Daisy Parham Sport
Daisy Parham Sport, a homemaker and member of Bellingrath Road Church of Christ, died Monday at a hospital in Baldwin County. She was 75.
Mrs. Sport was an Alabama native and resident of Mobile.
Survivors include her son, Richard Murray of New Orleans; two stepchildren, Mary Hussey and John Sport, both of Brantley, Ala.; two sisters, Sue Greene of New Orleans and Ruby Gaines of New Albany, Miss.; three brothers, Sidney Parham of Semmes, Sim Parham and Marion Parham, both of Mobile; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Bellingrath Rod Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Newburn Dobbs Sr.
BESSEMER, Ala. - Newburn Dobbs Sr., a former resident of Mobile, died Tuesday in a Birmingham hospital. He was 65.
Dobbs, a native of Fayette, Ala., lived in Bessemer for the past eight years. He had also formerly lived in Panama City, Fla.
While in the military, Dobbs had served in Korea.
Survivors include three children, Newburn Dobbs Jr. of Bessemer, Stacie L. Dobbs and Clark Dobbs, both of Panama City; his mother, Lucille Dobbs of Mobile; one brother, Billy Dobbs of Mobile; one sister, Betty Sutton of Carrolton, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. today in the National Cemetery in Mobile with Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in charge of arrangements.

M.D. Adams Jr.
M.D. Adams Jr., who had been associated with the Gideons for nearly 26 years, died Thursday at his home after a battle with cancer. He was 72.
The Alabama native was a resident of Theodore and a member of Theodore United Methodist Church.
Adams had worked in the meat-packing industry most of his life. He worked at a number of meat-packing companies before going to work for Bryan Brothers. He later was employed by Reelfoot Meat Packing Co. in Anniston, Ala., for 30 years.
After retiring from Reelfoot, the U.S. Navy veteran worked at Anniston Lincoln-Mercury.
Survivors include his wife, Martha M. Adams of Theodore; one daughter, Cheryl A. Kirby of Mobile; one sister, Juanita Henson of Birmingham; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home today from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Belinda T. Howell
Belinda Tidmore Howell, who had managed rental properties, died Thursday at a local health care facility. She was 44.
Mrs. Howell, a native of Electra, Texas, was a resident of Mobile and was active with the Mobile Theater Guild.
She was a graduate of Theodore High School, where she had served as editor of the school paper and had been active in the drama and arts clubs.
Survivors include her son, Michael Matthews; her mother, Eloise M. Tidmore; three brothers, Charles Tidmore, Randy Tidmore and Mark Tidmore.
Services are set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Serenity Funeral Home with visitation from 2 p.m. until service time.

Lorine K. Johnson
Lorine K. Johnson, a retiree of the school system in Mobile County, died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 64.
Mrs. Johnson lived in Mobile and was a native of Marengo County. She was a member of the Church of God Pentecostal, where she served as an usher.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Johnson; her mother, Mittie King of Pine Hill, Ala.; eight children, Patricia Johnson, Irish Huston, Gregory Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Maurice Johnson, and Arish Cookie Johnson, all of Mobile, Maurquis Johnson of Huntsville and Tywarren D. Johnson, U.S. Marine Corps, North Carolina; four brothers, Concil King, German King, Tommie King and Belton King Jr.; three sisters, Eloise Jenkins, Rosie Colman and Maggie Todd; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Church of God Pentecostal, 818 Telegraph Road in Prichard today from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery with Lovett's Funeral Chapel directing.

Mildred H. Novay
Mildred H. Novay, a member of Victory Assembly of God Church in Eight Mile, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 73.
Survivors include three sons, Paul L. Novay, Thomas R. Novay and Terry E. Novay; one daughter, Suzzanne Smith; one brother, Robert Hilburn; one sister, Lilly Lowell; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Serenity Funeral Home, where services are set for noon Monday. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Marie S. Shreves
Marie S. Shreves, a member of Hollinger's Island Baptist Church, died Thursday at the age of 83.
Mrs. Shreves had been active in her church before moving to Cogburn Nursing Home.
Survivors include one son, Larry Lee Shreves Sr.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway. Services and entombment are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum in Pine Crest Cemetery.
