Mr. Bowling died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was born Aug. 29, 1940, in Lawrence County to Clarence and Gertha Bowling. He was a member of the Church of Christ and worked at Holland Co. for 30 years. He was the brother of the late Freeman Bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Royce Ann Bowling; three sons, Keith Bowling of Harvest, Kent Bowling of Madison and Kirk Bowling of Athens; two daughters, Sonjia Smith and Selina Robison, both of Athens; four brothers, Ollie Bowling of Florence, Cullan Bowling of Huntsville, Evan Bowling of Trinity and O.D. Bowling of Moulton; four sisters, Sue Johnson and Myrl Bowling, both of Decatur, Melba Montgomery of Trinity and Jean Parker of Moulton; and 10 grandchildren.
Sons and grandsons will be pallbearers.

ATHENS -- Funeral for Patricia Newman Hall, 65, of Athens will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 until 3 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Hall died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at her home. She was born July 24, 1935, in Florala to Julian Newman and Bela Speigner Newman. She was a resident of Limestone County since 1945. She was a member of Kappa Delta at Birmingham-Southern College, where she was Miss Southern Accent in 1956. She was a charter member of the Athena League, a member of First Baptist Church in Athens and a nationally recognized investment adviser.
Survivors include her husband, Richard H. Hall; one son, Richard Newman Hall of Houston; two daughters, Lisa Hall Gilbert and Patricia Diane Hall, both of Athens; one brother, Julian Newman of Athens; and three grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Adair Gilbert, Thomas Adair Gilbert Jr., Scott Newman Gilbert, Wilson Luck, Terry Luck and Tommy Kuykendall.

Mr. Kelley died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1926, in Morgan County to Ulman Kelley and Pearl Roberts Kelley. He retired from Dunlop, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and Decatur Box and Basket. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Ida Mae Kelley and the father of the late Ronald Gene Kelley and Barbara Jones.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Kelley Terry of Moulton; one brother, Clifton Kelley of Michigan; one sister, Mattie Burt of Michigan; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Mrs. Laney died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1934, in Cullman County to John Solomon "Sol" Rodgers and Bercha Bentley Rodgers. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. She was the mother of the late Jimmy Wayne Laney.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Laney; one son, Ricky Laney of Cullman; three sisters, Audie Buchanan and Fayenell Ballew, both of Cullman, and Johniee Bee Pack of Michigan; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McGowan died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Lawrence County. She taught English and home economics teacher at Courtland High School. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church and graduated with honors from Florence State Teachers College.
Survivors include her husband, Brendon "Mack" McGowan; two sons, B.B. McGowan and Robert McGowan, both of Courtland; two daughters, Margaret Lindsay of Athens and Marsha Zenanko of Jacksonville; two brothers, Hoover Reding of Town Creek and Gideon Reding of Courtland; one sister, Geneva Reneau of Celina, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Rowe died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1921, in Morgan County to Powell C. Rowe and Brenda Smith Rowe. He was a member of Piney Grove Christian Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and past director of Community Bank in Falkville. He was retired from farming and from Wolverine Tube Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Rowe; two sons, Don Rowe and Johnny M. Rowe, both of Falkville; two sisters, Jean Tankersley of Hartselle and Doris Lee Seip of Miami; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Sulcer died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born March 7, 1913, in Limestone County to Robert and Myrtle Elliott She was a member of Sardis Spring Baptist Church, where she was a WMU leader and choir member. She was a seamstress and former employee of Whitt's Barbecue in Hartselle.
Survivors include two sons, James Robert Sulcer of Athens and Alton Sulcer of Hartselle; three daughters, Dorothy Jean Hinkle and Judy Grisham, both of Toney, and Bettye Cox of Boca Raton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Mr. Weaver died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born June 19, 1928, in Lawrence County to John B. Weaver and Lila Belle Folsom Weaver. He was a retired Methodist minister. He was a Mason, served in the National Guard Army and was a former employee at the Hartselle Police Department.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth A. Weaver; two sons, Rickey D. Weaver and Mark D. Weaver, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Betty Pitt of Trinity; one brother, David Weaver of Hartselle; five sisters, Icle Gist, Iler Heaps and Evie Jane Vinson, all of Moulton, Trudie Kelsoe of Speake and Audrie Anders of Falkville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Mr. White died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Lawrence County to Manco and Olga White. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, where he was in the choir. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. He was the brother of the late James White, Sebron White and Marie McLemore.
Survivors include his wife, Doris White; two daughters, Sharon Dotson and Mitzi Pratt, both of Decatur; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
