Graveside service for Eva Free, 90, of Decatur will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Barnes officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Free died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1909, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was the widow of A.L. Free,

She is survived by one son, Aubrey Free of Birmingham; one daughter, Betty Garnett of Decatur; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Ninth Street United Methodist Church.

Audrey Mae Jackson
80, homemaker

TRINITY -- Funeral for Audrey Mae Jackson, 80, of Danville will be today at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Huey, the Rev. Chris Godbee and the Rev. Jackie Hill officiating.

Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jackson died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born May 11, 1919, in Lawrence County to W.H. and Annie Jackson. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sisters, Hilda Tucker of Decatur and Melba Chenault of Danville.

Roy M. Rice
94, Mooresville native

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Roy M. Rice, 94, of Painesville, Ohio, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Rice died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Painesville. He was born May 30, 1905, in Mooresville to George and Lillie Elizabeth Meeks Rice. He retired from Ohio Rubber Co.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Harold Rice of Huntsville and Gene D. Rice of Cleveland, Tenn.; one daughter, Shirley Fay Maloney of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, D.B. Rice of Moultrie, Ga., and Dewey "Tom" Rice of Massey; one sister, Eleanor Mae Sanders of Eva; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Russell T. Barr Jr.

Memorial service for Russell Thomas Barr Jr., 3, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Richmond Webster officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church library.

The child died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born March 12, 1996.

He is survived by his mother and father, Dr. Russell Thomas Barr and Sandy Barr; one sister, Emily Barr of Decatur; and grandparents, Tom Barr Jr. and Dorothy Barr of Huntsville and Fred Engelman and Almyra Engelman of Albertville.

Memorials may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church building fund.

Trebie R. Reid

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reid died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Parkview Health Care. She was born Jan. 23, 1916, in Morgan County to Charles N. and Lutisha Frost Ryan. A homemaker, she was sister of the late Thomas I. Ryan and Evie Dunlap and member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Cullman.

She is survived by her husband, Tillman Reid; one daughter, Jean Chambers of Huntsville; three sisters, Vivian Allen of Baileyton, Avel Randolph of Madison and Wilda Lawrence of Hartselle; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.

Raymond B. Wilson
67, Goodyear retiree

ATMORE -- Funeral for Raymond B. Wilson, 67, of Davisville were to be today at 11 a.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Horace Nall officiating.

Burial was to follow in Lottie New Home Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Baldwin County. He was born June 12, 1932, in Booneville. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer L. Wilson of Camarillo, Calif.; and two brothers, Bennette Wilson of Pensacola, Fla., and Charles Wilson of Hartselle.

Frances Beatrice Balladares
58, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Frances Beatrice Balladares, 58, of Moulton was Friday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Holy Church of Christ with Jimmy Fuller officiating.

Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Balladares died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 17, 1941, in Lawrence County to Thomas Lester Drake and Bessie Lee Dotson Drake. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Ricky Reed of Birchrun, Mich., and Carlos Medina of Moulton; one daughter, Melissa Osborn of Moulton; her mother of Moulton, two brothers, Cleveland Drake and Tommy Drake, both of Moulton; two sisters, Leona England of Danville and Betty Fuller of Moulton; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Beatrice F. Blake

Funeral for Beatrice F. Blake, 107, of Falkville will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Randon Jackson officiating.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. in West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, Ga. The family will receive friends Wednesday 30 minutes before the service.

Mrs. Blake died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 13, 1893, in Dalton to Richard and Mattie Louise Richardson Freeman. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Barney S. Blake.

She is survived by two sons, Bernard Blake of Decatur and John Blake of West Lake, Ohio; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve Blake, Paul Blake, Tyler Blake, Adam Blake and Brandon Hill.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.

John Bruce 'J.B.' Crenshaw
76, retired pharmacist

Funeral for John Bruce "J.B." Crenshaw, 76, of Decatur will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Dunivant and the Rev. Asa Boozer officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Crenshaw died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Fort Deposit to Frank and Bessie Farrior Crenshaw. A 1950 graduate of Auburn University, he was a pharmacist, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Johnson Crenshaw; two sons, John B. Crenshaw Jr. of Columbus, Ga., and Bruce C. Johnson of Birmingham; two daughters, Margaret Crenshaw of Hilton Head, S.C., and Lee Lott of Decatur; one brother, Henry F. Crenshaw of Fort Deposit; two sisters, Frances C. Redden of Fort Deposit and Anne C. Crawford of Destin, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Members of the Wesley fellowship class at First United Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Valley or a favorite charity.

Hattie Boyd Croley

ATHENS -- Funeral for Hattie Boyd Croley, 96, of Athens will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Calvin Inman and Tim Keenum officiating.

Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Croley died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 25, 1904, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by five sons, Joe W. Croley, Rowe H. Croley and Kenneth B. Croley, all of Athens, Aubrey R. Croley of Blakely, Ga., and Andy B. Croley of Fort Washington, Md.; eight daughters, Mira Ramsey of Nashville, Bettie Moyers, Edith Gooch, Marvilene Hargrove, Rena Turner and Barbara Davis, all of Athens, Frances Brooks of Battletown, Ky., and Sandra Wales of Harvest; one sister, Mildred Bass of Giles County, Tenn.; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Sardis Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Christine Pauline Davis
64, minister

Funeral for Christine Pauline Davis, 64, of Decatur will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Progressive Christian Outreach with the Rev. Arthur Warrior officiating.

Burial will be in Minor Hill Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Davis died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born May 25, 1935, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Gary and Julia Mae Smiley Brown. She worked 24 years in retail sales at Sears, Maison Morgan and Rogers, where she was a department manager. After retiring, she entered the evangelical ministry in 1998. She was a member of Progressive Christian Outreach, where she was on the Mothers' Board and worked with ministries for door greeters, the sick and shut-ins.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Davis Jr.; two daughters, Nannette Turner and Regina Owens, both of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Valerie Gibson of Huntsville; two sisters, Esther Barton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Catherine Chord of Des Moines, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Fred Steal, Andrew Allen, Shelve Williams, Limas Ro, Clarence Ro, Charles Ratline, Curtis Cross and Glenn Strain.

Wilma Jane Dobbs
90, retired nurse's aide

Graveside service for Wilma Jane Dobbs, 90, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Moss Chapel Cemetery with Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dobbs died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1909, in Morgan County to Walter P. and Ada Lovett Grant Evans. She was retired from Decatur General Hospital, where she worked as a nurse's aide in the pediatrics department, and was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she attended the Good Fellowship Sunday school class. She was the widow of James Earnest Dobbs and the sister of the late Hyman Jackson Evans, Samuel James Evans and Walter Luke Evans.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Marks of Decatur and Jean Aday of Huntsville.
