Jessie Mae Pharr
Jessie Mae Pharr, an Eight Mile homemaker and native of Castleberry, died Sunday at her home. She was 78.
Survivors include her husband, O.W. Pharr of Eight Mile; a daughter, Ruby Dell Hallmark of Eight Mile; three sons, Bobby E. Pharr of Saraland, Gerald Wayne Pharr and Oscar Gary Pharr, both of Eight Mile; two sisters, Allie Hobbs and Joe Littles, both of Brewton; a brother, Ralph Burch of Brewton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Inez Mahoney
NEWNAN, Ga. - Inez Mahoney, a native of Mobile and resident of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday. She was 81.
She is survived by two children, Clarence B. Mahoney Jr. of Camden, S.C., and Carolyn M. Groover of Tyrone, Ga.; a sister, Alice Bryant of Mobile; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held Saturday at Overlook Presbyterian Church in Mobile.

Mable A. Morgan
Mable Alexander Morgan, a Mobile native and Goldsboro, N.C., resident died Wednesday.
The former Mobile County public school teacher was 97.
She is survived by her close friend, Niel Stitt, and a grandson.
Services were held in Goldsboro on Monday. Arrangements were by Christian Benevolent Funeral Home.

Addie Rockhold
WINNSBORO, La. - Addie Rockhold, a former Mobile resident, died Sunday at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Rockhold, 90, a resident of Winnsboro, was a homemaker and member of Apostolic Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include her children, John Lawrence Rockhold Jr. of Gretna, La., Chester Daniel Rockhold of Theodore, James Paul Rockhold and Bobby Joel Rockhold, both of Mobile, David Earl Rockhold and Brenda A. Rockhold, both of Winnsboro, and Shirley R. Steuart of Woodstock, Ga.; two sisters, Mable Caurson of Bastrop, La., and Jessie Bray of Muskogee, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Apostolic Tabernacle Church, with Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro in charge. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Cleo Short
Cleo Short, 62, a resident of Jamaica in the borough of Queens, N.Y., died Thursday after a brief illness.
Born in Delhi, La., she worked in New York for more than 35 years and completed 28 years of service with the New York Social Security Administration.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffry C. Short of Jamaica and Frank Chambliss Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Juanita Chambliss of Seattle; her mother, Louise B. Calhoun of Mobile; two brothers, Walter J. Calhoun Jr. and Victor L. Calhoun, both of Mobile; and a number of grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, with services at noon. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Theodore.

Elizabeth Staley
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Elizabeth Frances Stauter Staley, a Mobile native and Jacksonville resident, died Monday at home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Staley had been a shipyard worker during World War II and a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Paul C. Staley Sr. of Jacksonville; two daughters, Ann Staley and Rosemary Moredock of Jacksonville; two sons, Paul C. Staley Jr. of Mountain View, Calif., and William Staley of Winter Springs, Fla.; two brothers, Anthony Stauter and Joseph Stauter, both of Mobile; and three grandchildren.
A vigil service is set from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at Fraser Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Jacksonville.

Ora Dell Mabien
Ora Dell Mabien, a homemaker and a former member of the Church of God in Christ on Davis Avenue, died Monday in Marion, Ala. She was 75.
Mrs. Mabien was a native of Mount Vernon, Ala., and a resident of Mobile for many years.
Survivors include four children, Jessie Mabien of Prichard, Ora Lee Mabien of Mobile, James Mabien and Frank Mabien, both of Selma; three sisters, Annie M. Baskin of Prichard, Hattie B. Portis and Mary Todd, both of Chicago; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard on Saturday from noon until the 1 p.m. service. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
