COLUMBIA, Tenn. -- Funeral for Sarah Kinzer Redding, 89, of the Sawdust Valley, Tenn., will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Smith, the Rev. Larry McGranahan and the Rev. Diane Luten-Blum officiating.
Burial will be in Bryant Cemetery in Mooresville. Tenn. The family will receive friends tonight from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Redding died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 8, 1911, in Maury County, Tenn., to Easom Caldwell Kinzer Sr. and Inez Sargent Kinzer. She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Ozro Frye Redding Sr. She was the mother of the late Ozro Frye Redding Jr. and the sister of the late Easom Caldwell Kinzer Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Joann Redding Fuqua of Hartselle; one son, Robert Caldwell Redding of Versailles, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will be pallbearers.
Frances Long Taylor

PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Funeral for Frances Long Taylor, 87, of Pine Bluff, Ark., will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Cook officiating.
Burial will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born in Morgan County. She attended Pine Bluff High School and worked as a receiving clerk at Sears Roebuck and Co., retiring in 1976. She was the widow of Jewell Madison Taylor and a member of Oak Park Free Will Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sears Retirement Club. She was sister of the late Acey H. Long, Earby M. Long, Elizabeth Long Hartsell and Minnie Long.
Survivors include three sons, William Eugene Taylor of Collierville, Tenn., Dale Madison Taylor of Mayflower, Ark., and Jewel David Taylor of White Hall, Ark.; one daughter, Betty Taylor Spadoni of White Hall, Ark.; one sister, Mary Lee Long Fisher of Memphis; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.

Ms. Thorpe died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Grandview Hospital in Jasper, Tenn. She was born Jan. 29, 1970, in Detroit Lakes, Minn., to Jerry Thorpe and Joanne Neuhalfen Thorpe Miller. She was a hair stylist at Profiles in Huntsville and she also worked at Rosie's Mexican Cantina.
Survivors include one son, Tanner Connley Dale of Huntsville; her father, Jerry Thorpe of Mahnomen, Minn.; mother and stepfather, Joanne Miller and Larry Miller Sr. of Decatur; one brother, Darin Thorpe of Thief River Falls, Minn.; two half brothers, Larry Miller Jr. of Decatur and Joshua Thorpe of Mahnomen, Minn.; her grandparents, Edny Neuhalfen of Detroit Lakes and Ilton and Helen Thorpe of Mahnomen.

Mr. Yates died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at his home. He was born July 24, 1951, in Morgan County to Gurney L. Yates and Lula Varnell Mitchell Yates. He was a Baptist and a carpenter with General Repair Service.
Survivors include two sons, Charles L. Yates Jr. of Hillsboro and Jeff Yates of Decatur; one brother, Gurney "Pee Wee" Yates of Birmingham; and one grandson.

Mr. Boyles died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Alabama to Luther Boyles and Chelcy Boyles. He was a Veterans Administration service officer and a member of Berea Baptist Church. Mr. Boyles was an Army veteran of the World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the Nomandy invasion. He received five Battle Stars for combat duty and a Presidential Unit Citation. He was appointed Lawrence County coroner by Gov. George C. Wallace and was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge No. 879. He was the father of the late Joel Malcom Boyles.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Burden Boyles; two sons, Ed Boyles of Chattanooga and Phillip Boyles of Moulton; three brothers, Wayne Boyles of Decatur, James W. Boyles of Moulton and Carrol "Pete" Boyles of Oakland, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Andrew "Drew" Boyles, Jared Boyles, Ryan Boyles, William "Will" Boyles, Barry Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Danny Boyles and Will Bynum.
Members of American Legion Post 25 will be honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Loyd died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1943, in Atchison, Kan, to Leo Charles Loyd and Ida Isabele Chase Loyd. He was retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant.

Marshall Mackey 'Bigboy' Riggs

ATHENS -- Funeral for Marshall Mackey "Bigboy" Riggs, 80, of Athens was to be today at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Marlow officiating.
Burial was to be in Wallace Cemetery in Rogersville.
Mr. Riggs died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at his home. He was born April 12, 1920, in Morgan County to Claude Riggs and Annie Riggs. He was the widower of Gertie Johnson Riggs, and the brother of the late Euna Mae Taylor. He was retired from Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include four sons, Mackey Riggs and Danny Riggs, both of Athens, David Riggs of Elkmont and Frankie Riggs of Lester; four daughters, Cecilia Cole of Rogersville, Tracy Dollar of Elkmont and Patricia Patterson and Evelyn Haggenmaker, both of Athens; one brother, L.B. Riggs of Rogersville; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Funeral for Ira Lee Turner, 83, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Cartwright officiating.
A graveside military service with be at Roselawn Cemetery with American Legion Post 370 officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Turner died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Morgan County to Charley Turner and Essie Smith Turner.
He was a graduate of Alabama State University and the Atlanta College of Mortuary Science, and owned Turner Funeral Home on Vine Street Northwest from 1959 to 1985.
He was a deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a surgical technician in England, France, Belgium and Germany.
He was commander of American Legion Post 310. He was a member of the Decatur city Board of Zoning Adjustments, the advisory board of the Vine Street rehabilitation program, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Alabama Democratic Conference. He was the first supervisor of Carrie Matthews Recreation Center, and was on the board of directors of Eva Sterrs Boys and Girls Club.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Hall Turner; and one sister, Lucille Chatman of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Missionary Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post 310.
Inez Arnett

Graveside service for Inez Arnett, 80, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Decatur, was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery.
Burial was in Roselawn Mausoleum.
Mrs. Arnett died Oct. 24, 2000, in Denver. She was born May 19, 1920, in Sugar Valley, Ga., to Robert and Mary Barton. She was widow of the late Orville Arnette.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Stricker of Aurora, Colo., and two grandchildren.
Brad Bradfield

ATHENS -- Memorial service for Brad Bradfield, 49, of Athens will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bo Grace officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bradfield died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 17, 1951, in Washington, D.C., and was a computer programmer for the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal. He graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurenburg, N.C., with degrees in religion and psychology. He was a member of the college council and served as college chaplain.
Survivors include his wife, Jinni Bradfield; one son, Christopher Bradfield of Athens; two daughters, Katie Bradfield and Shasha Bradfield, both of Athens; and one sister, Merrilyn Kroll of Lutz, Fla.

Zula Aubra Strickland Williams Hanes

Mrs. Hanes died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1910, in Morgan County to James Robert Strickland Sr. and Mary Frances Lula Isabelle Morgan Strickland. She was a retired educator and guidance counselor with the Decatur City and Morgan County school systems. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Joe Wheeler Chapter No. 291. She was past president of the Real Great Granddaughters Club and a member of Sigma Tau Delta English Honorary Society, the Morgan County Genealogical Society, the Business and Professional Women Club of Decatur and the American Association of University Women of Decatur. She was the widow of Porter Lee Hanes and mother of the late Frederick F. Williams.
Survivors include one daughter, Lorene W. Mooney of Hartselle; two brothers, James Robert Strickland Jr. of Guerneville, Calif., and Wilbur Grant Strickland of Warrior; one sister, Iva Elizabeth Cosper of Sylacauga; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William G. Rambo, Mark Mershimer, Paul Whaley, James K. Youngblood, Jr., Larry Hughen and Fred Striedieck.
