Mrs. Norman died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born April 30, 1913, to Robert Lawrence and Molly Waters Lawrence. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Lang of Decatur and Fred D. Mitchell of Dallas; one daughter, Elizabeth Cheatham of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayman Cheatham, Wendell Cheatham, Gary Cheatham, Johnny Cheatham, Michael Cheatham, Ben Mitchell and Randy Cheatham.
Lula Pettit
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Lula Pettit, 97, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pettit died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center.
Further arrangements will be announced by the funeral home.
Velma Robinson

Graveside service for Velma Robinson, 86, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Robinson died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born April 15, 1914, in Tennessee to Harvey Jesse Green and Lou Della Hooper Green . She was a schoolteacher and a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church. She was the widow of James L. Robinson.
Survivors include two brothers, A. Walter Green of Jacksonville, Fla., and Clifton Lee Green of Athens.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church of Decatur.
Margaret S. Salter

BIRMINGHAM -- Funeral for Margaret S. Salter, 81, of Cullman will be Friday at noon at Roebuck Chapel with the Rev. Dan Kitchens officiating and Ridout's Roebuck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Cullman First United Methodist Church and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at Roebuck Chapel.
Mrs. Salter died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Walker County. She lived in Jefferson County most of her life, but spent the past 18 years in Cullman. She was a homemaker and a member of Cullman First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Salter; two sons, Thomas A. Salter of Decatur and James G. Salter of Cullman; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Carl Baynard 'Pee Wee' Watson

Mr. Watson died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1933, in Lawrence County to Henry Grady Watson and Inez Tucker Watson. He was a member of Piney Grove Methodist Church and was an assembler at Eagle Housing and Southern Energy.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Warren Watson of Piney Grove; two sons, Jimmy Carl Watson of Piney Grove and Don Keith Watson of Nashville; one daughter, Judy Watson Hill of Piney Grove; and one grandson.
Mineola Rackley White

Mrs. White died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1905, in Morgan County to Anderson Rackley and Emma Parr Rackley. She was a self-employed hairdresser and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Decatur.
Survivors include four nephews and three nieces.

Mrs. Grammer died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in Columbia, Tenn. She was born Oct. 15, 1945, in Lawrence County to Austin Beck and Louise Saint Beck. She was a cosmetologist and a member of Fairview Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Henry Grammer; one son, Winston Steven Grammer of Hartselle; her mother of Courtland; one brother, Franklin Beck of Courtland; two sisters, Rosia Ann McGregor of Courtland and Doris Terry of Decatur; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Saint, Randy Saint, Roger Saint, Morris Grammer, Ronnie Seymore and Gordon Battles.

Mr. Hogeland died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at home. He was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Town Creek to Coleman Wayne Hogeland and Ether May Collier Hogeland. He was a Baptist and a jack hammer operator for 39 years at Reynolds Metals Co.
Survivors include his wife, Ozelle Riley Hogeland; and two sisters, Mary Lou Gray of Decatur and Billie May Powell of Addison.

Mrs. Pettit died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Nov. 16, 1903, in Morgan County to W.F. Drake and Lela Walling Drake. She was a homemaker and a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. She was the mother of the late Dwight Pettit and Marilyn Guthrie.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Pettit; two sisters, Dora Johnson of Hartselle and Flora Tidwell of Georgia; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Paris, Tenn., with Joe Walker officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Stockton died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Decatur to Judson Stockton and Naomi Sims Stockton. He retired in 1989 from the Alabama Department of Revenue, where he was a tax examiner. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Jesse Rogers and Bud Bryan Sunday school class. He was the brother of the late Eugene Stockton.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Stockton; and two sisters, Sarah Hunter of Montgomery and Mary McLachlan of Falkville.
Gerritt E. 'Short Dog' Toney
HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Gerritt E. "Short Dog" Toney, 29, of Decatur will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating.
Burial will be in Conley Cemetery in Huntsville. The family will receive friends tonight until 9 and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Toney died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 31, 1971, in Huntsville to Olee and Irene Toney.
Survivors include one son, Gerritt Jones of Nashville; two daughters, Seymone Toney and Patricia Toney, both of Nashville; one brother, Lorenzo Toney of Decatur; and four sisters, Cylestine Toney, Jacquiline Toney, Victoria Williams and Shamrika Toney, all of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Thomas Higgins, Larry Scott, Jeremy Harris, James Willie and William Higgins.
Freda Rosa Hauk Vines

RICHARDSON, Texas -- Freda Rosa Hauk Vines, 91, of Richardson, formerly of Decatur, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in Richardson.
Her body was donated to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School for medical research.
Mrs. Vines was born Nov. 1, 1909, in Decatur to Clements Oscar Hauk and Catherine Koester Hauk. She lived in Knoxville before moving to Richardson in 1983. She was a pianist and a former music store clerk. She was the widow of Aaron Vines.
Scott Waldrop

ATHENS -- Funeral for Scott Waldrop, 41, of Athens will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Steven Screws and Jeff Bass officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Waldrop died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born March 30, 1959, in Tulsa, Okla., to Pat and Hilda Waldrop. He was a 1977 graduate of Athens High School and a 1981 graduate of Auburn University. He was a lifetime member of the Auburn University Alumni Association, and a member of the Limestone County Auburn Club, Alabama Agriculture Chemical Association and First United Methodist Church of Athens. He was a salesman of agricultural chemicals.
Survivors include his wife, Dana Waldrop; one son, Dan Waldrop of Athens; one daughter, Emily Waldrop of Athens; his parents of Athens; two brothers, Mitch Waldrop of Gadsden and Russ Patty of Huntsville; and two sisters, Mindy Jackson of Athens and Ginny Vandeberg of Madison.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Vaughn, Tom Igou, Phillip Dean, Jeff Bass, Nick Allen and Jerry Evans.
Members of former Athens High School state championship teams will be honorary pallbearers.
