ATHENS -- Funeral for William Smythe Orman Jr., 47, of Madison, formerly of Athens, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Lackey officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 3 to 7 p.m. at his parents' home at 19650 Elkton Road in Athens.
Mr. Orman died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 24, 1952, in Morgan County. He graduated from Athens High School in 1970 and attended The University of Alabama. He received a bachelor's degree from Athens State University and a master's degree from the University of North Alabama. He was a teacher, assistant coach, assistant principal and administrator in Athens City Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens.
He is survived by his parents, William Smythe Orman Sr. and Wynell Gargus Orman, both of Athens; and two sisters, Charlotte Orman Hinton of Missouri City, Texas, and Jacqueline Orman Rausch of Richmond, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Earl Pepper, Bob Newton, Bruce Newton, Bob Bossi, Anthony Competello, Mark Hinton, Steve Rausch and Don Tucker.
Alice Levene Callahan Speake

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Alice Levene Callahan Speake, 69, of Hartselle will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Jimmy Ricketts officiating.

Mrs. Speake died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Lawrence County to Emmett Paul and Grace Miranda Morgan Callahan. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired licensed practical nurse at Lawrence County Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Lee and Roger Speake, both of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tom Hines, Alan Vinson, Jonathan Ester, Jim Sanford, Carl Speake and Neil Peuitt.

BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Graveside service for O.R. Trent, 86, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at Oak Lawn Cemetery with Crouch Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Trent died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1913, in Batesville to Amos and Alice Henley Trent. He was retired as a self-employed antiques dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Trent; one daughter, Florence M. Caudle of Hartselle; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Floyd William Vaughn

Mr. Vaughn died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Limestone County to Fred and Janie Martin Vaughn. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, he was an auctioneer and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Vaughn; two sons, Rick Vaughn and Roger Vaughn, both of Decatur; two daughters, Denise Delk of Bartow, Fla., and Shannon Hopkins of Trinity; one brother, Earl "Buddy" Vaughn of Hartselle; and five grandchildren.
Martha Watson
Graveside service for Martha Watson of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bonnie Romans officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Watson died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Decatur to Kelley and Ina Mae Abernathy Watson. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was the sister of the late Melonae Watson-Sims.
She is survived by three sisters, Nan Knight of Decatur and Ravenna Childers and Margaret Childers, both of Hartselle.

Mrs. Caudell died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at her home. She was born May 30, 1912, in Mount Hope. She was the owner of Caudell's Antique Collectables and the widow of Ralph Junior Caudell. She was a lifelong member of Fultondale Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Ralph Caudell of Decatur; two daughters, Jean Frank and Barbara Brooks, both of Birmingham; one sister, Annie Lee Jenkins of Decatur; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Nell Cunningham; three sons, Randy Cunningham, Billy Cunningham and Sandy Cunningham, all of Decatur; four brothers, Clarence Cunningham of Mountain Brook and Talmadge Cunningham, Paul Cunningham and Dale Cunningham, all of Sumiton; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Gibson died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, N.C. She was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Jefferson County to Charles Peyton and Ava Alieen Mayo Rigler. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of America, a first Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II who served in London and in the states, a homemaker and former resident of Clemson, S.C. and Alabama.
She is survived by her husband, Pryce Byrd Gibson of Shelby N.C.; three sons, Tom Gibson of Penn Yan, N.Y., Steve Gibson of Shelby N.C. and Bill Gibson of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Elizabeth Jennings of Hendersonville, N.C.; three brothers, Paul Rigler of Freeport, Texas, Charles Rigler of Taylors, S.C. and Donald Rigler of Lake Charles, La., four sisters, Adelaide Powell of Columbia, Miss., Frances Stewart of Suches, Ga., Helen Sousley of Donnelly, Idaho and Rebecca Holshouser of Blowing Rock, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

She is survived by one brother, Dwight Bell of Coral, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Williams died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home. He was born Sept. 9, 1934 in the Oak Ridge community of Morgan County. He was a United States Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War, a retired truck driver for DSI Transport and the father of the late Jack Large.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Williams; five sons, Jerry Large of Gaylord, Mich., Russell L. Large of Denver, Colo., Billy H. Large of Mishawaka, Ind., Harlan L. Large of Port Huron, Mich., and Gary Williams of Ohio; two daughters, Bonnie L. Olson of LaPorter, Ind. and Gloria J. Lilly of Delmar, N.Y.; 17 grandchilden; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Allison died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in Guntersville. He was born May 30, 1926, in New Hope. He was a retired civil service worker from Redstone Arsenal. After his retirement in 1974, he was involved in used-car and antique furniture businesses. He was a member of Soul Harbor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Allison; one son, Keith Allison of Valhermoso Springs; two daughters, Lawanda Allison and Debbie Allison Nixon, both of Huntsville; one brother, James B. Allison of Athens; one sister, Lera Taylor of Huntsville; and one grandchild.
Richard David 'Dick' Barker

Mr. Barker died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Limestone County. He was a retired engineering technician from TVA and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by one brother, J.G. "Jack" Barker of Huntsville.
