Mrs. Young died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at Sun Bridge Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Phil Campbell. She owned and operated Play It Again Sam for 13 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, W.K. Young; three sons, Doug Young of Albertville, David Whitehead of Statesville, N.C., and Robert Whitehead of Madison; one sister, Jean Ahrens of Decatur; one brother, Othal Williams of New Orleans; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Willie Pentecost, Russell Smith, Harry Maiden, Elton McDonald, J.C. Brown and Cliffton Hurst.
Jimmy Dwain Hitt

Funeral for Jimmy Dwain Hitt, 36, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.

Mr. Hitt died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital following a diving accident. He was born Nov. 11, 1962, in Decatur. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served aboard the submarine USS Vallejo. He also was owner of A+ Computers in Nashville and was the former owner of Hitt Furniture Co. in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hitt of Sarasota, Fla.; two sons, William Justin Hitt and Jacob E. Hitt, both of Sarasota; his mother and stepfather, Ann and Stephen Reed of Lewisburg, Tenn.; four brothers, Harvey Lee Hitt of Hartselle, Jeffrey Ken Hitt of Nashville, Jackie Lee Hitt of Priceville and Anthony Scott Hitt of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Diann Hammon of Priceville and Melinda K. Hitt of Nashville; one stepbrother, Jeffrey Stephen Reed of Philadelphia; and two stepsisters, Vickie Marlena Reed of Red Lyon, Pa., and Lorie Seamons of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Larry Allen, Jimmy Doil Hitt, Jackie Dwain Cole, Gene Beasley, Marty Robertson and Barney Burns.
Randall Scott Kiefer

Mr. Kiefer died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1949, in Belleville, Ill., to Arwood and June Botkin Kiefer. He was in industrial management.
He is survived by his wife, Donna C. Kiefer; one stepson, Joseph Brannon Maner of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Leslie Shannon Maner of Decatur; his parents of Hermann, Mo.; one brother, Mark Kiefer of Illinois; and one sister, Karen Blanks of Kansas.
Harold A. Kuehnert
77, petroleum geologist
Graveside service for Harold A. Kuehnert, 77, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Reinhardt officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Kuehnert died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at his home. He was born July 13, 1922, in St. Louis to Theodore and Anna Marie Kuehnert. He was an Army Air Corps pilot during World War II and was trained at Courtland Air Base from 1943-45. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1948 with a degree in geology. That same year, he began his career with Phillips Petroleum Co. of Bartlesville, Okla.; he retired from Phillips in 1985 as director of exploration projects.
He was a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists, P-47 Thunderbolts Pilots Association, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary of Decatur and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was the widower of Elizabeth Jane Pirtle Kuehnert and brother of the late Ruth Kuehnert Lens.
He is survived by his wife, Mary-Kay Mummert-Kuehnert; three sons, John Harold Kuehnert of Norman, Okla., James Charles Kuehnert of Alpharetta, Ga., and Thomas Alan Kuehnert of Castle Rock, Colo.; two stepsons, Gordon Randall Mummert of Decatur and James Clark Mummert of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Miriam Mummert Douglas of Nashville; one brother, Theodore Kuehnert of Bangor, Maine; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Mrs. Reitmeyer died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Louisiana. She was born Oct. 22, 1910, in Decatur to William and Emma Grimwood Giles. She was a homemaker, a graduate of The University of Alabama and a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, where she attended Mrs. Miree's Bible class. She was the widow of Harry Arthur Reitmeyer and had several nephews and nieces living in Decatur.
She is survived by one son, Harry A. Reitmeyer Jr. of Homewood; one daughter, Katherine R. Hildalgo of La Place, La.; two sisters, Evelyn G. McBride of Decatur and Betty G. Franklin of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sanders died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1952, in Hillsboro to Exon Williams and Lizzie Mae Shackleford. A cook at Krystal, she was a member of Davis Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and later joined St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, William James Sanders; one daughter, Hope Elaine Posey of Harvest; two stepdaughters, Sherene Hill and Rena Hill, both of Decatur; eight brothers, Kenneth Shackleford, Ollie Williams, James Williams, Robert Williams and Prentiss Williams, all of Decatur, Joe Williams and Exon Williams Jr., both of Lawrence County, and Virl Williams; two sisters, Hattie Bush and Rose Fletcher, both of Decatur; her grandmother, Francis Williams of Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Mr. Bell died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born March 3, 1917, in Jackson County to Lorenza Dow Bell and Cora Lee Edmondson Bell. He was a self-employed homebuilder and farmer, and a member of Mc-Kendree United Methodist Church in Massey.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Grace Bell; two sons, James Varnell Bell and Billy Jack Bell, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Doris Bell Mitchell of Florence; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Jack Bell, James Varnell Bell, Jimmy McCoy, Brent Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Frank Salazar, Jim Kirby and Al Houser.

Mr. Broadway died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1946, in Limestone County. He was a maintenance worker at Sweet Sue Kitchens in Athens for about eight years. He was a former member of the Piney Chapel Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Elkton Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Sue Broadway; two sons, Marcus D. Broadway and Gregory H. Broadway, both of Athens; one brother, Herman Wayne Broadway of Athens; and one sister, Florence McClendon of Athens.
Pallbearers were to be Travis Hill, Todd Hill, Jonathan Pratt, Donald Evans, Michael Broadway, Phillip Broadway and David McClendon.
William Lawrence Casey

Funeral for William Lawrence Casey, 71, of Decatur will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Sexton officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 7 at the church. Rosary will be at 7.
Mr. Casey died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Ligonier, Pa., to Edwin and Lois Casey. He graduated from Pittsburgh Commercial College and attended Penn State University.
He and his wife came to Decatur in 1959 to start an institutional food manufacturing business called Valley Institutional Products Co., of which he was president for 10 years. He started another company with Morrison's Foods called Batters, Mixes and Breadings, which he managed for four years. He started T&C Industries in 1983 but had a stroke during its infancy and was unable to work again.
After rehabilitation, he became an active volunteer, particularly at Horizon School, where he worked with former high school dropouts. In his earlier days, he coached youth baseball. He was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church for 40 years, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the father of the late Michele Casey.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Casey; three sons, Kevin Casey of Decatur, Larry Casey of Atlanta and Tim Casey of Birmingham; one daughter, Laura Doss of Decatur; and one sister, Patricia Serena of Highview, Pa.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Casey, Larry Casey, Tim Casey, David Patterson, John Doss and Thomas Wolter Jr.
Knights of Columbus will be honorary pallbearers.
