Dan H. Knowles Sr.
Dan H. Knowles Sr., a Vinegar Bend native and Mobile resident, died Saturday at a local hospital. The former Abba Temple member was 77.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Yarborough Knowles of Mobile; three daughters, Beverly Jo Knowles Vinsant, Debbie Evans and Kathy Knowles McArdle all of Mobile; a son, Dan H. Knowles of Mobile; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with entombment in Pine Crest Mausoleum.

Ethel Watts McAdams
Ethel Watts McAdams, a Mobile native and resident, died Thursday at a local health care facility. She was 73.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Powell of Semmes and Diane Henry of La Grange, Ga.; one son, Rick McAdams of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Marie Horne of Semmes and Kate Oser of Lafayette, La.; one brother, Monroe Watts of Mobile; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be form 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile. Services will begin at 10 a.m., Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Joyner Cemetery.

Imogene Parenteau
Imogene Parenteau, a Mobile native and former Tacoma, Wash., resident, died Monday, Feb. 22, at a local hospital. She was 54.
Ms. Parenteau was a graduate of Cedar Grove Academy in Prichard and a certified nursing assistant.
She is survived by two sons, Shawn Parenteau and Derek Williams, both of Tacoma; one daughter, Jasmine Angela Davis of Mobile; her father, Albert Knight Sr. of Tacoma; two brothers, Anthony Knight of Pasadena, Calif., and Albert Knight Jr. of Tacoma; one sister, Elaine Bush of Tacoma; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at Reese Funeral Home. Burial will be in Whispering Pines Cemetery.

Ruth Bonner Dicks
MERIDIAN, Miss. - Ruth Bonner Dicks, a former teacher, died Friday at her home in Meridian. She was 94.
Ms. Dicks was a Toxey native and a former Butler resident.
She is survived by two sisters, Estelle Bonner and Hilda Bonner Speed, both of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Butler, with burial in Bonner Cemetery in Toxey. Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler is handling arrangements.

William B. Brown Sr.
William Bradley Brown Sr., a World War II veteran who was honored by the Soviet government and the Russian people for his efforts during the war, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 76.
Brown, who resided in Mobile, was a native of Chicago.
He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Brown Banks of Arlington, Va., and Angela B. Grabowski of Mobile; three sons, William Bradley Brown Jr. of Palmdale, Calif., Randal K. Brown and Kevin Scott Brown of Mobile; his mother, Beatrice Neider; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial is set for 10 a.m. today at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with burial at Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Knollwood Park Hospital.
Radney Funeral Home in Mobile is in charge of arrangements.

Michael W. Doyle
Michael Wayne Doyle, a lifelong resident of Mobile, died Friday at a family residence. He was 22.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Kay Doyle of Mobile; his father, Larry Wayne Doyle of Semmes; a sister, Angela Kay Melson; a brother, Paul Curtis Doyle; and his grandmothers, Agnes McAdams and Gloria Powell both of Semmes.
Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilmer Cemetery.

James E. Hodges
GRAND BAY - James Edward "Gee Gee" Hodges, a native of Mobile and resident of Grand Bay, died Friday at a local hospital.
Hodges, also known affectionately as "Big James" to his family and friends, was 41.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Shirley McAlpine of Grand Bay; five children, James Orr and Darnell Orr, both of Grand Bay, Jaquina Orr, Timothy Orr and Kevin Hodges, all of Mobile; four sisters, Rose Caster of Houston, Barbara Jordan, Pauline Stovall and Carline McCovery, all of Grand Bay; and five brothers, William Hodges, Robert Hodges and Richard Hodges, all of Mobile, Sherman Hodges and Charles Hodges, both of Grand Bay.
Viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. today at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Visitation will befrom 5 to 9 tonight at Eastside Church of Christ on Lovis Tillman Road in Grand Bay, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
