Leve J. Anderson
Leve Junior Anderson, who joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age, died Wednesday at his home. He was 61.
Anderson, a native of Leroy, Ala., resided in Prichard.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anderson of San Diego; five daughters, Patricia Anderson and Thelma Smith, both of Anaheim, Calif., Gwendolyn Anderson of Santa Ana, Calif., Charlotte Anderson of Dallas, and Jennifer Anderson of New York; a sister, Emmer Jenkins of Mobile; three brothers, Wallace Holcombe of Mobile, Love Anderson of Detroit and Douglas Anderson of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard on Saturday from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Union Cemetery in Leroy.

E.L. 'Sonny' Kervin
E.L. "Sonny" Kervin, a former Alabama state trooper, died Wednesday at his home. He was 59.
Kervin, a lifelong Mobilian, had retired from state trooper duty after 28 years of service. He once served as an escort for Gov. George Wallace.
The U.S. Marine Corps veteran served two tours of duty in Vietnam and earned several medals for his service. He was a former boxer in Mobile.
Kervin also played football for McGill-Toolen Institute and went on to play for the University of Alabama during the Paul "Bear" Bryant era.
He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and several mystic societies.
Survivors include his father, E.A. Kervin of Mobile, and his fiancee, Lynn Elliott of Mobile.
Visitation will be at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway this evening from 5 to 8, with the rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial is set for noon Saturday at Little Flower Catholic Church, with burial at Pine Crest Cemetery.

Victor Lee Myers
Victor Lee Myres, a lifelong Mobilian, died Wednesday at a Baldwin County hospice. He was 52.
Survivors include his wife, Sherri Myres of Mobile; his children, Bridgette Wood of Jacksonville, Fla., and Braxton Myres of Loxley; a stepson, David Williford of Mobile; two brothers, Lloyd Myres of Portsmouth, Va., and James Myres of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Louise Myres of Sun City, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. services begin at Pine Crest Funeral Home.
The family prefers memorials made to Mercy Medical Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
John Orth
John Orth, who had worked as a pier policeman with the Alabama State Docks, died Wednesday at a local health care facility.
Orth, a native of New York, resided in Mobile for the past 33 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two daugh ters, Joanann Eckhoff of Mobile and Barbara McAleer of Kenington, Md.; two sons, William G. Orth and John M. Orth, both of Florida; a sister, Elizabeth Scheckenback of Inverness, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
The family prefers that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.

Samuel G. Sexton
Samuel G. Sexton, a retired crane operator, died Tuesday night at a local hospital. He was 73.
A native of Mount Airy, N.C., Sexton was a longtime Creola resident.
The U.S. Navy Seabee served in World War II. He also was the U.S. Marine Corps heavyweight boxing champion for a time, family members said.
Sexton was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 34. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvesta Sexton of Creola; four sons, Tommy Boozs; Perry Sexton and Jesse Sexton, both of Chunchula, and John Wayne Sexton of Saraland; two daughters, Mona Lisa Sexton of Albany, Ga., and Ellie Carrell of Satsuma; his mother, Effie Puckett Sexton of Alvaredo, Texas; three brothers, Raymond Sexton and David Sexton, both of Alvaredo, and Charlie Sexton of Mount Airy; a sister, Rosie Creed of Mount Airy; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. today at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Ena F. Curtin
Ena Foster Curtin, who retired as a U.S. Civil Service employee at Pensacola Naval Air Station, died Thursday at a local nursing facility. She was 91.
Mrs. Curtin, a native of Cayman Brac in the British West Indies, moved to Mobile as a child. She was in the first graduating class at Murphy High School in 1926.
At one time, she had resided in the Philippines and served as secretary to the historian of the 13th Air Force Command at Clarke Air Force Base.
She was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and American Federation of Government Employees.
Survivors include her daughter, Eleanor Bayer of Mobile; a stepdaughter, Mamie Koelenbeekof Hertford, N.C.; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from noon until services begin at 2 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens mausoleum at.

Era Mae Jackson
Era Mae Coker Jackson, a prominent licensed cosmetologist, died Wednesday atn a local hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Jackson, a native of Georgiana, Ala., and a longtime Prichard resident, was a retired employee of Mobile County Public Schools.
Survivors include her daughter, Annie Lee Mitchell of Mobile, and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. services begin at Macedonia Baptist Church, 131 July Ave. in Prichard. The cortege will leave the church at 10 a.m. Monday for burial at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
