Mrs. Jacobs died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 11, 1914, in Hobart, Okla., to Marion and Dora Stoops. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was the widow of William "Dick" Jacobs and the sister of the late Edmack Stoops, Fred Muston, Fletcher Muston and Mildred West.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Jacobs of Decatur; four daughters, Nadean Scott, Bernice Bagwell and Joyce Reynolds, all of Decatur, and Lorene Terry of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Avery Littrell III, Avery Littrell IV, Tracy Reynolds, Bill Mefford, Sam Silver and George Upton.

Mrs. Nelson died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Giles County, Tenn., to William and Ethel Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of Albany Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Claud Leonard Nelson; one son, Dan F. Nelson Sr. of Decatur; one sister, Mary Lee Poteete of Somerville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thurman Vest, Johnny Atkins, Dan Nelson Jr., Wade Littrell, Gene Lentz and Joe Weaver.

Mrs. Absher died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home in Florence. She was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Moundville to James Lee and Mattie Fondren Lee. She was a homemaker and member of Center Hill Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lodia Absher.
Survivors include one son, Dr. R. Keith Absher of Florence; two daughters, Barbara Hibbett of Florence and Mattie Whitsett of Decatur; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Burch died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, in West Monroe. He was born Aug. 25, 1939, in Hartselle to John D. Burch and Savannah Burch. He was a drywall contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda J. Manley; three sons, Paul L. Burch and Larry G. Burch, both of West Monroe, and Billy D. Massey of Vallejo, Calif.; two daughters, Peggy D. Underwood of Hot Springs, Ark., and Sharon C. Osbon of West Monroe; two brothers, J.D. Mr. French died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 27, 1918, in Morgan County to William and Elsie Dobbins French. He was a farmer, a retired pipefitter supervisor and a member of Trinity Church of Christ. He was the brother of the late Lorene Bullard, Joe Wheeler French and William Miles French.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lois Cochran French; two sons, Steven S. French of Trinity and Roger French of Decatur; one daughter, Charlotte Hamilton of Trinity; three sisters, Gladys Gilliland and Daisy Moebes, both of Decatur, and Thelma Sons of Trinity; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnston died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at National Healthcare Center in Moulton. She was born July 29, 1907, in Illinois to Eli York and Bircha Ellen Odom York. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church in Hartselle and a grocery store owner. She was the widow of Robert E. Johnston Sr. and mother of the late Robert E. "Bob" Johnston Jr.
Survivors include one sister, Helen York Fairchild of Baton Rouge, La.

Mr. Lewis died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at his home. He was born March 25, 1923, in Alabama to George Franklin Lewis and Vera Mae Armstrong Lewis. He was a Baptist and a retired construction worker.

Mr. Brown died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1927, in Cullman County to T.P. Brown and Lizzie Pearson Brown. He was a retired self-employed glass glazier. He was the brother of the late Ed Brown, Opal Skinner and Dean Rodgers.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae England Brown; one son, Johnny Mack Brown of Cullman; two daughters, Patricia Laney of Cullman and Sheila Stewart of Danville; two brothers, J.P.
