Mrs. Pointer died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Lawrence County to Carlton and Minnie Boyd. She attended Moulton High School and Alabama A&M University. She was employed by National Health Care Center in Moulton for several years as a certified nursing assistant. She was widow of H.J. Pointer and the mother of the late Timothy Pointer and Janet Pointer and sister of the late Carrie Sykes, Gertrude Boyd, Willard Boyd, Ezell Boyd, Benjamin Boyd and Edward Boyd.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Williams of Moulton; two sons, Greg Pointer of Hillsboro and Darryl Pointer of Decatur; six sisters, Pauline Rogers of Newark, N.J., and Bessie Echols, Hattie Murl McDaniel, Bertha Nell McDaniel, Emma Jean Jones, and Marie Truss, all of Moulton; four brothers, Willie Gene Boyd and Luther Boyd, both of Moulton, Eugene Boyd of Louisville, Ky., and Carl Boyd of Courtland.

Mrs. Roberts died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Lawrence County to Robert Jessie Lang and Mamie Brown Lang. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin L. Roberts of Athens; two sons, Terry Roberts of Athens and Steve Roberts of Decatur; two brothers, Ray Lang and Billy "Bill" Lang, both of Battle Creek, Mich.; two sisters, Gladys Miller and Jenny McMillian, both of Battle Creek; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Speake died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at his residence. He was born April 3, 1946, in Morgan County to Lamar "Speck" N. Speake and Mattie Lee Vinson Speake. He attended Nebo Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Cullman.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Speake; one son, Fred Lamar Speake of Cullman; three daughters, Joyce Kelley and Melba Kelley Stewart, both of Cullman, and Judy Kelley Hovis of Vinemont; one brother, Bob Speake of Hartselle; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1912, in Ramer to Joseph Bell and Alice Baker Bell. She was a nurse's aide at Hartselle Medical Center. She graduated from Morgan County Training School and was a member of Hartselle First Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Shelvie Williams Sr.; three sons, Shelvie Williams Jr. of Hartselle, Larry Williams of Tanner and Don Williams of Locust Grove, Ga.; four daughters, Charlene Miller of Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley Marie Love of Eolia, Mo., and Gloria Jackson and Barbara Davis, both of Chicago; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jones died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was born March 5, 1955, in South Carolina to the late Homer Lee Jones and Bettie Wallace Jones. He was a member of Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church and a 1973 graduate of Morgan County High School. He was a maintenance worker at BP, formerly Amoco.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Todd Jones of Hartselle and John Pat Jones of Joppa; his mother of Hartselle; one brother, Steven Lee Jones of Madison; and two sisters, Kathy Jones Maples of Hartselle and Denise Jones Garber of Lacey's Spring.

Mr. Leonard died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Huntington, W.V., to the late Raymond G. Leonard and Alice Annabelle Hall Grote and was a Baptist. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired as a civil servant with the inspector general's office of the Department of Defense.
