TRINITY -- Funeral for Opal Dale Bain, 87, of Trinity will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Mike Nix and Hoyt Nelson officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bain died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1912, in Lawrence County to William Jackson and Sarah Jane Little Montgomery. She was a member of Moulton Church of Christ and was a foster parent in Lawrence County for 10 years.

Mrs. Bain is survived by four daughters, Delores McWhorter of Madison, Patsy Campbell of Harvest, Judy Jones and Gail Jones, both of Moulton; one sister, Esterbee Rutherford of Landersville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey C. Campbell, Dustin Bain Curtis, John Campbell, Ryan Jones, Rodney Jones and Nathan Lee.

Irwin Doyle Cahela
62, funeral director

MOULTON -- Funeral for Irwin Doyle Cahela, 62, of Moulton will today at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. O.D. Bowling officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. Cahela died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence. He was born Sept, 24, 1937, in Lawrence County. He was a funeral director at Elliott Funeral Home for 30 years. He also served as the Lawrence County Coroner for 10 years. He was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ

Mr. Cahela is survived by his wife, Corine Owens Cahela; two daughters, Melonee Wilkerson of Moulton and Janet Cahela of Cullman; three brothers, Henry Cahela and Archie Cahela, both of Moulton and Arnold Cahela of Sun City West, Ariz.; one sister, Frances Cahela of Moulton; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Keith Bullard, Tracy Bullard, Colin Owens, Chris Cahela, Keith Cahela and Ricky Swann.

Eulyla Theolene Johnson
71, retired teacher

MOULTON -- Funeral for Eulyla Theolene Johnson, 71, of Mount Hope was to be today at 11 a.m. at Old Town Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. R. C. Borden and the Rev. Elmer Fowler officiating.

Burial was to be in Rocksprings Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at her residence. She was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and was retired from the Lawrence County Board of Education as a teacher.

She is survived by one adopted son, Billy Counts Johnson of Mount Hope; and two brothers, Roy Johnson of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Aaron Johnson of Ponahawk, Wis. Pallbearers will be Henry Ford, Steve Miller, Johnny Riggs, Danny Russell, Doug Kimbrough and Chris Borden.

Mary Ellis Jordan
62, homemaker

Funeral for Mary Ellis Jordan, 62, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at Pentecostal House of Prayer with the Rev. A.C. Strong officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7 at Sharpley Funeral Home and one hour before the service in the church.

Mrs. Jordan died at home Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000.

She was born April 19, 1937, in Banks to Millie Tolbert Goolsby and Ed Goolsby Sr. She moved to Anderson, Ind., as a child. She was a member of Greater Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church. She married George Robert Jordan Sr. on Nov. 17, 1968. She moved to Decatur in 1983 and became a member of Pentecostal House of Prayer.

She is survived by her husband; her father; five daughters, Georgia Ann Jordan of Decatur, Linda Mae Rutues of Anderson, Ind., Edna Mae Richardson and Marilyn Sue Reedus, both of Decatur, and Rosemary Pointer of Oakville; two sons, Larry Darnell Goolsby of Anderson, Ind., and Timothy James Jordan of Decatur; one stepson, George Jordan Jr. of Jackson, Tenn.; four brothers, Ed Goolsby Jr. and Robert Goolsby, both of Anderson, Ind., Willie Frank Goolsby of Ashford and Edward Earl Goolsby of Indianapolis, Ind.; five sisters, Mary Jodale Pearson, Barbara Lee Goolsby, Sharon Denise Goolsby, all of Anderson, Ind., Cynthia Maria Goolsby and Debra Delena Goolsby, both of Jackson, Miss.; 25 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dwight Goolsby, James Smith, William Adkins, Willie Stover, Sammie Foster and Freddie Green .

Alexander Kirk Sr.
78, retired

Funeral for Alexander Kirk Sr., 78, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Cartwright officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Kirk died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Lawrence County to Jessie Kirk and Susie Polk Kirk. He was retired from Decatur General Hospital. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Jones Kirk; seven sons, Calvin Kirk of Huntsville, Ronald Kirk, William Kirk, Larry Kirk and Max Kirk, all of Decatur, Jackie Kirk of Atlanta, Ga., and Alexander Kirk Jr. of Michigan; six daughters, Carolyn Bell of Chattanooga, Tenn., Janice Moseley, Lenore Fuqua, Kathy Jones Kirk, Sandra Gilbert and Susie Kirk, all of Decatur.

Sons will be pallbearers.

Johnny Mack McConnell Sr.
43, electrician

MOULTON -- Graveside service for Johnny Mack McConnell Sr., 43, of Moulton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Moulton Memory Gardens with the Rev. Ray McWhorter officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Mr. McConnell died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence. He was born Jan. 25, 1957, in Limestone County to Artell and Edna King McConnell. He was an electrician and a member of the Alabama National Guard for eight years.

He is survived by one son, Johnny Mack McConnell Jr. of Elkmont; one brother, Ted McConnell Sr. of Moulton; and one sister, Patricia Scott of Athens.

