ATHENS -- Funeral for Lillie Nichols McKee, 97, of Athens will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Herbert Chittam and Robert Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Miss Nichols died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born Feb. 7, 1902, in Springhill, Tenn. She was a member of Hobbs Street Church of Christ and was retired as a nurse at Athens-Limestone Hospital, Decatur General Hospital and Jackson Hospital.

She is survived by nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will Jackson McKee, Brian McKee, Jim Estes, Keith Priestly, Jimmy Priestly and Grady Morrow.

Elders of Hobbs Street Church of Christ and Tanner Church of Christ will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tenn.

Ethel Louise Norman

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ethel Louise Norman, 91, of Athens will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewey Craft and the Rev. Rick Craft officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Norman died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was born Sept. 7, 1908, in Smithville, Tenn. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Athens. She is survived by one son, David H. Norman of Athens; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Norman, Dan Norman, Richard Norman, David Green , Don Cox and Mike Shores.

Kathy Marie Norman
39, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Kathy Marie Norman, 39, of Elkmont will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Pettusville Cemetery.

Mrs. Norman died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born July 18, 1960, in Limestone County to Carl and Erma Norman. She was a homemaker. She was the sister of the late Benny Norman.

She is survived by four sons, Justin Bunn and Tommy Holt, both of Elkmont, Kenny Haggermaker of Decatur and Jace Hughes of Athens; one daughter, Wendy Norman of Elkmont; her mother, Era Norman of Elkmont; three brothers, Larry Holt and Jimmy Norman, both of Elkmont, and Rex Norman of Prospect, Tenn.; six sisters, Polly Hicks of Lexington, Jean Reeder of West Frankford, Ill., Pam Neal of Huntsville, Dean Davidson of Decatur, Shelia Cox of Elkmont and Gail Adams of Athens; and one granddaughter.

LaMoyne Richardson Sr.
77, TVA retiree

ATHENS -- Funeral for LaMoyne Richardson Sr., 77, of Athens will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Clements Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Anderson officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, Ark. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Richardson died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 30, 1922, in Monette, Ark. He was a Navy veteran and was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a member of Clements Baptist Church, the American Legion, and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 72 of Knoxville. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Knoxville.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Bernice Richardson; one son, LaMoyne Richardson Jr. of Montgomery; three daughters, Kathy Hensley of Mountain Home, Ark., Virginia Worthington of Pasadena, Calif., and Gail Springer of Athens; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Clements Baptist Church building fund.

Thurman Rosco Siniard
88, farmer

ATHENS -- Funeral for Thurman Rosco Siniard, 88, of Anderson will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. A. Ray Blankenship officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Siniard died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Limestone Health Facility. He was born April 25, 1911, in Limestone County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one son, Darwin Siniard of Goodsprings; three granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.

Nephews and grandchildren will be pallbearers.

Annie Wynema Smith Southard
75, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Annie Wynema Smith Southard, 75, of Athens will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Robert Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Southard died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Limestone County to John and Lucy Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Tanner Church of Christ. She was the widow of Lawrence Sheldon Southard, the sister of the late Jerrell Smith and the grandmother of the late Ronnie Chittam.

She is survived by one son, Lawrence Southard of Athens; three daughters, Ann Chittam of Athens, Juanita Tate of Nashville and Charlene Brannan of Montgomery; one brother, Clinton Smith of Decatur; one sister, Edna Green haw of Athens; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Nephews and grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Ernest Richard Speegle
88, iron worker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Ernest Richard Speegle, 88, of Hanceville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Bailey and the Rev. Bob Sawyer officiating.

Burial will be in Shoal Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Speegle died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham. He was born Jan. 26, 1912, in Hartselle to Sam and Florence Speegle. He was an iron worker.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Speegle; one son, David Speegle of Pinellas Park, Fla.; one daughter, Lielani Gayle of Thomasville, Ga.; two sisters, Ann Usrey and Pearl Gilliam, both of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Myrtie Lee 'Snooks' Thomas

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Myrtie Lee "Snooks" Thomas, 69, of Falkville will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Hicks officiating.

Burial will be in Bell Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomas died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Cullman to Boyd Ancil Cobb and Cora Ethel Suits Cobb. She was a supervisor at King Edward Cigar. She was the sister of the late John B. Cobb, Stella Mae Thomas, Lorene Cobb and Catherine Bivins and the grandmother of the late Shane Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Thomas; one daughter, Joan Davis of Vinemont; five sisters, Ellene Moore of Green sboro, N.C., Doris Banks of Falkville, Dorothy Speegle of Crane Hill, Christene Garner of Lancaster, S.C., and Barbara McDonald of Priceville; and two grandchildren.

Virgil Thomas Widner
70, farmer

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Virgil Thomas Widner, 70, of Eva will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Etha Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Dean Estes officiating.

Burial will be in Etha Baptist Cemetery with Williams-McCracken Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Widner died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born March 11, 1929, in Morgan County to Thomas and Lula Mae Briscoe Widner. He was a farmer.He was the brother of the late Jessie Widner, Dewey Widner, Lillie Mae Campbell and Iolar Waldrop.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth Widner of Eva; two daughters, Debrah Earwood of Baileyton and June Stacy of Eva; one brother, Dewitt Widner of Falkville; two sisters, Clara Fowler of Eva and Audie Mayo of Falkville; and eight grandchildren.

William Robert Barksdale II

PELHAM -- Memorial service for William Robert Barksdale II, 29, of Birmingham will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Lee officiating.

Burial will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery in Columbus, Ga., with the Rev. Hal Noble officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

Mr. Barksdale died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Birmingham. He was born Aug. 14, 1970, in Columbus. A graduate of Auburn High School, he attended Southern Union College and was a purchasing manager at Southeastern Meats in Birmingham.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie S. Barksdale; his parents, Gordon T. and Joan H. Barksdale of Decatur; one brother, Jeffrey L. Barksdale of Montgomery; one sister, Elise A. Barksdale of Boulder, Colo.; and his grandmother, Irene H. Holland of Columbus.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Susie Anderson Bartlett

Mrs. Bartlett died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1901, in Limestone County to Dock and Bobbie Crutcher Anderson. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Earl Williams and R.C. Bartlett, both of Nashville, and Booker T. Bartlett and Bennie B. Bartlett, both of Belle Mina; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Viola Fuller Haney

Mrs. Haney died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 28, 1903, in Lawrence County to Frankie and Lucy Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Holy Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Wallace Fuller of Moulton and the Rev. Vernon Fuller of Bradleyville, Mo.; four daughters, Lucille Daniel of Decatur, Mildred Drake and Maggie LouAllen, both of Moulton, and Linda Woodall of Falkville; 33 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
