CULLMAN -- Funeral for Richard "Rick" Shelnutt, 47, of Fairview will be Thursday at Mount Hermon Baptist Church with the Rev. Morris Nunnelley officiating and Moss-Service Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery in Cullman. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home and the body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Shelnutt died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1951, in Cullman. He worked for Fairview Volunteer Fire Department and was an emergency medical technician with Fairview Rapid Responders. He was a former president of Fairview Lions Club and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a route salesman for Cintas Uniform and Linen Rental in Decatur for 19 years and was owner and operator of Shelnutt Tire in Fairview. He was a deacon at Mount Hermon Baptist Church. He was son of the late Sam Shelnutt.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Shelnutt; one son, Aaron Shelnutt of Fairview; one daughter, Kari Shelnutt Driver of Fairview; his mother, Lois McKaig of Blanchard, La.; his grandmother, Inez Smith of Fairview; and one sister, Vicki Roach of Blanchard.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Reed, Terry Gordon, John Hanes, Jackie Calloway, Dan Marston, Kenny Schnittker, Dale Waldrep and Jeff Denson.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons from Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wylie died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Elbert Ernest Wylie of Tuscumbia; one son, Melvin Wylie of Moulton; two daughters, Joan Hodge of Dallas and Frances Parker of Russellville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

ATHENS -- Funeral for Jimmy Euel Alexander, 60, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Athens with the Rev. Barry Anderson, the Rev. Steven Screws, the Rev. Belon Friday and Bill Baxley officiating.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Alexander died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Bear Creek, Marion County. He attended Phillips High School in Bear Creek through the 10th grade and graduated from Russellville High School in 1957. He received an undergraduate degree from the School of Commerce and Business Administration at The University of Alabama in 1960 and earned his law degree there in 1963.
He moved to Athens following graduation from law school and joined Malone, Malone and Steele, later known as Malone, Steele and Alexander. He was senior partner of Alexander, Corder, Plunk, Baker, Shelly and Shipman, P.C., in Athens. He practiced law in Athens for 36 years. He was city attorney for Athens and Ardmore for 17 years. He was a member of the Athens Board of Education for five years and was the Alabama State Bar Association Commissioner for the 39th Judicial Circuit for four years.
He served the legal profession as a lecturer at Continuing Legal Education conferences and was a contributor to numerous legal publications.
In 1997, law partners and clients established the Jimmy E. Alexander Scholarship, recognizing his life service to his clients across the Tennessee Valley. The scholarship is awarded each year to a student from Limestone County attending The University of Alabama.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Alexander; one son, Eric Alexander of Athens; one daughter, Tonya Rose Alexander of Athens; two brothers, Joe Alexander and Arnold Edward "Buck" Alexander, both of Muscle Shoals; two sisters, Dorothy Turberville of Sheffield and Frances Wilson of Muscle Shoals.
Pallbearers will be John Plunk, Bob Baker, Fred Pepper, Jimmy Corder, Scott Shipman, George Craig, Mitch Shelly and Jimmy Woodruff.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Limestone County Bar Association.

He was a retired custodian of East Lawrence Elementary School and a member of Mount View Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Mae Tidwell; four sons, Travis Ray Tidwell of Double Springs, Radford O. Tidwell of Jasper, Marvin Lee Tidwell of Trinity and Charles C. Mrs. Anders died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born March 10, 1914, in Lincoln County, Tenn., to William D. Berryman and Mattie S. Shaw Berryman. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church for more than 35 years and was an office clerk at Redstone Arsenal.
She is survived by two brothers, Clay Berryman and Woodrow Berryman, both of Huntsville.

Mr. Dent died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Sept. 8, 1966, in Morgan County. He was a professional certified welder for Stone and Webster Contractors, working at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in Athens. He was a 1984 graduate of Speake High School, where he played basketball and baseball. He was a lifelong resident of Morgan County and was engaged to marry Cathy Jackson of Decatur.
He is survived by his father, Welborn Dent of Hartselle; his mother, Barbara A. Putt Dent of Decatur; two brothers, Waylon Dent and Felix Paul Dent, both of Hartselle; and his grandfather, Cecil L. Putt of Vardaman, Miss.
