TRINITY -- Funeral for John W. "Pee Wee" Davis, 48, of Trinity will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Decatur Christian Fellowship with the Rev. John White and the Rev. Tony Collins officiating.
Burial will be in Town Creek Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 28, 1952, in Lawrence County to Carl and Juanita Davis. He was a forklift parts manager at Tennessee Valley Equipment and a member of Decatur Christian Fellowship, where he played with the Praise Team. He enjoyed playing golf. He was the brother of Dewayne Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Terry Davis; one son, Shane Davis of Hillsboro; one daughter, Shelley Davis of Trinity; three brothers, Mike "Bud" Davis of Falkville, and Billy Joe Davis and D.C. Davis, both of Town Creek; five sisters, Edith Noble of Decatur, Mary "Sissy" Coan of Hatton and Jane Martin, Bobbie Faye Elliott and Linda Landers, all of Town Creek.
Pallbearers will be Tooter Davis, Keith Coan, Michael Smith, Matt Borden, Ricky Terry and Lynn Noble.
Marilyn Dobson

HARTSELLE -- Memorial services for Marilyn Bentley Griffin Dobson, 61, of Anchorage, Alaska will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hartselle with retired U.S. Navy chaplain Capt. Alston Kirk officiating.
Mrs. Dobson died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at her home. She was born March 22, 1939, in Hartselle to Buford J. Bentley and Donna Mae Bentley. She graduated from Morgan County High School in 1957, Athens State College in 1976 and The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1978 with a degree in nursing. She moved to Wyoming in 1978 and then to Alaska and pursued a career in nursing, working as a medical evacuation flight nurse for 20 years in remote Alaska areas.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Dobson; one son, Brian Griffin of Trinity; one daughter, Erin Griffin of Homer, Alaska; her mother of Hartselle; one brother, Gary Bentley of Collierville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Thomas W. Gooch
82, retired heavy equipment operator
ATHENS -- Funeral for Thomas W. Gooch, 82, of Athens will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Marks officiating.
Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gooch died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at his home. He was born July 8, 1918, in Giles County, Tenn. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Gooch; two sons, Wayne Gooch and Larry Gooch, both of Athens; two daughters, Judy Roberson and Linda McCurry, both of Athens; four brothers, Edward Gooch of LaGrange, Ga., and Alvin Gooch, Calvin Gooch and Harold Gooch, all of Athens; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Neil Gooch, Scott Roberson, Shane McCurry, Charlie McAdams, Jeff Gooch Dwight Gooch.
Honorary pallbearers will be former co-workers.

Mrs. Pounders died Friday, December 22, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Andalusia to Marvin Longmire and Lois Locklier Longmire. She was a homemaker and a member of the Westview Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Hulon E. Pounders; one son, David Michael Pounders of Huntsville; two daughters, Susan J. Wallace and Joanne Drake, both of Hartselle; one brother, William G. Longmire of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Doris L. Hicks of Andalusia; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Gerritt E. 'Short Dog' Toney
HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Gerritt E. "Short Dog" Toney, 29, of Decatur will be today at 1 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating.
Burial will be in Conley Cemetery in Huntsville. The family will receive friends today from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Toney died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 31, 1971, in Huntsville to Olee and Irene Toney.
Survivors include one son, Gerritt Jones of Nashville; two daughters, Seymone Toney and Patricia Toney, both of Nashville; one brother, Lorenzo Toney of Decatur; and four sisters, Cylestine Toney, Jacquiline Toney, Victoria Williams and Shamrika Toney, all of Decatur.

Kathryn Williams White
85, retired cosmotologist
ATHENS -- Funeral for Kathryn Williams White, 85, of Athens will be today at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Athens Mayor Dan Williams and George O. Williams Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. White died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at her childhood home. She was born March 5, 1915, in Limestone County to William Anderson Williams and Lota Hassentine Rogers Williams. She was one of the first women business owners in Athens, opening The BeeKay Beauty Shop in 1934 and later Kay's House of Beauty. She was a member of the Market Street Church of Christ. At the age of 3, she was a member of her father's band, the Williams Family Band, which was invited by Congress to entertain troops in World War I. Her father was a county commissioner and music teacher. She was the widow of Leonard Burton White and had six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Lota Millicent "Micki" Etu of Athens and Marilyn White Helgesen of Lilburn, Ga.; one brother, George Williams Sr. of Athens; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brent Coggin, Mark Shaw, Mario Dominguez, Dale McCartney, Jimmy Stanford and Ron Gerlach.

Mrs. Ellner died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at NHC Nashville nursing home. She was born Sept. 4, 1899, in Jasper to William Brown and Sallie Speake Brown. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Ellner of Decatur and William Ellner of Fountain City, Wis.; one daughter, Sally Scott of Nashville; one brother, Jack Brown of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ATHENS -- Allyn Foster VanPatten, 79, of Athens died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at his home. Spry Funeral Home handled local arrangements.
He was born July 8, 1921, in Salem, Ore. He was a retired health physicist with the Tennessee Valley Authority and a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ada VanPatten; two sons, Steven VanPatten of Las Vegas and Frederick VanPatten of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Gretchen Fagin of Henryville, Pa.; two stepsons, Ralph Haney of Muscle Shoals and Billy Haney of Seoul, South Korea; one stepdaughter, Phyllis Fowler of Ardmore; one brother, William VanPatten of California; one sister, Maxine Dickey of Eugene, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wiggins died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 3, 1936, in Morgan County to John Allen Wiggins Sr. and Lillie Mae Fennell. He was a retired employee of Burnett Erwin Forest Products Co. and a member of Bell Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Decatur; five brothers, Theo Wiggins, the Rev. Allen Wiggins Jr., Eddie Wiggins, James Wiggins and Charlie Lee Wiggins, all of Decatur; and five sisters, Eliza Minor and Gloria Wilkerson, both of Kirkwood, Mo., and Geneva Gray, Ellistine McDaniel and Mattie Wiggins, all of Decatur.

Mrs. Carroll died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Winston County. She was a retired bank teller.
Survivors include her husband, John Ottis Carroll; two sons, John Carroll Jr. and Donnie Carroll, both of Addison; one brother, James Denton of Decatur; one sister, Lila McCain of Cullman; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
