Adele Habeeb Kahalley

Adele Habeeb Kahalley, a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church, died Thursday in a local hospital. She was 81.

Mrs. Kahalley was a lifelong Mobilian and a member of the Lebanese American Club of Mobile.

Survivors include her husband, Hasep E. Kahalley of Mobile; five children, Lucy Kahalley, Linda Kahalley, Theresa Kahalley Williams, Anthony Kahalley and Charles Kahalley, all of Mobile; one sister, Alma Habeeb of Mobile; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Radney-Belmany Funeral Home on Grelot Road, with the rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Catholic Cemetery.

Donald Lewis Burnett

Donald Lewis Burnett, a former pitcher with the Mobile Bears and several major league baseball teams, died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 73.

Burnett, a native of Riderwood, Ala., lived in Satsuma for 44 years and retired from International Paper Co. in 1987.

During the 1940s, he had pitched for the Mobile Bears, the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs.

He was a member of Saraland Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wade Burnett of Satsuma; four daughters, Stephanie Watson of Dothan, Bernie Sue Bandy of Saraland, Lucretia Rutherford of Mobile and Regina Cleckler of Semmes; three brothers, Raymond Burnett of Idaho, Robert Burnett of Saraland and John Burnett of Irvington; one sister, Ruth Johnson of Foley; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, with services at noon Saturday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Charles Jones Sr.

Charles "Mr. R.C." Jones Sr., who retired from Teamsters Local No. 991 after 30 years, died Tuesday in Mobile. He was 80.

Jones, a native of Wilcox County, was a resident of Mobile. He had worked as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ethel Elizabeth Jones of Mobile; 11 children, Mary Hinds, Angeline Banks, Robert Jones, Sonya Jones, Timothy Jones and Vivian Wiggins, all of Mobile, Sylvia Davidson, Patricia Owens, Charles Jones Jr., Lois Jones and Erma Jean Jones, all of Detroit; 29 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Aimwell Baptist Church, with services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Crest Funeral Home with Christian Benevolent Funeral Home in charge.

Mary Ellis Gardner

WAYNESBORO, Miss. - Mary Ellis Gardner, a resident of Waynesboro and sister of two Baldwin County residents, died Wednesday in a Waynesboro hospital. She was 63.

Mrs. Gardner, a Mississippi native, began her 42-year career as a registered nurse in 1946. She was a graduate of Gilfoi School of Nursing.

She was a member of Waynesboro First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brother, James E. Gardner of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and three sisters, Emma Lou Davis of Elba, Erma Ruth Brown of Foley and Eva Martin of Quitman, Miss.

Services are set for 11 a.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with burial in Waynesboro Cemetery.

Jarrell Daniel McDaniel

BEDFORD, Texas - Jarrell Daniel McDaniel, a former resident of Silas, Ala., died Tuesday in a health care facility in Bedford. He was 85.

McDaniel was a former educator who retired in 1982 after 36 years of service.

The Koenton, Ala., native was a resident of Bedford.

He graduated from Auburn University in 1938. He received his master's degree from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Bertie L. McDaniel of Bedford; one daughter, Jackie B. Riemenschneider of Bedford; one son, James David McDaniel of Rockport, Texas; one brother, Harold McDaniel of Enterprise, Ala.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bumpers Funeral Home's Pine Mill Chapel. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Springbank Baptist Church with burial in Edgar Cemetery in Silas.

Travis V. Adams

Travis V. "T.V." Adams, who owned and operated Adams Barber Shop in Tillman's Corner for 38 years, died Friday at a local hospital.

Adams, a native of Fulton, Miss., lived in Mobile for the past 38 years. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Tillman's Corner.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Hopkins Adams of Mobile; one son, David V. Adams of Mobile; two daughters, Cathy Burson and Teresa N. Adams of Mobile; two sisters Syble Garner of Jasper, Ala., and Sylvia Kellum of Fulton, Miss.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Serenity Funeral Home, with services at noon Monday. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Minnie O. Luckey

Minnie O. Luckey, a homemaker and resident of Whistler, died Tuesday at the age of 87.

Mrs. Luckey was a native of Emelle, Ala.

Survivors include her daughter, Allenis Luckey of Whistler.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. today with services at 11 a.m. at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 707 Alvarez Ave. Burial will be in Whistler Cemetery, with Reese Funeral Home of Prichard in charge.
