John W. Emmons
CHUNCHULA - John Wayne Emmons, owner of Wayne's Cycle Shop, died Sunday at the age of 42.
Emmons, a native of Mobile, lived in Chunchula.
He was an avid motorcycle racer.
Survivors include his mother, Maedell Emmons of Wilmer; two brothers, Calvin Emmons and Roy Emmons, both of Semmes; and two stepdaughters, Christie Bland and Belinda Harris.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Serenity Funeral Home, with burial in Valhalla Cemetery.

Cecil O. Fails
Cecil Oneal Fails, who had worked as a general laborer, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 65.
Fails, a native of Monroe County, resided in Mobile.
Survivors include three brothers, Billy M. Fails and Hillary Earl Fails, both of Monroeville, and Oscar David Fails of Frisco City, Ala.; and one sister, Agnes Lynam of Atmore, Ala.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday in New Home Cemetery.

Ruth S. Link
Ruth S. Bullock Link, a homemaker and active member of Foster Grove Holiness Church, died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was 83.
Mrs. Link, a native of Green County, Miss., resided in Mobile.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Bullock, Joseph Bullock, Earl Bullock and Samuel Lee Bullock, all of Mobile; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Serenity Funeral Home, followed at noon by graveside services in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Charles E. Peters
Charles Edward "Eckard" Peters, who had worked as a truck driver for a pulpwood company, died Friday at the age of 69.
Peters, a native of Castleberry, Ala., was a resident of Mobile.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Peters of Mobile; 15 children, Charles E. Peters Jr., Bernice Peters of Louisiana, Ronnie Hunt, Mary Bloxon, Thomas Chrenshaw, Annie Trotter, Eddie Peters, Raymond Peters, Sharon Peters, Charlestta Peters, Ray Peters, Sarah Peters, Charles Peters, Kevin Peters and Tasha Peters, all of Mobile; three brothers, William J. Peters of Panama City, Fla., Clarence Peters of Atlanta and Johnny Peters of Castleberry; two sisters, Annie Peters and Roney Peters, both of Castleberry, Ala.; 35 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Viewing will be after noon Friday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, with services at 7 p.m. A visitation is scheduled in Castleberry at Hampton Ridge Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery.

James C. Wilson
James Carl Wilson, who retired from Chevron Inc. after 32 years, died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 72.
The Aberdeen, Miss., native lived in Mobile for the past 47 years.
A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Wilson was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and a former board member of Beckwith Lodge.
Wilson was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Edna Skeede Wilson; two sons, Marlin Perry Wilson of Amelia Island, Fla., and Bruce Randal Wilson of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Roy Vaughn Summerford of Mobile; and five grandchildren.
Services took place Tuesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, with burial in Pine Crest Cemetery. Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street handled arrangements.

Alice Jordan
KIMBROUGH - Alice Lalene McGilberry Jordan, a former bookkeeper with United Security Bank, died Monday at her home. She was 70.
Mrs. Jordan, a native of Sardis, Ala., lived in Kimbrough. She was a member of the Magnolia Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Thomasville, Ala.
Survivors include her husband, James Henry Jordan of Kimbrough; one son, Robert O. McGilberry of Arlington, Ala.; four daughters, Alice Autery and Relivia Myrick, both of Thomasville, Tina Counselman of Arlington and Quida McGilberry of Birmingham; two sisters, Annice Clark of Vineland, Ala., and Phylis Hicks of Pine Hill, Ala.; six brothers, Charles Everett Stokes, Will Stokes, Winston Stokes, Elvin Stokes and Billy Stokes, all of Thomaston, and Lyman Stokes of Linden, Ala.; and nine grandchildren.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery in Pine Hill.

John L. Lott Sr.
PHENIX CITY, Ala. - John Louis Lott Sr. died Thursday at his home. He was 83.
A native of Greene County, Miss., Lott retired from Uniroyal Goodrich.
From 1934 to 1939, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps.
The retired Army veteran had trained soldiers during World War II and received the Bronze Star for his service during the Korean War.
His memberships include the Fort Benning Masonic Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga., where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Long Lott of Phenix City; five daughters, Gloria Cribbs and Kathy Lott, both of Phenix City, Mary Overman of Valdosta, Ga., Anne Taylor of Smiths, Ala., and Susan Riddle of Opelika, Ala.; one son, John Louis Lott Jr. of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Mae Shepard and Loyal Blankenship, both of Citronelle; one brother, Edsel Lott of Greene County, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services took place Saturday at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
