William T. Pope
LOUISA, Ky. - William T. "Tick" Pope, 66, died Thursday after an extended illness.
A resident of Louisa, Pope had worked for 23 years as a welder with C&O; Railroad. He was a member of New Friendship United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Delores Hammond Pope of Louisa; five daughters, Janice Sue Baldridge of Inez, Ky., Delores Gaule Fields of Mobile, Jeanette Hall of Prestonburg, Ky., Beverly Medlin of Corbin, Ky., and Elizabeth Pope of Wittensville, Ky.; two sons, William Michael Pope of Louisa and Daniel Pope of Inez; a sister, Bessie Kirk of Louisa; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 3 to 9 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St. in Louisa. Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at New Friendship United Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Pope-Hammond Cemetery in Louisa.

Mary Ruth Reynolds
LUCEDALE, Miss. - Mary Ruth Reynolds, a former employee at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, died Thursday at a hospital in George County, Miss. She was 79.
A native of Arkadelphia, Ala., Mrs. Reynolds had resided in Lucedale for the past 25 years.
While at Brookley, she worked as an aircraft control specialist. She earned a degree in education from Florence State Teachers College.
Survivors include her husband, Harold B. Reynolds of Lucedale; a son, Jerry B. Reynolds of Gulfport; two brothers, Johnny Boyd and Clarence Boyd, both of Gardendale, Ala.; a sister, Maple Dennis of Montgomery; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be at Pine Crest Cemetery.

Lula Mae Crabtree
Lula Mae Crabtree, a member of Central Assembly of God Church, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 90.
Mrs. Crabtree was a lifelong Mobilian.
Survivors include her children, Harold Crabtree of Saraland, Carol Gross of Mobile and Jeanette Trent of Port Washington, N.Y.; one brother, James Broadus of Mobile; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 1 p.m. today at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, with burial in New Hope Gardens Cemetery.

Mary Ann Byrd
MOUNT VERNON - Mary Ann Byrd, a retired school bus driver for Mobile County public schools in Citronelle, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 72.
Mrs. Byrd attended Lighthouse of Praise Holiness Church in Citronelle.
She is survived by her husband, Elsworth Byrd Sr. of Mount Vernon; five sons, George David Davis, Elsworth Byrd Jr. and Ken Martin Byrd, all of Mount Vernon, Ricky Lemar Byrd of Citronelle and Adam Heath Byrd of Greenwood, Miss.; two daughters, Amanda Charlene Snow of Mount Vernon and Barbie Levette Allen of Citronelle; one sister, Annette Orso of Mount Vernon; and 28 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lighthouse of Praise Holiness Church, with burial in Byrd Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

James C. Chapman
James Crittenden Chapman, a Miami native and a Mobile resident, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 96.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Chapman of Mobile; two sons, Jamie Chapman of Boston and John Chapman of Connecticut; one daughter, Lola Jewel of Atlanta; four stepdaughters, Patricia Lyons of Kansas, Suzanne Montgomery, Elizabeth Creamer and Jane Flannelly, all of Mobile; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the chapel of the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakhill Cemetery in Jasper, Ala. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Ashland Place United Methodist Church Sign Fund.

Emma Dickinson
Emma Shepard Dickinson, a lifelong Mobile resident, died Thursday. The former educator was a member of State Street A.M.E. Zion Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Emma Gaynell Shorter, June C. Carter and Germaine A. Jackson; one son, Henry C. Dickinson Jr.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at State Street A.M.E. Zion Church with visitation from 11 a.m. to noon. Services will follow visitation. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson-Allen Mortuary.

Tommy R. Thomas
Tommy R. Thomas, a Kansas City, Mo., native and a Mobile resident, died Thursday in Biloxi, Miss. The U.S. Army and Vietnam War veteran was 49.
He is survived by his mother, Billy Jo Thomas of Fairhope; one daughter, Terri Trahan of Mobile; one son, Daniel Dickens of Mobile; one sister, Dena Thomas of Mobile; three brothers, Johnny Thomas and Brian O'Brien, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Harvey Bruce Thomas of Mobile; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport, Miss. Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
