Mrs. Annie Lee Crum:
A native of Wilcox County, Camden, AL and a resident of Mobile for many years. Born June 2, 1919 departed this life Saturday, December 25, 1999 at a local hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, one devoted, Bernice Burroughs, Mamie (Peter) Nunn, Essie (George) Longmire, and Marvie Woodson; eight grandsons, one granddaughter, three devoted grandsons, Mr. Leonard Burroughs, Mr. Melvin Smith and Mr. Johnny Crum. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 1999 from 12 noon until the 2:00 p.m. funeral hour at Blooming Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 354 Highland Ave., Prichard, AL. Rev. A native of Coy, AL and resident of Mobile, born June 27, 1918, passed Saturday, December 25, 1999 at a local hospital. He was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, The Sunrise Lodge #51-A and The Men's Singing Aggregation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Pearl Davis; mother, M. Mary Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories four children, Sarah Horton, Jeanette Smith, Joyce Danzy and Jerry (Gloria) Herrin, all of Mobile, AL; mother-in-law, Pearl Atkins of Greenville, AL; 2 sisters-in-law, Priscilla Gulley of Greenville, AL and Lillie Patterson of Pensacola, FL; 3 brothers-in-law, Jimmie Patterson, Joseph Patterson of Pensacola, FL and Eddie Lee Patterson of Louisiana; 3 nieces, many other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home Wednesday, December 29, 1999 from 12-5pm and after 9am Thursday, December 30, 1999 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 2346 St. James Dr. Visitation will be from 10-11am at w hich time Rev. Mrs Christine Holcombe Demming:
A native of Silas, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL departed this life on Thursday, December 23, 1999 at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Lola Holcombe. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, CSM (retired) Aaron Demming, Sr., two daughters, Wanda Steele and Khristina Demming, two sons, 1st Lt. Aaron Demming, Jr., and Sgt. Jeffrey (Sharon) Demming, six grandchildren, Deskendre, James, Britney, Kimyata, Mark and Brandon, four sisters, Willie V. Ray, Martha (John) Robinson, Alice Holcombe and Autherine (George) Moore, three brothers, Ulysses (Betty) Holcombe, Leon (Geneva) Holcombe, and Willard Holcombe, three sisters-in-law, Vera Feagin, Ruth Golston and Ganell (Peter) Alston, two brothers-in-law, Charles (Reta) Jones and Arthur (Elaine) Demming, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Mr. Walter O'Neil English:
A lifelong resident of Mobile died at his home on Sunday, December 26, 1999. He was a member of Navco Baptist Church and retired from the Mobile Press Register in July of 1976. Mr. English was a Charter Member of the Mobile Sheriff's Posse and was well known throughout the southern states as a champion trainer and judge of Tennessee Walking Horses. He was inducted into the Alabama Horsemen's Hall of Fame in 1997. He is preceded in death by his wives, Gertrude N. English and Lillie H. English; his parents, S.W. and Annie Lou English and his only sister, Edna Louise Massey. He is survived by three brothers, Billie English of Brewton, AL, Harold Cortez English of Laurel, MS, and Eddie Lee English of Mobile. He is also survived by the children and grandchildren of Lillie English who brought joy and happiness to his life. Mr. English is survived by a niece, Patricia M. Chastang and great-nephews, Davey and Donnie Chastang who lovingly cared for him during his last days, other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Born on April 28, 1966 in Mobile, AL. She was the first born of six children to Sis. Martha Jean Glover and Bro. Rex Oliver Jones. She attended Lillie B. Williamson High School. She leaves to cherish her memory a very devoted mother, Sis. Martha Jean (Roosevelt) McMillian; three loving sons, Master Fredrick Glover, Derrick Glover, Clinton Glover, all of Mobile; two sisters, Erica Bonham of Montgomery and Rena Bonham of Mobile; three brothers, Reginald Glover, Marcus Bonham and Michael Bonham, all of Mobile; one beloved grandmother, Mary L. Whitfield of Mobile; one niece, Tyaishas Bonham; one devoted aunt, Neomia (Clinton) Lawson of Mobile; three devoted cousins, Wanda Rankin, Clinton Lawson, Jr. and Maurice Lawson, all of Mobile; two of many friends, Sis.