Pallbearers will be T.J. McConnell, Daniel McCary, Kevin Browning, Marshall Green e, Ronnie Newborn, Greg Bryant, Craig Gilliam and Rusty Bates.

Barry Wayne Melson

TRINITY -- Funeral arrangements for Barry Wayne Melson, 32, of Trinity, who died today, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home, will be announced by Parkway Funeral Home.

Emma Farmer Nunnelley
86, homemaker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Emma Farmer Nunnelley, 86, of Simcoe was to be today at 1 p.m. at Simcoe Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Baker officiating.

Burial was to be in the church cemetery with Moss-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Nunnelley died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Valley View Health Care Center in Madison. She was born April 14, 1913, in Georgia to John Eli Farmer and Martha Luella Gentry Farmer. She was a homemaker and the widow of Ossie Nunnelley. She was the mother of the late Donald Nunnelley.

She is survived by one son, the Rev. Morris Nunnelley of Fairview; two daughters, Maxine Harris of Scottsboro and Gail Drake of Hartselle; one sister, Lorene Moon of Simcoe; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Linzie 'R.L.' Ralph Jr.

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Robert Linzie "R.L." Ralph Jr., 71, of Vinemont was to be today at 3 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Brown and the Rev. Tim Holt officiating. Burial was to be in Flint Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Ralph died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Morgan County. He was a manager at Kayo Oil Co. for 20 years. He was the son of the late Robert Linzie Ralph Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Nell Garrett Ralph; three sons, Eugene Ralph, Donald Ralph and John Ralph, all of Vinemont; one daughter, Anita Dean of Good Hope; his mother, Eunice Ralph of Cullman; one brother, John Ralph of Fruitvale, Texas; three sisters, Gracie Petty of Fort Worth, Texas, Susie Cadle of Vinemont and Helen Bowen of Trimble; and two grandchildren.

Tamiko 'Tommie' Schrader

Mrs. Schrader died at home Monday, Feb. 14, 2000. She was born Jan. 2, 1934, in Japan.

She is survived by her husband, James Schrader; two sons, Michael Schrader of Town Creek and Stevie Schrader of Decatur; one daughter, Tina Price of Decatur; two brothers, Tatsuya Yamamoto and Noriya Yamamoto, both of Japan; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Greg Clark, Jeff Clark, Mark Clark, Ronnie Richardson, Chris Wunsch and Fritz Wunsch.

James Edison Adams
69, Goodyear retiree

ATHENS -- Funeral for James Edison Adams, 69, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. P.J. Jenkins officiating.

Burial was to be in Sandlin Cemetery.

Mr. Adams died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his home. He was born April 3, 1930, in Limestone County. He was a member of Somerville Church of God, a dairy farmer in Limestone County for most of his life and was retired as a weaver from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen S. Adams; three sons, Johnny C. Adams of Madison, Marshall Adams of Union Grove and Anthony Adams of Arab; two daughters, Janice Daniels and Marcella Pressnell, both of Madison; two brothers, Johnny D. Adams and C. Edward Adams, both of Athens; two sisters, Onnie Mae Hicks of Decatur and Lucille Tucker of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Jerry Adams, John Adams, Tommy Tucker, Steve Sims, Joe Sims and Steve Sims.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or the American Lung Association.

Trischel Cordes

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Trischel Cordes, 91, of Decatur will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Cordes officiating.

Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Ms. Cordes died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at her home. She was born March 10, 1908, in Cullman County to Henry and Fannie Blalock Cordes. She was a secretary for an insurance company and lived and worked most of her life in Cullman. She was the sister of the late Herbert O. Cordes.

She is survived by two nephews, Ernest Cordes of Cullman and Melvin Cordes of Vinemont; and one niece, Lucille Looney of Decatur.

Robert Daniel Sr.
59, machinist

ATHENS -- Funeral for Robert Daniel Sr., 59, of Elkmont will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at People's Funeral Home with the Rev. Ollie McWilliams officiating.

Burial will be in Thatch-Mann Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Daniel died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home. He was born May 12, 1940, in Limestone County. He was a machinist with Teledyne Wahchang in Huntsville and was a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Veto.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Daniel; two sons, Michael Daniel and Robert Daniel Jr., both of Elkmont; three daughters, Valeria Daniel and Daphna Daniel, both of Athens, and Tanya Townsend of Elkmont; and four grandchildren.

Mattie Mae Graham

FLORENCE -- Funeral for Mattie Mae Graham, 89, of Florence will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Mike Brooks and Fred Dillon officiating.

Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Graham died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Shoals Medical Center. She was born Jan. 3, 1911, in Lawrence County. Reared in Decatur, she moved to Florence in 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of E.R. Graham and the mother of the late Donald Edward Graham.

She is survived by two sons, Billy Graham and Bobby Graham, both of Florence; one daughter, Geraldine O'Dell of Muscle Shoals; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mars Hill Bible School.
