Officiating was Rev. Ernest L. Quinley, Rev. Wes Hall and Rev. Ruth Penton.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Randy Dotson, Dr. Lee Irvin and Jacob Moore.
Pallbearers were Robin Lynch, Shawn Doggette, Lt. Michael Doggette USN, Jason Smith, Paul Dutruch, Willard Ryals.
Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Nellie Dowdle:
A native of Hazelhurst, MS and a resident of Grand Bay died Thursday, December 30, 1999.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Dowdle; one daughter, Diane (Edwin) Taylor of Grand Bay; four sons, Jimmy Dowdle of Ft. Worth, TX, Dewayne Dowdle of Theodore, Stan Dowdle of Palacios, TX and Dale Dowdle of Grand Bay; one step-daughter, Marcia Coates of Mobile; one step-son, Rebel Dowdle of San Angelo, TX; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Priest and Billy "Tubby" Priest; two sisters, Marie Wallace and Barbara Ann Wiley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, December 31, 1999 from 5-8PM at Serenity Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 1, 2000 at 2PM from the chapel.
Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Harry C. McGehee, Sr.:
Native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at a local hospital.
Mr. McGehee was retired from Gulf Distributing Company and a member of the first Mobile County Sheriff's Department Posse.
Mr. McGehee was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle McGehee and son, Harry C. McGehee, Jr.
He is survived by his son, Danny (Jane) McGehee of Pace, FL and daughter, Judy (Ken) Hager of Mobile; one sister, Helen (Charles) Chrenko of Lillian, AL; five grandchildren, Marybeth (Edgar Gene) Miller, Daniel (Amy) McGehee, and Michael McGehee, all of Mobile and Jennifer and Matthew McGehee of Pace, FL; one step-grandson, Dan Henbree of Atlanta, GA; two great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Anna Miller of Mobile; a devoted friend, Fred Baird; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 31, 1999 from 12 noon till 2 PM with funeral services scheduled at 2 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Mr. George Wheeler Singley:
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile died Wednesday December 29, 1999 in a local hospital.
He retired from the G.M.&O. Railroad after 20 years of service.
He was a Captain of the Seven Hill Fire Dept. and was on the Board of Trustees.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann M. Singley and a son, George Dwight Singley.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Wheeler Singley of Mobile, daughters, Cathy Wood of Pensacola, FL and Debra Hendrickson of Virginia, a son, Steve Leonard of Virginia, a brother, Braxton Singley of Mobile and an aunt, Mildred Bryars of Mobile, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Sunday January 2, 2000 at 2pm.
Interment will be in Whistler Cemetery.
The visitation will be Saturday January 1, 2000 from 1 till 3pm and then from 6pm till 8pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Louise Halstad Thomas:
Born October 16, 1917 in Port Chester, NY, died in a local nursing facility on Wednesday, December 29, 1999.
Mrs. Thomas lived in California from 1920 until 1977 and was a resident of Mobile since 1977.
She is survived by four children, Mary St. Clair of Jacksonville, NC, Bob Thomas of Fairhope, AL, Janet Laurence of Mobile, AL and Annie Prosser of Honokaa, HI; four sisters, Rita Grode of Laverne, CA, Bobbie Grode of Ramona, CA, Frances Herman of San Clemente, CA and Jane Halsted of California; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated from Little Flower Catholic Church on Saturday, January 1, 2000 at 10:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allen Memorial Home, 735 South Washington Ave., Mobile, AL 36603.
