HOMEWOOD -- Funeral for Lorena "Rena" Sewell Webb, 90, of Homewood will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Garner officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Webb died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in Homewood. She was born March 10, 1909, in Decatur. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop organizer, assisted with paper-day drives at Edgewood School and helped plan the Touch and See Nature Trail garden for the blind at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. She worked for the Woman's Missionary Union from 1928-38, served as promotion and merchandising director at WBRC Radio in 1956 and retired as assistant promotions director for WBRC-TV in 1969.
She served on the Alabama Educational Television Commission, was director of American Women in Radio and Television, was president of Birmingham Lay Diabetes Society, and was vice president of Homewood Business and Professional Women, and Jefferson County Radio and TV Council. She was named to the Pilot Club Honor Roll and was nominated for Shades Valley Woman of the Year and Alabama Mother of the Year, Woman of the Year and Career Woman of the Year. She was a member of Sixth Avenue Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Garrett Wesley "Red" Webb.
She is survived by three daughters, Martha Ramirez of Tucson, Ariz., Jeanette Blankenship of Birmingham and Carol Webb of Perdido Key, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ATHENS -- Funeral for Bobby Wilson Barnes, 59, of Athens will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hester's Chapel Church of Christ with Joe Quillen and Greg Patrick officiating.
Burial will be in Hester Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Barnes died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Limestone County. He was a member of Salem Church of Christ and a security guard at Murray Guard Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Barnes; one stepson, Gerald Peterson of Athens; one stepdaughter, Sherry Smith of Athens; two brothers, Charles Barnes of LaBelle, Fla., and Wayne Barnes of Athens; three sisters, Willa Mae Coffman and Evie Kelley, both of Athens, and Anola Williams of Anderson; and one step-grandson.
Pallbearers will be Mark Coffman, Gary Coffman, Frankie Waddell, Terry Smith, Jeffery Brymer and Doyce Waddell.

Mrs. Blalock died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born May 22, 1945, in Cullman County to Mabel and John "Athel" Hamrick. She was co-publisher of The Cullman Tribune and a graduate of Hanceville High School and The University of North Alabama. She was the first woman to serve on the West Cullman Baptist Association Executive Board. She was the widow of Joseph Aaron Chapman, the mother of the late John Charles Chapman, the stepmother of the late David Delton Blalock and the sister of the late Anna Marie Hamrick.
She is survived by her husband, Delton Blalock; one daughter, Barbara "Deanna" Peak of Hanceville; three stepdaughters, Polly Blalock of Huntsville, Charity Duncan of Fairfax County, Va., and Melissa Blalock of Montgomery; her mother of Hanceville; and two brothers, John Hamrick and Jimmy Hamrick, both of Hanceville.
Pallbearers will be Dan Fulenwider, Danny Hurst, Rickey Stevens, Fielden McGlawn, Jeff Gilbreath and Gary Akin.

Mrs. Brackin died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Donaldson Nursing Home in Lincoln County, Tenn. She was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Morgan County to Willie and Annie Green hill Coleman. She was a member of Moulton Heights Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Davis Temple Primitive Baptist Church. She was a foster grandparent.
She is survived by one brother, Charles Coleman of Decatur.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Mr. Dinsmore died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born March 14, 1910, in Priceville. He was retired from Railway Express. He earned a degree from Howard University and was a member of Priceville United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Elsie Simpson Dinsmore.
He is survived by one son, William M. Dinsmore of Priceville; one daughter, Evelyn Rubin of Birmingham; one brother, Lloyd Dinsmore of Decatur; one sister, Frances McLaughlin of Birmingham; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dockery died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, in Montgomery. She was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Alabama to James Wilbert and Mary Drucilla Hollingshead. A former Decatur resident, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery. She was the widow of James L. Dockery.
She is survived by three daughters, Elaine D. Ray of Titus, Mary D. Hose of Montgomery and Margaret D. Myers of Hartford; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Ray, Rodney Myers, Adam Hose, Ben Myers, Curtis Nations, Spencer Davidson, Michael Bridgman and Taylor Bert Myers.

Mr. King died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Decatur, a retired firefighter from Memphis Fire Department and an Army veteran of World War II who served in Italy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth King; two sons, Wayne King of Memphis and Ray King of Douglasville, Ga.; four daughters, Marjorie Hines and Charla Dodd, both of Decatur, Brenda Morris of Athens and Linda Griffin of Fort Worth, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.

Mr. Owens died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 25, 1905, in Morgan County to George and Margaret Rhodes Owens. He was a member of Oak Grove First Congregational Methodist Church and the bus superintendent for Morgan County Schools for 20 years.
He is survived by three sons, Kermit Owens of Trinity, Clellie Owens of Hillsboro and Jerald Owens of Hartselle; one daughter, Marie Campbell of Trinity; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Billy Jack Ross of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Karen Sue Jackson of Moulton and Connie Ann McDaniel of Houston; one sister, Katherine McDaniel of Port Arthur; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Davis died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Dec. 5, 1909, in Lawrence County to John and Laura Locklear Davis. He was a retired farmer. He attended then Tuskegee Normal School, now Tuskegee University. He was a member of Ebenezer CME Church. He was the widower of Mary Lewis Davis.
He is survived by two sons, John Davis of Hillsboro and Marvin Davis of Decatur; two daughters, Margaret Williams and Thelma Davis, both of Decatur, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Doris Gill of Decatur; three brothers, Lawrence Davis and Curtis Davis, both of Hillsboro, and Bernard Davis of San Antonio; three sisters, Myrtle Foster of Hillsboro, Myrzie Smith of Chicago and Annie Laura Williams of Huntsville; and eight grandchildren.
