Doris Pitts Anderson
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Doris Pitts Anderson, a native of Runnelstown, Miss., and resident of Starkville, died Wednesday in an area hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Anderson formerly lived in Ovett, Miss., for many years.
Survivors include her son, C. Wayne Herrington of Starkville and formerly of Mobile; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Radney-Belmany Funeral Home on Grelot Road in Mobile. Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. today in Brown Cemetery in Ellisville, Miss.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity or church.

Bessie J. Long
Bessie Johnson Long, a homemaker and member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 98.
Mrs. Long had been a member of the Burse Club.
Survivors include one son, L.T. Long Jr. of Mobile; three daughters, Joyce Gorosh, Bonnie Torrans and Betty Lowery, all of Mobile; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.

Frances L. Laird
Frances L. Laird, a member of Orchard Baptist Church, died Friday at her home.
Mrs. Laird, 78, was a native of Butler County and resident of Mobile.
A homemaker, Mrs. Laird had participated in many church activities.
Survivors include three nephews, Bill Creel of Broken Arrow, Okla., Joe Laird of Semmes, and Bob Creel of Tulsa, Okla.; and two nieces, Peggy Harlow of Mobile, and Evelyn Fretwell of Citronelle.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

W.C. Wilkins
SEMMES - W.C. Wilkins, a native of Quitman, Miss., who lived in Semmes, died Thursday at a local hospital.
Survivors include four children, Cyndi Zehner of Semmes, Donnie Wilkins of Citronelle, Billy Wilkins of California and Jo Jo Wilkins of Mobile; two sisters, Louise Smith of Quitman and Velma Wheeler of Mobile; one brother, Robert Wilkins of Semmes; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, where services are set for 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.

Erma B. Sanderson
SARALAND - Erma Berniece Sanderson, a native of Clarke County who resided in Saraland, died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 83.
She is survived by two daughters, Hilda Collins of Satsuma and Dean Strange of Saraland; three sons, Alfred Sanderson and Roy Sanderson, both of Saraland, and Harold Sanderson of Eight Mile; two sisters, Ona Grey Duiett and Elese Denmark, both of Leakesville, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Radney Funeral Home in Saraland will announce arrangements.

Sadie B. Spiers
CHICKASAW - Sadie Belle Spiers, a native of Wilcox County who resided in Chickasaw, died Saturday at a local hospital. She was 90.
She is survived by a daughter, Clara V. Reeves; three sons, Jack Peek, Charlie J. Peek and James H. Spiers Jr.; a brother, Early Sheffield; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy E. Podgorski
NORTHBROOK, Ill. - Dorothy E. Podgorski, a real estate agent, died Saturday. She was 76.
Mrs. Podgorski lived 21 years in Grand Bay, Ala., until she joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served during World War II.
A resident of Northbrook, she was a native of Florence, Tenn.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Podgorski of St. Louis, Mo., and Terry Podgorski and Bruce Podgorski, both of Chicago; six daughters, Cecelia Drazek, Phyllis Gustafson and Sandra Miller, all of Chicago, Theresa Fiset of St. Petersburg, Fla., Wanda Allinson of Waco, Texas, and Victoria Podgorski of New York; a brother, Orman Moore of Grand Bay; four sisters, Monta Tourtelot, Iris Travaioli, Gerry Simonetti and Wanda Nealy; and 16 grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles, Ill. Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Brook Catholic Church in Northbrook, with burial at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside, Ill.
