Mr. Hall died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Veterans Hospital in Birmingham. He was born July 20, 1968, in Limestone County. He was an Army veteran and a member of Clements Baptist Church. He was the brother of the late Greg Hall.
He is survived by one daughter, Brittany Nicole Hall of Athens; his father and stepmother, Larry and Peggy Hall of Athens; his mother, Brenda Pepper of Athens; one stepson, Thomas Ramsey of Athens; one brother, Bradley Hall of Athens; and one stepbrother, David Springer of Athens.
Pallbearers were to be Bradley Hall, David Springer, Wade Hall, Don King, Mark Pepper and D.C. Moore.

Mrs. Harper died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born July 21, 1925, in Limestone County to William Harper and Frances Dortch Harper. She was a homemaker and a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Johnny Cheatom of Chattanooga; one daughter, Eddie Mae Pitts of Decatur; one sister, Nancy Grisby of Athens; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hunter died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was born May 23, 1923, in Prospect to Thomas Erving Wright and Clara B. Sparks Wright. She was a homemaker and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was the widow of William Clyde Hunter Jr.
She is survived by one son, W. Mark Hunter of Greer, S.C.; one daughter, Leigh Ann Henson of Greer; one brother, the Rev. Bill Wright of Jasper; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Luker died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Morgan County to John Fletcher Luker and Lena Young Luker. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Baker Woodreels, where he was a machine operator. He was a member of Westside Community Church and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 11. He was the widower of Christine Patterson Luker.
He is survived by two daughters, Wyllene Luker Carter and Geraldine Luker, both of Hartselle; two brothers, James Luker of Hartselle and Paul Luker of Glencoe; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ferrell Britt, Johnny Luker, Edward Luker, Jimmy NeSmith, Alvin Spears and Johnny Perkins.

Mr. Burden died today, June 28, 2000, at Shoals Medical Center in Muscle Shoals. He was born July 18, 1915, in Lawrence County. He was a retired painter from Martin Stove and Range Co. in Florence and was a member of Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church. He was the widower of Frances Burden and the father of the late Billy Wayne Burden.
He is survived by one sister, Sadie Pate of Town Creek; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Engle died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1920, in Morgan County to Robert B. Engle and Nannie Pepper Engle. He was a retired farmer and a retired chemical warehouse supervisor for Riverside Chemicals in Decatur. He was a World War II veteran, and a member and deacon of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He was the brother of the late Ruth Engle Terry.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Annie Engle; three sons, Billy Engle of Hartselle, James B. Engle of Trinity and Roger Engle of Hillsboro; one brother, Robert E. Engle of Somerville; five sisters, Mary Jane Gertsman of Hartselle, Lillie Mae Siniard and Lee Nelms, both of Lakeland, Fla., Margarite Knighten of Albertville and Gaynell Kent of Decatur; one stepbrother, Ronnie King; one stepsister, Mary Alice Suggs; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Etheredge died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Lawrence County to Blain and Ethel Etheredge. He was a farmer, a retiree from Fruehauf and a 1963 graduate of Hatton High School. He was the brother of the late Willard Etheredge.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Etheredge; two sons, Jeff Etheredge and Ronnie Etheredge, both of Town Creek; two brothers, Ferlin Etheredge and Ussery Etheredge, both of Moulton; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Singleton died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Morgan County to Homer R. Johnson and Ora M. Johnson. She was a Baptist and the former owner and operator of Singleton Barbecue in Florence. She was the widow of William David Singleton and the mother of the late LaHoma Garene Singleton.
She is survived by one son, Daryl David Singleton of Florence; her mother of Hartselle; one brother, Hoyt Johnson of Hartselle; three sisters, Gloria Penn of Falkville and Nancy Speegle and Phyllis Castile, both of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Smith died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Decatur to Sydney A. Smith and Bessie Young Smith. He was a graduate of Riverside High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He joined the Army Band in Texas and also served in France, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was co-owner of Alabama Beauty Salon on Moulton Street and was a route carrier for THE DECATUR DAILY for more than 50 years.
He is survived by two sisters, Lillian Smith and Eveleen S. Crawford, both of Decatur.
