Samuel D. Allison Jr.
Samuel D. Allison Jr. of Eight Mile died Tuesday at a local health care facility. He was 66.
Allison was a native of Cleveland, Tenn., and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Allison of Eight Mile; five stepdaughters, Betty Peabody, Barbara Large, Linda Reed, Debra Freeman and Donna Taylor; and two stepsons, Carl McGuire and Kenneth Jackson.
Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.

Anne G. King
Anne G. King, a lifelong resident of Mobile, died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was 58.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin King of Mobile; a daughter, Wendy Walker of Mobile; a son, Jeff Lloyd of Mobile; her parents, Floyd and Amelia Gaines of Mobile; three sisters, Madeline Gaines, Carol Gaines and Sandra Duggan, all of Mobile; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Donations may be made in Mrs. King's name to the church.
Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home in Mobile.

Bruce J. Martin
Bruce Joseph Martin of Satsuma died Tuesday at a local hospital. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Martin was 52.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Elaine Martin of Satsuma; a daughter, Melissa Faith Martin of Satsuma; a son, Eric Clifton Martin of Satsuma; his parents, Robert J. and Marie T. Martin of Raeford, N.C.; and three sisters, Maria M. Marston of Atlanta, Robin Ann Martin of McIntosh, Fla., and Christina Joy Peterson of Raeford.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Chickasaw. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Bud H. McCarthy
Bud H. McCarthy, an Eight Mile resident and Grand River, Iowa, native, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 85.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Kelly McCarthy of Eight Mile; two daughters, Deborah Coburn of Semmes and Patti Poplin of Wonder Lake, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home in Semmes.

Myron G. Paxton
Myron Gallagher Paxton, a Birmingham native and Mobile resident, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. She was 97.
She is survived by one daughter, Myron P. Baker of Mobile; two sons, Dr. George B. Paxton of Miami and Thomas R. Paxton of Harreman, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham. Services will follow at 12:30 at the chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Harry E. Smith
CHUNCHULA - Harry Elmer Smith, 50, of Chunchula, died Sunday at a local hospital.
A former volunteer fireman, Smith was a native of Piedmont, S.C.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Smith of Chunchula; two daughters, Paulette Lozano and Melonie Thompson, both of Chunchula; two sons, Joseph Lozano of Eight Mile and Michael Smith of Chunchula; his mother, Grace Heaton Smith of Chunchula; four sisters, Mamie Parmer of Saraland, Helen Rabby of Coden, and Doris Lemon and Janie Rester, both of Mobile; one brother, Hubert Smith of Abilene, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home in Semmes. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Emma B. Finch
Emma Blackwell Finch, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Monday at the age of 73.
The native of Jeanette, Pa., formerly lived in Pittsburgh, where she had worked with the Jewish Home for the Aged.
Mrs. Finch was a resident of Mobile, where she was a member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. At church, she served as coordinator of the Dollie W. Finch Circle.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Veronica Chapter No. 125.
Among her survivors are two grandchildren, Justin Finch and Durant Finch, both of Pittsburgh.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing will also be after 9 a.m. Saturday at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, 1850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., where visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
