Mr. Moore died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Morgan County to Thomas Jefferson and Idella Luke Moore. He was a finisher at Wolverine Tube and a military policeman in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Montez Jones Moore; one son, Johnny Quinoth Moore of Cullman; two daughters, Charlotte W. Maddux and Quinita E. Harris, both of Cullman; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Arlene Mankin Pfeiffer

HOMEWOOD -- Funeral for Arlene Mankin Pfeiffer, 85, of Homewood will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Private Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Pfeiffer died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Trumbull, Neb. She was a homemaker and earned a nursing degree from the University of Nebraska. She was a member of the Birmingham Cruising Club, Les Meres (mothers' study group), Audubon Society and the Alabama Cattlemen Association. She was the widow of Dr. Ralph Burton Pfeiffer.
She is survived by two sons, Karl Ian Pfeiffer of Birmingham and Dr. Ralph Burton Pfeiffer Jr. of Mobile; two daughters, Jane Ann Pfeiffer Ford of Decatur and Christina Pax Pfeiffer Killcreas of Starkville, Miss.; one brother, Blake Mankin of Hastings, Neb.; two sisters, Izona Best of Williamsburg, Va., and Roena Manchreck of Lewiston, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral for James. W. "Chick" Sparkman, 75, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Sparkman died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1925, to Tennis and Annis Sparkman. He attended Southside Baptist Church, played baseball with American Legion Post 15 and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service as a carrier, and also worked part-time for the city of Decatur sign shop.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett C. Sparkman; three sisters, Ruth Butler, Margaret Pressnell and Mildred Stephenson, all of Decatur; and one brother, Billy Sparkman of Tuscaloosa.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Mrs. Werdebaugh died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1922, in Lawrence County to Frank and Martha Terry. She was retired from King Foods and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 4190.
She is survived by two sons, Charles G. Werdebaugh and Billy J. Werdebaugh, both of Decatur; one sister, Mildred Oakley of Decatur; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

She is survived by four daughters, Helen Cabknor of Nashville, Martha Jackson of Detroit, and Alice Harden and Tommi Steve, both of Athens; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Young died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at National Health Care of Chattanooga. She was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Bridgeport to John and Carrie Torbett Quarles. She was a life-long resident of Bridgeport and was owner/operator of Lois & Louise Beauty Shop. She was a member of Bridgeport First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. She was the widow of Ernest Eugene Young and the mother of the late Chris Young.
She is survived by one son, Mike Young of Decatur; one sister, Lillian Littlejohn of Bridgeport; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Young, Warren Whitcher, Dexter Tuck, Jim Phillips, George Werner and Marion Castle.

Mr. Holloway died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born March 25, 1916, in Lawrence County. He was the owner of Holloway's Bar-B-Q in Hartselle and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Thornton Jones

Mr. Jones died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Sept. 22, 1905, in Limestone County, to Sid and Ella Jones. He was a member and elder of New Heaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He worked as a farmer and later at the Tennessee Valley Co-op, from which he retired in the mid-1960s.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Bell Garrison and Savannah Brown, both of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Officers of the church will be pallbearers.

Mr. Stewart died Jan. 31, 2000, at his home. He was born June 17, 1920, in Lawrence County to Andrew and Pearl Fuller Stewart. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Point Mallard Church of Christ and was retired from Decatur Ready Mix Concrete where he worked as a truck driver and mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Stewart; two sons, Wayne Stewart of Trinity and Eugene Stewart of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Sue Johnson of Hartselle; three brothers, Preston Stewart and Leldon Stewart, both of Trinity, and Aulton Stewart of Hartselle; two sisters, Mary Wade of Florence and Clara Jenkins of Decatur; and grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Ms. Sullins died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born July 23, 1958, in Cullman County. She was a technician at Chrysler Corp. in Huntsville. She was the daughter of the late William Howard Sullins.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Darlene and Junior Blalock of Cullman; one sister, Rita Bell of Owens Cross Roads; and her grandmother, Lois Long of Cullman.

Mr. Terry died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Lawrence County to Ellis and Hester Ann Terry. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired construction worker with C.W. Paving Company and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Town Creek.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Mae Terry; one son, Ulan Dee Terry of Courtland; one daughter, Beverly Terry of Town Creek; four daughters, Nora Terry of Moulton and Etta Montgomery, Janie Reed and Jeffie Letson, all of Town Creek; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Vess, Lamar Vess, Thomas Long, Charles Long, Jimmy Terry and Dale Parker.

He is survived by three sons, Leslie Clark of Decatur, Billy Van Clark of Hartselle and Ken Clark of Priceville; one daughter, Monta Ellis of Huntsville; one brother, Steve Hester of Arab; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
