HOMEWOOD -- Graveside service for Paul Edward Puckett, 90, of Vestavia Hills will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with Ridout's Valley Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Puckett died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born July 17, 1909, in Decatur. He was a member of The Club, Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and the Guntersville Yacht Club. He was a charter member of Vestavia Hills Country Club and was a Shriner in the Zamora Temple. He was a finance company owner and worked in the finance business for more than 70 years. He and his wife were one of the first families to move to Vestavia Hills more than 50 years ago. He was the widower of Ruth Johnson Puckett.
He is survived by his daughter, Patsy Cate of Birmingham; one brother, Guinnie Puckett of Decatur; one sister, Rubye Flannagan of Moulton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Roberts died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born July 30, 1917, in Limestone County to Thomas and Liddie Sloan. She was a homemaker and a member of Flint Baptist Church. She was the widow of Earl D. Roberts.
She is survived by one daughter, Alice Belinda Roberts of Athens; and one sister, Virginia Pepper of Athens.

Mrs. Apperson died Monday, March 13, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born April 13, 1929, in Bailey Cove. She was retired from BellSouth and a member of Madison United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Apperson; one sister, Pauline Coleman of Tucson, Ariz.; and two brothers, Nathan Putman of Harvest and Lewis E. Putman of Gurley.

Mrs. Brackins died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 2, 1913, in Chattanooga to James and Cora Gibson Taylor. She was a member of Oakville Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of George Brackins Sr.
She is survived by three sons, George Allen Brackins Jr., Phillip Dean Brackins and Alvin Lewis Brackins, all of Moulton; four daughters, Geraldine Howell of Louisville, Ky., and Mildred Lee, Joycene Taylor and Hayzette Echols, all of Moulton; one brother, BurfordJones of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Dorothy Salley of Omaha and Beatrice Porter of Louisville, Ky.; and 33 grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Mr. Cain died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, in Indiana. He was born Dec. 22, 1949, in Decatur to Adlia and Elizabeth Adcock Cain. He was a member of Carmel United Methodist Church. He received a master's degree from Auburn University in 1973 and worked for Dow Agro-Sciences since 1973.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Cain; one son, David Clark Cain of Carmel; one daughter, Emily Katherine Cain of Carmel; one brother, Eddie Cain of Birmingham; and one sister, Becky Garrison of Decatur.

She is survived by three sons, Doris Oneal Chatman and James Chatman, both of Valhermoso Springs, and Lester Chatman of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Dorothy Nell Dukes of Columbus and Vella Chatman of Huntsville; her mother; four brothers, Anise Chatman and William Chatman, both of Columbus, and Billy and Jarfean Chatman, both of Valhermoso Springs; five sisters, Eloise Edwards of Valhermoso Springs, Zella McComb and Roxie Draper, both of Columbus, Martharee Horton of Grove City, Ohio, and Aileen Berry of New York City; and 10 grandchildren.
