Miss Miller died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at her home. She was born April 26, 1973, in Lauderdale County. She was a graduate of Clements High School and attended Calhoun Community College.
She is survived by her parents, Ray and Kay Miller of Athens; and two sisters, Nicole Smith and Lori Miller, both of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Chris Fleming, James Fleming, Robin Jones, Scotty Jones, Keith Butler, Eugene Jones, Steve Miller and Timmy Jones.

ATHENS -- Funeral for Elsie M. Newton, 83, of Lexington was to be today at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Wendall Watts officiating.
Burial was to be in Grassy Cemetery.
Mrs. Newton died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Mitchell Hollinsworth Annex in Florence. She was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Lauderdale County. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was the widow of Reeder Franklin Newton.
She is survived by three sons, Chester Newton of Lexington, Alfred Newton of Green hill and Robert Newton of Barton; three daughters, Ann Jackson of Lester, Jean Reeder of Decatur and Martha Ellis of Hoover; two sisters, Pearline Shelton of Florence and Willie Sue Skinner of Danville; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Curtis Liverett, Robbie Pettus, Danny Coats, Tommy Bailey, Jerry Best and B. J. Carder.

MEMPHIS -- Funeral for Lagene Eloise Adams, 78, of Decatur will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill Midtown Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Joe Jernigan officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
Mrs. Adams died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born March 20, 1921, in Memphis to Miron Delain Dacus Sr. and Annie May Kolb Dacus. She was a homemaker and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. In her later years, she considered both Decatur and Jonesboro her home. She was the widow of Jesse Cleon Adams.
She is survived by one son, Larry C. Adams of Jonesboro; one daughter, Sandra A. Weaver of Decatur; one brother, Miron Delain Dacus Jr.; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Clay died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Alabama. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Ray Clay of Hillsboro; two daughters, Ila Brown of Arley and Nancy Hocutt of Morris; one brother, Gene Wilson of Massey; one sister, Marie Peek of Massey; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.

Mrs. Farrar died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at her home. She was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Limestone County to Arthur Johnson and Bertha Cannon. She was a member of Poplar Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Joe Thomas Petty, Billy Farrar, Charles Farrar and Ricky Farrar, all of Athens; six daughters, Elizabeth Allen, Patricia Farrar, Doris Farrar, Carolyn Farrar, Bertha Farrar and Brenda Farrar, all of Athens; one brother, James Farrar of Louisville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Plain Lawn Cemetery in Hicksville, N.Y., with Chatmon and Benson Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. McCullough died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in New York. She was born Feb. 10, 1913, in Lawrence County to Eugene and Virginia Mayes. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she sang in the gospel chorus and served as a missionary, assistant superintendent of Sunday school and a teacher in the Willing Workers church organization. Before moving to New York, she was a member of Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Decatur.
She is survived by four sons, Charles McCullough and Ronnie McCullough Sr., both of Far Rockaway, David McCullough of Decatur, Ga., and Henry McCullough of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Flora Quarles of Arverne, N.Y., Jennie Silver of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Catherine McCullough of Inglewood, Calif.; one sister, Louise Ellison of Decatur; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Putnam died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Huntsville. She was born Dec. 9, 1917, in Morgan County to Benjamin and Mattie Russell Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of First Holy Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, James F. Putnam of Cameron, N.C., and Cliff Putnam of Decatur; three daughters, Marie Panella of Huntsville, and Doris Montgomery and Barbara Brown, both of Decatur; one brother, Benjamin Hill of Decatur; one sister, Ola Zills of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Graveside service with full military honors Roscoe A. Sellers, 82, of Spokane, formerly of Decatur, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with the Cremation Society of Washington directing.
Mr. Sellers died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, in Spokane. He was born in Lawrence County to John and Meady Sellers. He was a veteran of World War II, a prisoner of war for 42 months in the Philippines and Japan, and a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired as a major in the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Ex-POW Association, Retired Officer Association, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Vilma Sellers; two daughters, Jeanine Spring of Fairfax, Calif., and Jennifer Cook of Concord, Calif.; five brothers, Luther Sellers, Leonard Sellers, G.W. Sellers and Robert Sellers, all of Decatur, and Jemes Sellers of Knoxville; three sisters, Hazel McDowra and Zady Copus, both of Decatur, and Lorene Sharp of Dothan; and two grandchildren.

Mr. White died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at his home. He was born April 11, 1934, in Limestone County. He was a truck driver for Burgreen Construction Co. in Athens.
He is survived by one stepson, Tony Kelley of Rogersville; and one step-grandson.
