Ms. Miller died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. She was born April 19, 1934, in Morgan County to Willie Daniel Miller and Mary Frances Cheatham Miller. She was a homemaker and a member of Corinth Church of Christ.
She is survived by one brother, B.W. Miller of Danville; and two sisters, Marie Kelsoe of Danville and Bernice Milam of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Kasey Jeffreys, Kevin Jeffreys, Stacy Kelsoe, Joey Madison, Adam Milam, Brian Hawkins and Junior Miller.

Mrs. Riggs died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Lagniappe Hospital in Shreveport. She was born May 20, 1917, in Decatur to Henry H. Reid and Dessie Cullwell Reid. She attended Oak Grove First Congregational Methodist Church as a child in Moulton before moving to Mississippi. She was a homemaker and a resident of Summer Manor in Decatur from 1987 to 1998. She was the widow of Leonard L. Riggs, the mother of the late William Dean Riggs and sister of the late Dessie Millwood.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Riggs of Shreveport; one brother, Frank A. Reid of Decatur; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brooks died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. She was born Sept. 28, 1913, in Limestone County to Kelvie Holt and Esther VanBuren Holt. She was the manager of Russell Anderson Apartments in Ypsilanti for 20 years before retiring and was a member of Ridge Road Church of Christ in Michigan. She was the widow of Robert C. Brooks and the sister of the late Viola Brewer, Hazel Brewer and Margaret Adams.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Brooks Jr. of Ooltewah, Tenn., Jimmy Brooks of Martinez, Ga., and Roy Brooks of Brooklyn, Mich.; three daughters, Cathy Wilford of Elkmont, Betty Carter of Whiteville, N.C., and Joyce Goodman of Bellville, Mich.; one brother, Harold Holt of Athens; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Gatlin of Memphis, Tony Gatlin and Ray Gatlin, both of Athens; one daughter, Margaret Timbes of Elgin; three brothers, Clyde Chapman and Jerry Chapman, both of Athens, and Chester Chapman of Killen; one sister, Dorothy Jean Henson of Florence; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mayfield died today, June 1, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1917, in Lawrence County to Bud Mayfield and Mary McDaniels Mayfield. He was a retired assistant fire chief from the Decatur Fire Department, where he worked for 38 years. He was the widower of Lois Marie Mayfield.
He is survived by three sons, Noel Mayfield and Gary Mayfield, both of Decatur, and Michael Mayfield of Greenville, S.C.; three daughters, Beverly McNabb of Decatur, Judy Bell of Kissimmee, Fla., and Rita Wallace of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Johnny Mayfield of Falkville; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Grissom died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Alabama on April 5, 1916, to Berry Alucian Grissom and Emma Adeline Hatton Grissom. He was a Baptist minister for 50 years and served churches in Lawrence and Colbert counties and in Tennessee. He participated in various radio ministries and foreign missions.
He was a member of the Leighton Baptist Church, Leighton Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and was a Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Grissom was a retired press operator from Reynolds Metals Co.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Lee Clardy Grissom; three daughters, Jewel Grissom Shuey of Tarrifville, Conn., Betty Grissom Jackson of Birmingham and Susan Grissom Drane of Decatur; two brothers, Eli Grissom and Quinton Grissom, both of Leighton; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
