Brandy N. Girod
Brandy Nicole Girod, who was born in Peru, Ind., and resided at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., died Thursday. She was 5.
She is survived by her parents, Eleanor and Sammie Girod of Mobile, who are stationed at Tinker; a brother, Nickolas Girod of Tinker; four grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronario of the Philippine Islands, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Girod of Van Cleave, Miss.; and four great-grandparents.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Creekwood Church of Christ in Mobile, with services to follow. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Gilmer's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Karen N. Luckett
Karen Newman Luckett, a former X-ray technician with the University of South Alabama, died of cancer Thursday at a Chicago hospital. She was 38.
She is survived by two daughters, Toya Luckett and Mischell Luckett, both of Chicago; her parents, Charles and Berniece Waller Newman of Chicago; and two grandmothers, Ethel Lewis of Mobile and Delores Stallworth of Prichard.
Memorial services are set for Wednesday in Chicago.
Reese Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Maddox
James "Beck" Maddox, a member of Knollwood Park Assembly of God Church, died Friday at a local hospital.
Maddox, 89, was a lifelong resident of Mobile.
He is survived by a son, Jack Maddox of Mobile; a daughter, Rachel Bell of Mobile; a sister, Eunice Thomley of Chickasaw; nine grandchildren; 23 grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

James C. Smith Sr.
James Cecil Smith Sr., a retired Brookley Air Force Base expediter, died Saturday.
Smith, 77, was a World War II veteran. A native of Thorsby, he resided in Mobile.
He is survived by his wife, Aletha L. Smith of Mobile; three sons, Alan Ray Smith and Brett Lee Smith, both of Mobile, and James Cecil Smith Jr. of Dothan; four daughters, Sandy Andrews, Freida Hartley and Brandi Smith, all of Mobile, and Fran Luther of Saraland; a brother, Tommy Smith of Winfield; a sister, Ethleen Gamble of McCalla, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile this evening from 5 to 8 and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.

Sabrina Marie Owens
Sabrina Marie Odom Owens, formerly a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, died Saturday at her home in Pensacola. She was 23.
Mrs. Owens was a native of Detroit.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Owens Jr.; a son, James C. Owens III of Pensacola; her mother, Debra Harris Odom of Pensacola; her stepmother, Jackie Gaskin Donaldson of Lee, Fla.; two brothers, Thomes Vickers of Madison, Fla., and Shawn D. Odom of Pensacola; a grandmother, Meada Roark Odom of Bristol, Tenn.; and two step-grandmothers, Carolyn Harris of Lake Park, Ga., and Dena Harris of Perry, Fla.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastern Gate Funeral Home in Pensacola. Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oakridge Cemetery in Madison.

Lillie Bell Jones
Lillie Bell "Ma Bell" Jones, who had worked as a self-employed beautician, died Tuesday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Jones, 73, a native of Snow Hill, Ala., resided in Mobile.
A member of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, she served as a member of the Gospel Chorus.
Her survivors include six children, Carolyn Carey, Carl Jones, Ronald Jones, Donald Jones, Vicia Blackman and Vanessa Jones, all of Mobile; one sister, Mattie Crews of Mobile; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, 650 S. Bayou Street, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the noon services. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.

Annie J. Kemp
Annie J. Kemp, a member of Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church No. 2 for more than 65 years, died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was 91.
The Clarke County native was a resident of Mobile.
At church, she had served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the senior choir.
Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Jackson of Mobile; one sister, Susia Frazier of Mobile; and one granddaughter.
Viewing will be after 9 a.m. Friday at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church No. 2, 251 N. Lafayette St., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Christian Benevolent Funeral Home in charge.
