Havard Lundy
ESCONDIDO, Calif. - Havard Frederick Lundy, a Mobile native and retired captain of the U.S. Marine Corps, died March 19 at a health care facility in Escondido.
A 1935 graduate of Murphy High School and a former member of Zion Baptist Church of Mobile, Lundy was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked Dec. 7, 1941, and served in the Pacific throughout the war, attaining the rank of master gunnery sergeant.
During the Korean War, he received a battlefield commission. He retired from the Marines after 24 years. During his service, he also received a number of battle stars and medals.
After leaving the military, he worked as a surveyor with San Bernardino County in California. His memberships included the Chosen Few, the Pearl Harbor Survivors and many civic groups.
Survivors include his stepmother, Bessie Y. Lundy of Mobile; two sons, Michael F. Lundy and Jason P. Lundy, both of Oceanside, Calif.; four brothers, Gordon Lundy, Gilbert M. Lundy, Hugh Lundy of Mobile and Jason V. Lundy of Monroeville; three sisters, Eloise Drago and Ferne Sciple of Mobile, and Iris Anderson of Pascagoula; and two grandsons.
Burial with full military honors will take place in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

Loreda J. Mixon
Loreda J. Mixon, a member of Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church, died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was 74.
Mrs. Mixon was a lifelong Mobile resident.
Survivors include two children, Daniel L. Mixon Jr. and Norris Mixon, both of Mobile.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, and also after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church, 500 Earl St., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Whispering Pines Cemetery.

David Moore Jr.
David "Chuckie" Moore Jr., a native and resident of Mobile, died Monday at a local hospital. He was 38.
Moore had attended Vigor High School.
Survivors include his mother, Earnestine Moore; his father, David Moore Sr.; five sisters; and one brother, Kenderick of Mobile.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Williams Street Holiness Church with burial in Prichard Memorial Gardens. Memorial Funeral Home of Prichard is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Lundy
Bessie Elizabeth Yeager Lundy, an Inda, Miss. native and Mobile resident, died Wednesday at local hospital. The former Sunday school teacher for Zion Baptist Church was 90.
She is survived by three sons, Jason Virgil Lundy of Monroeville, Rev. Gilbert Moulton Lundy and Hugh C. Lundy both of Mobile; one daughter, Iris E. Anderson of Pascagoula, one stepson, E. Gordon Lundy of Mobile; two stepdaughters, Eloise Drago and Ruth Ferne Sciple both of Mobile; two sisters, Lucille Patrick of Covington, La., Virgie Alice Barlkly of Arkansas; four brothers, Howard E. Yeager of Mobile, C. Dudley Yeager of Atlanta, Hubert A. Yeager of Gulfport, Shirley Yeager of Gautier, Miss.; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Zion Baptist Church, with services to follow. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home in Mobile.

Colonel Brent Burch
Colonel Brent Burch, former owner of Burch's Dry Cleaning and Laundry, died Thursday at his home. He was 85.
A native of Brewton, Ala., Burch had been a resident of Mobile since 1941.
His memberships included Cottage Hill Baptist Church and the Lions Club. He was Mason and member of Howard Lodge No. 69 F&AM.;
Survivors include his wife, Frances IvaRee O'Farrell Burch of Mobile; six children, Gordon F. Burch of Seattle, Faye Burch Rogers of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, Brenda Burch Burr of Denton, Texas, Gerald W. Burch of Singapore, Calvin L. Burch of Merritt Island, Fla., and Lenora Burch Glenn of Houston; two brothers, Leon Burch of Mobile and Norman Burch of Grand Bay; five sisters, Bessie Mae Weaver, Janell Winchester and Vivian Milligan, all of Brewton, Ala., Clara Foss of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Doris Collins of Largo, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, where services are set for 10 a.m. Monday. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Weaver Cemetery in Brewton.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Home of Grace for Women, 394 Adcock, Eight Mile, AL 36613.

Lulline W. Tucker
Lulline W. Tucker, who had worked as a bookkeeper, died Thursday in Mobile. She was 92.
Mrs. Tucker was a native of Walnut Hill, Fla., and a resident of Mobile.
Survivors include one brother, Dewight Ward of Mobile.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. today in Union Cemetery in Frisco City. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Jenell Hall
Helen Jenell Hall, a member of Baggetts Chapel Church, died Wednesday in a nursing facility in Citronelle. She was 67.
Mrs. Hall, a native of Lenox, Ala., had been a resident of Repton for most of her life.
Survivors include her mother, Velma Watson of Repton; three sons, Greg Hall of Repton, Gary Hall of Monroeville and Terry Hall of Atmore; two daughters, Brenda White of Excel, Ala., and Redetha Saucer of Goodway, Ala.; one sister, Frances Watson of Mobile; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville with burial in Baggetts Chapel Cemetery.
