Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery in Hartselle. The family will receive friends today from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Roberts died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. He was born May 28, 1936, in Morgan County to Vander and Edith Roberts. He was a farmer and commercial fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Roberts; one son, Elmer Lee Roberts Jr. of Lacey's Spring; two daughters, Ann Mahaffey of Hartselle and Sylvia Kay McBride of Section; his mother of Hartselle; two brothers, Roy Roberts of Valhermoso Springs and David Roberts of Hartselle; two sisters, Lillian Abner and Lorene Simmons, both of Hartselle; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Abner, Willard Abner, Clyde Barrett, Chris Mahaffey, David Youngblood and Daniel Youngblood.

Mrs. Stapler died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born May 29, 1947, in Madison County. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Stapler; five daughters, Tammy Stapler, Celeste Hammonds, Misty Stapler and Erica Stapler, all of Lacey's Spring, and Celena Scott of Union Hill; her mother, Leona Wilson of Huntsville; six brothers, Pete Wilson of Lacey's Spring, Wayne Wilson and Jearl Wilson, both of Huntsville, Allen Wilson of Harvest, Don Wilson of Morgan City and Fred Wilson of Brownsboro; five sisters, Georgia Anders, Barbara Kennemer, Melissa McCutcheon, Kathy Traglia and Bonnie Soloman, all of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Terry died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2000, at his home. He was born June 28, 1934, in Tupelo, Miss. He was a retired salesman and the widower of Jane K. Terry.
He is survived by one son, Bradley K. Terry of Prattville; his mother, Edna C. Terry of Courtland; two brothers, Ronnie K. Terry and Johnnie T. Terry, both of Decatur; and one sister, Corrine T. Kimbrell of Dunwoody, Ga.

Mrs. Tippett died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000. She was a native of Courtland and a member of Muscle Shoals Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Tippett, the mother of the late Sherry Tippett and the sister of the late Judy Webb.
She is survived by five sons, Randy Tippett of Phil Campbell, Ronnie Tippett of Florence, Larry Tippett of Tuscumbia, Mark Tippett of Muscle Shoals and Tim Tippett of Hopatcong, N.J.; one daughter, Deborah Austin of Goodyear, Ariz.; two brothers, Billy Hill of Mount View, Ark., and J.C. Hill of Wilton, Wis.; four sisters, Linda South and Doris White, both of Decatur, Joyce Carter of Henderson, Tenn., and Janet Lackey of Moulton; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Turner died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Limestone County, where she was a lifelong resident. She was the owner and operator of Binford Turner Grocery Store in Ripley for more than 35 years. She was a member of Woodmen of the World and Riddle's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the mother of the late Mahlon Turner.
She is survived by her husband, Binford Turner; one daughter, Gay Terry of Athens; one brother, Edward Russell of Athens; two sisters, Dorothy R. Pendleton of Athens and Almetta R. Colwell of Forrest Heights, Md.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ATHENS -- Funeral for William Dale Black, 73, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Wayne Holt and Mike Davis officiating.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Black died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 28, 1926, in Limestone County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Alabama National Guard for 40 years. He was the brother of the late Gilbert Black.
He is survived by his wife, Florene Holt Black; one brother, Buster Black of Athens; and one sister, Edna Stone of Athens.
Pallbearers were to be former members of the Alabama National Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Limestone County Kidney Association or the Special Olympics.

Mrs. Gilliam died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Decatur to Roy and Alice Peters Brewer. She operated an in-home day-care service and was a member of Manville Apostolic Church. She was the sister of the late Lucille Brewer, John C. Brewer, Roy Brewer Jr., Bill Brewer and Henry Brewer.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William M. "Red" Gilliam; three sons, Ricky Gilliam of Blountville, Tenn., Junior Gilliam of Gray, Tenn., and Allen Faulk of Kingsport; one daughter, Debbie Shefa of Carrollton, Ga.; two brothers, Bud Brewer of Moulton and Pelham Brewer of Tanner; two sisters, Mary Kyle of Falkville and Sue Michalovic of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Gilliam, Jerry Gilliam, Aaron Carr, Randy Monroe, Billy Ryans, Johnny Sampson, Jack Thompson and Harold Gilliam.

Mrs. Hanks died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1906, in Giles County, Tenn., to A.W. Chapman and Minnie Eakes Chapman.
She was a charter member of East Jackson Street Church of Christ and moved with the congregation in 1925 to Grant Street Church of Christ, which she attended the rest of her life. She was the cafeteria manager at Calhoun Community College for 21 years before retiring in 1973.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Hanks Parr of Hartselle; one brother, Bill Chapman of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Glen Spencer, Jim Meadows, David Parr, Doug Chapman, Don Chapman, Don Wilkerson, Johnny Mathews and Jim Swanner.
John Milton Caudle

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for John Milton Caudle, 79, of Huntsville will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with Dr. Ralph Langley officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Caudle died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Gorgas to Stephen Anthony and Una Mae Wheeler Caudle. He was a World War II veteran who served with the 8th Armored Division and was awarded the Bronze Star in connection with military operations in Germany. He was an engineer on the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions and retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 1978. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Williams Caudle; three sons, Stephen Caudle of Trinity, Dan Caudle of Birmingham and John Caudle of New Hope; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Howard, Jim Maples, Andy Cline, Keith Miller, Gil Caudle and Carl Goss.

She is survived by one adopted son, Billy Counts Johnson of Mount Hope; and two brothers, Roy Johnson of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Aaron Johnson of Ponahawk, Wis.

Mr. King died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at home. He was born Nov. 4, 1930, in Limestone County to Hagan Manuel and Leear Ethel Foster King. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. He was the father of the late Barry D. King.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Joye King; one son, Paul King of Athens; four daughters, Gladys Christian and Sherry Bowling, both of Elkmont, Julie Hill of Youngsville, N.C., and Joy Leopard of Athens; three brothers, Thomas King and William G. King, both of Athens, and Wayne King of Elkmont; two sisters, Martha Pirtle and Ruby Hall, both of Athens; seven grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
