David Clifford Taylor Jr.
WAYNESBORO, Miss. - David Clifford Taylor Jr., who was self-employed, died Saturday in a Waynesboro hospital. He was 46.
Taylor was a native of Florida and a resident of Waynesboro. He served as an elder at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Taylor of Waynesboro; his mother, Fannie Taylor of Waynesboro; one son, Zachary Taylor of Waynesboro; and one sister, Tammie T. Smith of Heidelberg, Miss.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, with burial in Serenity Gardens.

Ella B. Dowe
Ella Bridges Dowe, a member of Holy Church of God where she served as church mother, died Friday at a local health care facility. She was 88.
Mrs. Dowe, a native of Mount Vernon, resided in Mobile.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Chestang of Mobile; two brothers, Peter Bridges Jr. and Melvin Bridges, both of Mobile; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home from noon to 5 p.m. Viewing also will be after 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Church of God, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the noon services. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Fred A. Hayley
Fred A. Hayley, a retired bank vice president, died Monday at his home.
The Faunsdale, Ala., native was a resident of Mobile for 80 years.
He spent 48 years with Merchant's National Bank, now Regions Bank, and retired in 1975 as senior vice president.
He was a member of the original Alabama Securities Dealers Association and was active in many civic organizations. He was a longtime member of Government Street Presbyterian Church.
Hayley served in World War II after graduating from Officers Candidate School-Air Force Command. He was assigned to the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations.
Survivors include two cousins, Hayward Spinks and Eloise Spinks Kalb.
Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Crest Cemetery, with Pine Crest Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Melvin Monroe Byron
FORT MILL, S.C. - The Rev. Melvin Monroe Byron, a retired minister with the Alabama District Assemblies of God, died Monday in a hospital in Rock Hill, S.C.
Byron, 78, resided in Fort Mill. He was a native of DeSoto, Mo.
He spent 44 years as a pastor and served the Presbytery of the Mobile Section for many years. He was a youth Sunday school representative with the District of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Deen Burns Byron; two daughters, Sandra Byron Bernard of Fort Mill and S. Darlene Allen of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Clayton Byron and Randall Byron, both of DeSoto; a sister, Rosalie Bell of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 4 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with burial at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

Owen C. Bonner
Owen Cecil Bonner, a native of Mount Sterling, Ala., and longtime resident of Mobile, died Monday at a local hospital. He was 78.
Bonner was a member of Pentalpha Masonic Lodge No. 804 F&AM.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Bonner Kergis of Houston and Cecile Bonner Coble of Mobile; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Mobile Memorial Gardens, with Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Penelope House Fund of Mobile.

Annie Ree Smith
Annie Ree Smith, a former volunteer with the American Heart Association, died Tuesday at the age of 88.
Mrs. Smith, known affectionately as "Nannie-Ree," was a native of Livingston, Ala. The Mobile resident had formerly lived in Plateau.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a former member of Our Lady of Mercy of Plateau.
Survivors include her sister, Idella Jones of Mobile; one daughter, Annice P. Gomez of Mobile; and four grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 107 Lafayette Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Cecil M. Burge
WIGGINS, Miss. - Cecil Maurice Burge, a resident of Wiggins and father of a Fairhope resident, died Wednesday in Hattiesburg after a battle with cancer. He was 70.
Burge had worked as a truck driver for the city of Wiggins and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Smith Burge of Wiggins; three daughters, Patricia Miles of Fairhope, Gail Waldrop of Jackson, Miss., and Reisa Plyler of Miami; two brothers, Grady B. Burge Sr. of Poplarville, Miss., and Douglas H. Burge of Bellevue, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Moore Funeral Home on West College Avenue in Wiggins, where services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Wiggins.
