HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Roy Lee Johnson, 80, of Lacey's Spring was to be today at 2 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home's South Chapel with the Rev. Edward "Buddy" Payne officiating.

Burial was to be in Lipscomb Cemetery in Lacey's Spring.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 6, 1919. He was a retired commercial fisherman and owner and operator of Johnson's Grocery in Lacey's Spring for 30 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Madewell of Huntsville, and Carolyn Malone and Ocie Madewell, both of Lacey's Spring; two brothers, Robert Johnson of Boaz and Alvis Johnson of Falls Of Rough, Ky.; three sisters, Mary Dell Long of Owens Cross Roads, Lucille Phillips of Florence and Edna Mae Gray of Indiana; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Emma Christine Marbutt
Infant

ATHENS -- Graveside service for infant Emma Christine Marbutt of Athens will be tonight at 6 at Evans Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Littrell officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

The infant died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, the day of her birth, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Barry and Mandy Marbutt of Athens; one sister, Anna Marbutt of Athens; her grandparents, Tina Leudeke of Anderson, Ronnie and Diane Mewbourn of Lester, and Tony and Clara Marbutt of Athens; and her great-grandparents, Helen Gaston of Athens and Annie Marbutt of Hackleburg.

Temperance 'Tem' Carrie McGhee

Funeral arrangements for Temperance "Tem" Carrie McGhee, 70, of Decatur, who died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital, will be announced by Ridout's Brown- Service Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Glenn Wallace Pannell

PRICEVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Glenn Wallace Pannell, 60, of Somerville, who died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at home, will be announced by Priceville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends to- night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Jeffrey Michael Sandor
12, Hartselle student

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Jeffrey Michael Sandor, 12, of Hartselle will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Patton officiating.

Burial will be in Cullman Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

He died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital East. He was born Oct. 4, 1987, in Morgan County to Michael Thomas Sandor and Melissa Ann Jones Sandor. He was a student at Hartselle Junior High School.

Survivors include his parents of Hartselle; one brother, Andrew Thomas Sandor of Hartselle; and his grandparents, Roy and Audrey Jones of Decatur and Al and Billie Sandor of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Steven Shelton, David Sandor, Paul Sandor, John Sandor, Pat Sandor and Wendell Jones.

Flora Brooks Petcher White
96, Brewton native

ATHENS -- Memorial services for Flora Brooks Petcher White, 96, of Athens will be tonight at 6 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home and Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren in Citronelle with the Rev. Robbie White officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 6 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before Saturday's service.

Mrs. White died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was born May 28, 1904, in Brewton. She was a member of West Highland Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, William White of Denver, Alton White and Bob White, both of Athens, and Earl White of Russell-ville, Ark.; one daughter, Viola Harper of Mobile; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Elsie Kitchens Wynn
77, homemaker

Funeral for Elsie Kitchens Wynn, 77, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Decatur, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Evans officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wynn died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at Pine Brook Harborside Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Morgan County to Bailey Kitchens and Anna Pitt Kitchens. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of William Loyd Wynn and the sister of the late Elvin Kitchens, Elbert Kitchens and Eva Jones Gibson.

Survivors include two sons, Loyd H. Wynn and Charlie D. Wynn, both of Decatur; one daughter, Wyndal Wynn Murray of Nokomis, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Wynn, Brian Wynn, Joey Logan, John Jackson, Pat Lane and Phil Lane.

Gracie Oline Freeman
75, retired laundry worker

PRICEVILLE -- Funeral for Gracie Oline Freeman, 75, of Valhermoso Springs will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Priceville Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Freeman died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center.

She was born May 25, 1925, in Morgan County to Charlie Calvin Wilson and Edna May Brazley Wilson. She retired as a laundry worker.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Freeman; one son, Billy Freeman of Valhermoso Springs; two daughters, Shirley Lavelle of Union Grove and Kathleen Freeman of Valhermoso Springs; two brothers, Walter Wilson of Valhermoso Springs and Emmit Wilson of Arab; three sisters, Ola Lenox of Valhermoso Springs, Sarah Whisnate of Lacey's Spring and Dollie Lawrence of Morgan City; and five grandchildren.

