler of Houston, TX; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home Wednesday, December 29, 1999 from 12-5pm, after 9am Thursday, December 30, 1999 at Big Zion A.M.E. Zion Church, 112 South Bayou St. Visitation will be from 10 -11am at which time Rev. Eugene Parker, pastor will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Arrangements by CHRISTIAN BENEVOLENT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 201 N. Hamilton St., Mobile, AL., 36603.
