Mr. Coburn died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Lawrence County to William Coburn and Cynthia Elizabeth Mayfield Coburn. He was a retired paint contractor.
Survivors include four sons, Clay Coburn of Hartselle, Earl Coburn of Trinity, and Edward Coburn and Joseph Coburn, both of Moulton; two daughters, Connie Jones of Moulton and Sherry Johnson of Trinity; three brothers, Herman Coburn of Trinity and Billy Coburn and Cleven Coburn, both of Decatur; three sisters, Veltie Huggins of Arizona and Shirley Thomas and Alice Helms, both of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Defoe died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at her residence. She was born May 7, 1941, in Morgan County to John Brasher Sheats and Albirta Johnson Sheats. She was a retired inspector for General Electric in Decatur and sister of the late Frank Ogle Sheats.
Survivors include her husband, Acie Frank Defoe; three sisters, Cora Lee Ball of Battleground, Ima Marie Pope of Vinemont and Ruby Johnson of Hartselle.

Survivors include her husband, Louie Reeves; four sons, Gregory Reeves and Kerry Reeves, both of Hartselle, and Marty Reeves and Jamie Reeves, both of Decatur; two daughters, Rhonda Steelman of Hartselle and Kim Reeves of Tanner; two brothers, Roger Prestridge and Randall Prestridge, both of Haleyville; three sisters, Joyce McClain of Hamilton, Glenda Yerby of Muscle Shoals and Peggy Cole of Moundville; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Scott died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Lacey's Spring, to Willie Russell and Gessie Russell. She was the widow of Freddie Timmons and Peter Scott. She was the mother of the late Jesse Lee and Jimmie Lee and the sister of the late Eunice Robinson and Mattie Thomas. She was employed at Sinai Hospital and Grace Convalescent Home in Detroit, Mich. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include four brothers, Charles Love, Horace Love, Terome Love and Randy Love; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Payne, Tony Timmons, Paul Timmons, Reginald Timmons, James Johnson, and Bruce Timmons.

She was the widow of Robert H. Cassis.

Miller and the mother of the late Andrew Miller.

Mr. Montgomery died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Lawrence County to Charlie Crowe Montgomery and Emma Stewart Montgomery. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Cullman Civitan Club and was a Mason for 50 years. He was retired as Cullman County executive director of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Cole Montgomery; six sons, Joe Montgomery of Decatur, Charlie Montgomery and Cary Montgomery, both of Vinemont, Glenn Montgomery of Anniston, Gary Montgomery of Appleton, Wis., and Mark Montgomery of Elbert, Colo.; five daughters, Darlene Montgomery Hale of Cullman, Marlene Montgomery Bradford of Vinemont, Gail Montgomery Hale of Hartselle, Bonnie Montgomery Heaven of Huntsville and Anita Montgomery Evatt of Irondale; 28 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
