Irene R. Matthews
Irene Randy Matthews, a homemaker and Mobile resident, died Tuesday. She was a native of Mississippi.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Willie Matthews of Mobile; one son, Willie Perryman of Mobile; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at St. Peter Baptist Church, 650 S. Bayou St., on Monday from noon until the 1 p.m. service. Burial will be in Rising Sun Cemetery. Lovett's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Elton A. Byrd
CITRONELLE - Elton Allen Byrd, a native of Citronelle, died Sunday at his Citronelle residence. He was 73.
Byrd, a former warehouseman, attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Chunchula. The World War II-era veteran served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 1, 1944 to Dec. 16, 1946.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda B. Byrd of Citronelle; a son, Clinton A. Byrd of Citronelle; a daughter, Cindy Toomey of Millry; three brothers, Homer Byrd of Tibbie, Curtis Byrd and Lonnie Byrd, both of Citronelle; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fellowship Baptist Church, with burial in Fellowship Cemetery.

Robert Cooper
Robert Cooper, a resident of Mount Vernon, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 80.
Cooper was a member of Joe Southhall Lodge 905 F&AM.;
Survivors include his wife, Helen L. Cooper of Mount Vernon; three sons, Toney Cooper of Calvert, Billy Joe Cooper and Hulen Cooper, both of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Lois Joiner of Gulf Shores, Jean Bowden and Sylvia Winkle, both of Mobile; two brothers, Curtis Cooper of Mobile and Bert Cooper of Ararat; three sisters, Linda Odom of Silas, Louise Tressler of Birmingham and Lois Dubrock of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 9:30 at Lockler Memorial Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at Calvert Cemetery in Calvert.

Edrenda M. Jones
Edrenda M. Jones, who retired from Gayfer's department stores after 38 years, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 88.
Mrs. Jones, a native of Wayne County, Miss., was a longtime resident of Mobile. She was a member of Crawford Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Elizabeth L. "Betty" Crawford of Fairfax, Va., Barbara A. Crane of Dauphin Island and Shirley I. Dixon of Mobile; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Tossie Anderson
Tossie Anderson, a former seamstress for Vanity Fair Mills, died Monday at a local hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Anderson, who resided in Mobile, was a native of Coffeeville, Ala. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Charles D. "Lefty" Anderson of Mobile; two brothers, Tom Deas of Jackson, Ala., and Gilmer Deas of Coffeeville; two sisters, Vercie Montgomery of Coffeeville and Iola Robinson of Thomasville, Ala.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. today at New Prospect Baptist Cemetery, with visitation at New Prospect Baptist Church one hour prior to services.

Eunice Helms
Eunice McRaney Helms, who resided in Mobile most of her life, died Monday. She was 81.
More recently a resident of Fairhope, Ms. Helms was a native of Forrest County.
She is survived by two close friends, Mary K. and J. D. Landis of Mobile.
Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. today at Mobile National Cemetery.

Rosie Mae Seales
Rosie Mae Seales, a Mobile resident who was a native of Philadelphia, Miss., died Thursday.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Seales, and her brother, Larry Seales.
Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard today from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services begin. Burial will be at Whispering Pines Cemetery.
