Mr. Collins died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at his home. He was born June 4, 1926, in Morgan County to Will Collins and Ethel Mae Thompson Collins. He was a retired self-employed painter, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4190 in Decatur.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Shepard of Somerville and Samantha Jedd of Decatur; two sisters, Mary Poteete of Somerville and Fannie Mae Nelson of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
Family and members of Veterans of Foreign Wars will be pallbearers.

Mrs. Guffey died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born June 11, 1954, in Decatur. She was a waitress and a member of Decatur Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include her father, Alfred L. Askenburg of Somerville; two sons, Jason Askenburg and Anthony Todd Holtzclaw, both of Trinity; three sisters, Darlene McDougal of Trinity, and Susan Motes and Sandra Motes, both of Somerville; and two grandchildren.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Opal "Mamaw" Duncan Parris, 83, of Falkville was to be today at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.
Burial was to be in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Parris died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Morgan County to Elbert Lawrence and Stella McReath Lawrence. She was a native of Falkville and retired from Falkville Nursing Home after 25 years of employment. She was the widow of J.D. Duncan and Phil Parris, the mother of the late Douglas Duncan and Debbie Brown, and the grandmother of the late Tommy Erfourth and Phillip Brown.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Duncan of Griffin, Ga., Eskel Gene Duncan of Hartselle and Frankie Duncan of Falkville; two daughters, Gail Dougherty and Judy Harms, both of Decatur; one brother, John Lawrence of Cullman; three stepbrothers, Sonny Massey of Falkville, and Jimmy Lawrence and Glen Lawrence, both of Cullman; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Family members were to be pallbearers.

Mrs. Vinson died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 1, 1910, in Lawrence County to Thomas Naylor and Lula Naylor. She was a homemaker and the widow of Drew Vinson.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Vinson, Billy Vinson and Tommy Vinson, all of Moulton; two daughters, Betty Dunn of Hartselle and Peggy Warren of Moulton; one brother, Virgil Naylor of Moulton; one sister, Maggie Jarrett of Danville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wright died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at National Health Care in Moulton. She was born April 25, 1914, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church. She was the widow of Frank Wright and the mother of the late Donald Wright.
Survivors include three sons, Clifton "Pete" Wright of Moulton, J.T. Wright of Phoenix and Gary Wright of Decatur; one daughter, Betty Sisco of Florence; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. St. John died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born April 30, 1920, in Morgan County to Mary St. John Jenkins. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and retired from Wolverine Tube after 33 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Couch St. John; one daughter, Sharon Denise St. John of Birmingham; two brothers, Hal Jenkins of Somerville and Howard Jenkins of Florette; and two sisters, Carolyn Jenkins Morris of Cotaco and Linda Jenkins Gilchrist of Lacey's Springs.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Mrs. Terry died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at home. She was born July 23, 1930, in Lawrence County to John Mack Spigle and Shirley Terry Spigle. She was a homemaker and the mother of the late Grant Lee Terry and the sister of the late Robbie Jean Hood, Nadine Earline Cagle, Essie B. James, Elizabeth Cagle and John Rene Spigle.
Survivors include her husband, Granville Terry; one son, Roger M. Terry of Rockfield, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Abernathy died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born April 7, 1932, in Limestone County. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired heavy equipment operator at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Johnson Abernathy; one son, Anthony Abernathy of Elkmont; one daughter, Anne Wynn of Athens; one brother, Paul Wayne Abernathy of Killen; one sister Betty Hands of Altamota, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Baugher, Johnny Abernathy, Joe Mack Abernathy, Chad Wynn, Mark Abernathy and Matthew Abernathy.

HUNTSVILLE -- Memorial service for Annie Irene Hampton Bodine, 64, of Guntersville will be announced. Local arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bodine died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Limestone County to James William Hampton Sr. and Gladys Smith Hampton. A graduate of Huntsville High School, she was a bookkeeper at Redstone Federal Credit Union and retired from Family Security Credit Union in Decatur. She had lived in Guntersville for eight years.
Survivors include her husband, Grady Bodine; three sons, Matthew T. Pearsall of Decatur, Kevin E. Pearsall of Somerville and Grady Bodine Jr. of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two brothers, James W. Hampton Jr., and Franklin Darby Hampton, both of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Campbell died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at her home. She was born May 2, 1957, in Decatur. She was a nurse at Decatur General Hospital and the daughter of the late Henry Julius Terry Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Michael Campbell; two sons, Michael Andrew Campbell and Richard Alexander Campbell, both of Decatur; three brothers, Henry Julius Terry Jr., Michael Anthony Terry and Kenneth Julius Terry, all of Decatur; three sisters, Sandra Terry Gaston of Athens, Karen Sue Terry of Birmingham, and Victoria L. Terry of Decatur; and her mother, Dorothy Jean Barber of Decatur.

Mr. Pearson died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at home. He was born March 20, 1928, in Morgan County to Henry Pearson and Ruby Pearson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Melrose Park, Ill., and was a receiving supervisor at Proviso Township High School in Maywood, Ill.
Survivors include three sons, Elverse Pearson Jr. of Chaska, Minn., Ronald Craig Pearson of Chicago and Darrell Mark Pearson of Stone Mountain, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
