John E. Speedling
John E. Speedling, who had worked at International Paper for 37 years, died Wednesday. He was 82.
Speedling, who resided in Chickasaw, was a native of Whistler. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Elizabeth Wilkins Speedling of Chickasaw; his son, John E. Speedling Jr. of Jackson, Miss.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for noon today at Mobile Memorial Gardens, with visitation at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home one hour before the service.

Grady Lee Tanner
EVERGREEN - Grady Lee Tanner, a resident of Evergreen, died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 81.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Tanner of Evergreen; a son, Bob Tanner of Tuscaloosa; five stepsons, Tony Raines, Robbie Bolton and Tommy Bolton, all of Evergreen, Rus Raines of Daphne and Bill Bolton of Montgomery; a daughter, Leanne Pearson of Birmingham; a brother, Harvy Tanner of Dallas; four grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen. Services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen United Methodist Church, with burial at Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen.

William K. Brown
WALNUT HILL, Ala. - William Kenneth Brown of Walnut Hill, a retired farmer, died Tuesday at a local hospital.
Brown, a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church, was also retired from the Soil Conservation Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Brown of Walnut Hill; two sons, William C. Brown of Pensacola and Jack W. Brown of Walnut Hill; a daughter, Nina Bartley of Walnut Hill; two sisters, Hilda Corley of Walnut Hill and Annie Cruitt of Cullman; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 9:15 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, with burial at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.

Trudie W. Spears
Trudie W. Spears, an Opp native and Mobile resident, died Thursday at a local health care facility. She was 89.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Spears; three daughters, Carolyn S. Daniel, Marilyn Spears and Donna J. Payne, all of Mobile; one sister, Bennie Lee Taylor of Bay Minette; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lott Road Methodist Church Building Fund.

EIGHT MILE - Inna Marie Winfield, a native of Ashby, Ala., and a longtime resident of Eight Mile, died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 75.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley P. Greer of Chickasaw, Patricia Smith of Theodore and Linda Cook of Semmes; one sister, Sarah Frances Polk of Montevallo; three brothers, Wesley R. Caton and Frederick A. Caton, both of Mary Esther, Fla., and George D. Caton of Maylene, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

James Joseph Ryan
GREENVILLE, Ala. - James Joseph "Jim" Ryan, a resident of Greenville, died Wednesday at his residence. He was 71.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Poole Ryan; two sons, James Joseph Ryan Jr. and Thomas Edward Ryan; one daughter, Edith Ryan Williams, all of Greenville; one brother, William H. Ryan of Selma and six grandchildren.
Visitation is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today at the Woodland Heights Methodist Church in Greenville. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville.

Robert Mixon
Robert Mixon, a native of Alberta and resident of Mobile, died Sunday.
He is survived by two sons, three daughters, one sister, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