Temperance 'Tem' Carrie McGhee
70, co-owner of Lacon Trade Day

Funeral for Temperance "Tem" Carrie McGhee, 70, of Decatur will be Saturday at noon at Ridout's-Brown Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Windell Shirley officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. McGhee died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Cullenburg to Charles and Eloise Thornton. She was co-owner of Lacon Trade Day for 18 years and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by one daughter, Midge Decker of Hartselle; two brothers, Buddy Thornton and Jasper Thornton, both of Decatur; three sisters, Ann Thornton of Pensacola, Fla., and Mamie Fowler and Jean LaHay, both of North Carolina; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Baker, Ashley Stidham, Marc Lewter, Ronnie Baker, Richard Blute and Buddy Thornton.

Glenn Wallace Pannell
60, retired entrepreneur, businessman

PRICEVILLE -- Graveside service for Glenn Wallace Pannell, 60, of Somerville was to be today at 2 p.m. at Nelson Family Cemetery in Somerville with the Rev. Jimmy Reeves officiating and Priceville Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Pannell died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at home. He was born Dec. 18, 1939, in Morgan County to Elbert J. Pannell and Etna Nelson Pannell. A retired entrepreneur and businessman, he was a former member of Priceville Jaycees and a founder of the Somerville Volunteer Fire Dept. He was the father of the late David Glenn Pannell and the brother of the late Jean Pannell and the late Gurtha Pannell.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Jackson Pannell of Somerville; one daughter, Glenda Ruth Pannell of Somerville; four brothers, Leslie Pannell, Edgar Pannell and Billy Pannell, all of Somerville, and Larry Pannell of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; and six adopted grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Joe Watson, Chris Watson, Hillard Long, Billy Joe Pridemore, Brandon Arnold, Jeff Arnold, Tracy Arnold and Chet Campbell.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 216 Johnston Street S.E., Decatur, AL 35601.

Douglas Gene Poole

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Douglas Gene Poole, 51, of Hartselle will be Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Poole died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at home. He was born Jan. 1, 1949, in Morgan County, to Odie Lee Poole. He attended Falkville High School and was a member of Falkville First United Methodist Church. He was the grandson of the late Floyd and Edna Looney and Tom and Annie Poole.

Survivors include his mother of Hartselle; one brother, Allen Poole of Summerville, S.C.; and three sisters, Joyce Coffey of Decatur, Patsy Springer of Jonesboro, Ga., and Phyllis Kay Walden of Danville.

Pallbearers will be Fred Button, Michael Springer, Robbie Springer, Joshus Poole, Larry Winton and Chris Proctor.

Betsy Ann Sims
43, office worker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Betsy Ann Sims, 43, of Hartselle will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Trotter officiating.

Burial will be in Bald Knob Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sims died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at home. She was born July 26, 1957, in Morgan County to Cleveland Charles Crow and Willodean Ledlow Crow. She was an office worker at Care Line Inc.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth R. Sims; one daughter, Misty Michelle Sims of Hartselle; one brother, Jimmy Crow of Decatur; three sisters, Patsy Morgan and Robbin Hughes, both of Decatur, and Betty Wilbanks of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Crow, Jimmy Crow Jr., Tony Crow, Vernon Wilbanks, Mitchell Morgan and Raymond Ledlow.

Milton O. Wood
85, retired farmer

TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for Milton O. Wood, 85, of Leighton will be Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Leaborn McCarley officiating.

Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery with Morrison Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Wood died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Shoals Hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Colbert County to Sid Wood and Annie Moland Wood. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and sang in The Happy Five Quartet and with other groups.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Zelma Jeffreys Wood; and one daughter, Jackie Smith of Leighton.

Pallbearers will be Mack Walker, Terry Clement, Harold Jeffreys, Tom Posey, Danny Jeffreys and Dwain Clement.

Eleanor E. Cassis
87, homemaker
Memorial service for Eleanor E. Cassis, 87, of Decatur will be at The Brick Church Dutch Reform in Spring Valley, New York.

Mrs. Cassis died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1912, in New Jersey to John Boggiano and Anita Zucchi Boggiano.

She was a member of The Brick Church Dutch Reform and member of Spring Valley Order of the Eastern Star. She was past advisor for the Order of the Rainbow Girls. She was a homemaker and the widow of Robert H. Cassis.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Cassis of Decatur and the Rev. Robert H. Cassis, Jr. of Olympia, Wash.; one daughter, Carole Chappelle of Highland Falls, N.Y.; one half sister, Anita Kilian of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
