LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. -- Funeral for James Luther Mink, 76, of Lawrenceburg was to be today at 2 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Champion and the Rev. Robert H. Spain officiating.
Burial was to be in Center Point Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Mink died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Tennessee. He was a retired insurance agent for Life of Georgia Insurance, where he worked for 32 years. He was the widower of Selma Ezell Mink and the father of the late Freda June Mine. He attended Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, James Randall Mink of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Marilyn Chandler of Leoma, Tenn., and Regina Kemper of Lawrenceburg; one brother, William Russell Mink of Decatur; one sister, Reba Christine Gillespie of Gurley; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Clara Berry Sanders

Graveside service for Clara Berry Sanders, 89, of Newnan, Ga., formerly of Decatur, was Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Harry H. Barrow officiating and McKoon Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Sanders died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Wesley Woods Nursing Home in Atlanta. She was born June 27, 1910, in Decatur to Fred and Evelyn Wyker Hunt. She was a member of Newnan Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and catechism. A graduate of Sullins College, she was responsible for founding a Girl Scout camp and was chosen Outstanding Citizen of Coweta County in the 1950s. She was the widow of Walter D. Sanders.
She is survived by three daughters, Letitia Downing of Novata, Calif., and Evelyn Haugen and Melissa Thomas, both of Newnan; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Alexander died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1944, in Lawrence County to Theron and Lacie Yarbrough Alexander. He was a Baptist and a backhoe operator.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Alexander; one son, Keith Alexander of Courtland; two daughters, Sherri Smith of Danville and Shane Newman of Trinity; five brothers, Arthur Gene Alexander and Jerry Wayne Alexander, both of Moulton, Kenneth Alexander and J.T. Alexander, both of Lafayette, Ind., and Roy Alexander of Decatur; and four sisters, Hazel Terry of Courtland, Pauline Owen of Moulton, Yvonnia "Poochie" Alexander of Decatur and Martha Mayfield of Cullman.

Mrs. Chapman died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. She was born March 29, 1918, in Red Bay to John L. and Bama Harrison. She was a homemaker and a member of Northwood United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Ozro Orman Chapman.
She is survived by one son, John O. Chapman of Burlington, N.C.; five stepchildren; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Craig died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Dec. 21, 1914, in Lawrence County to Grover and Ila Hollimon Bradford. She was a homemaker and a charter member of New Zion Baptist Church. She was the widow of Paul Craig and the sister of the late Cleo Bradford and L.L. Bradford Sr.
She is survived by two sons, John Craig of Florence and David Craig of Moulton; two daughters, Bonita Byars of Town Creek and Sue Appleton of Moulton; one brother, Sam Bradford of Russellville; two sisters, Jane Cameron of Moulton and Mary Lee Conner of Florence; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Georgia Miller Crane

Mrs. Crane died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Huntsville to Ed Payne Miller Sr. and Mildred Fry Chapman. She was a graduate of Huntsville High School and The University of Alabama. She received her master's degree in education and education specialist degree from Alabama A&M University.
She taught at Walter Jackson Elementary School for 30 years and served as president of the Decatur Education Association from 1986 to 1987. She was voted Teacher of the Year by the State Board of Education District 6 in 1987.
She was past president of the Alabama Retired Teachers Association and the Morgan County Retired Teachers Association, served on the Alabama Education Association board of directors from 1997 to 1998, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers society and Kappa Kappa Iota teachers organization.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and teacher for the Crane-Hagerman Sunday school class. She was the sister of the late William Cantrell Miller and the Rev. Ed Payne Miller Jr.
She is survived by one son, James Allyn Crane II of Decatur; two daughters, Melissa Crane Morton and Jennie Crane Roberts, both of Decatur; four sisters, Marion McCaskill of Tupelo, Miss., Sue Kaufman of Huntsville, Mildred Harper and Peggy Countess, both of Decatur; and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Brent Chandler, Gil Crane, Cooper Frazier, Tom Edgil, Brian Neill, Max Patterson, Tom Patterson and Doug Rogers.

Mrs. Garner died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born March 14, 1912, in Lawrence County to William Jackson Waters and Martha Dutton Waters. She was a member of Somerville Road Church of Christ and retired from Decatur General Hospital as a licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by one son, Wiley Garner of Cullman; three daughters, Sibyl Woodruff of Decatur, Barbara Statum of Homewood and Glyndell Allred of Porterville, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hardy died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1909, in Kentucky to Otis T. and Laura B. Peyton Hardy. He was a farmer, a carpenter and a member of Center Springs United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Oneal Hardy of Decatur; seven daughters, Laverne Lemmond of Hartselle, Yetalee McCutcheon of Lacey's Spring, Faye Blankenship of Decatur and Bobby Taylor, Sue Cook, Frances Reeves and Elayne Clark, all of Somerville; one brother, Carter Hardy of Valhermoso Springs; one sister, Sylvia Harbin of Madison Heights, Mich; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, W.B. Harvey; one daughter, Kaye Clemons of Hartselle; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hooper died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in Moulton. He was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Lawrence County to Louis C. and Ethel Roberts Hooper. He was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ, past chairman of the Lawrence County Democratic Committee and retired from Wolverine Tube Inc. in Decatur. He was the widower of Edna Jacobs Hooper.
He is survived by one son, James Edward Hooper of Moulton; one daughter, Joyce Hooper Witt of Moulton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Charles Francis Horton Sr.

TUSCALOOSA -- Funeral for Charles Francis Horton Sr., 67, of Cherokee Hills, formerly of Hillsboro, was Dec. 7, 1999, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Morgan, the Rev. Dr. Mack Chapman and the Rev. Dr. Duncan Hunter officiating.
Burial was in Panola United Methodist Church Cemetery with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Horton died Dec. 5, 1999, at his home. He was born Sept. 7, 1932, in Decatur to Paul and Myrle Almon Horton. He was the brother of the late Roy Holland Horton.
A graduate of Riverside High School, he received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and master's degrees in accounting and education from The University of Alabama. He joined Jamison, Money, Farmer and Co. in 1959 and was admitted as a shareholder in 1966.
His primary areas of concentration were tax, finance, refinancing, estate planning, tax planning, and acquisitions and sales of businesses. His industry niches were farming and agricultural-related companies.
He was involved in the formation of small businesses in Tuscaloosa and was associated with the U.S. Small Business Administration. He was the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Administration's Entrepreneur of the Year in 1997.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and served at the state level as a member of Alabama Commission of Higher Education. He taught classes on various tax issues at his alma mater and across the country. He was a board member of Miracle Riders, a therapy program for disabled children, and was past president of Tuscaloosa Tip-Off Club, Tuscaloosa Quarterback Club and YMCA Men's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile Oliver Horton; one son, Charles F. Horton Jr. of Tuscaloosa; three daughters, Catherine Eisen of San Antonio, and Cynthia Montgomery and Paula Horton, both of Tuscaloosa; and five grandchildren.
